Hired these folks to do a move in clean on my new house that hadn't been kept clean by the previous owners. Two people showed up to clean and they did a fantastic job. They got paint off the kitchen floor, the fridge sparkled, the dreaded oven was clean, and the whole house smelled clean. I've already requested they come back to help tidy up twice a month. Great job!

Iza from Cleaning Angels was amazing. She was flexible with my schedule and came on short notice when we had guests coming from out of town. She cleaned all sorts of things in the house and was really good about the details -the mirrors, the trashcan, my fridge!, the microwave, washing my sheets and making my bed, etc. I came home to a perfect home. It felt so good and I can tell she did it with love. I could never get my home this clean. I've retained her services monthly because she was so great. If you want a spotless home and you don't have time to clean, she is worth every penny and more.

Joe was very courteous, excellent communication for ETA, and did an AMAZING job installing our new gas stove/oven! Very professional and knowledgeable, Joe was able to help us with re-installing a wall switch that had to be removed so the appliances would fit through the entry and hallway - Lifesaver is what Joe is as well as a very good natured guy!

Great communication! My oven required a special order part and I was told it would take two weeks for the part to arrive. I was disappointed because I needed my oven fixed before Xmas. Luckily, Bo called me a week later to say the part had arrived! He was here the next day and my oven was repaired before Xmas!! He was courteous, professional and is now my go-to for all of my appliance repair!

Due to a minor misunderstanding with the scheduled time I was not able to be there to meet Jocelia as she was done with the work before I arrived home from work. She did a move out clean for one of my rental properties and did an amazing job! It’s a large 5 bedroom 3 bathroom 3,600 sq ft property and not a single thing was missed. All windows and windowsills were cleaned and dust free. The bathrooms were sparkling. I also had her do the oven cleaning it looks brand new again! I will be hiring Rocz cleaning services again.

I didn't meet Odi but benefited from the fruits of her labor! You'd better get on her calendar now because we've started telling our friends and they will be giving her a call as well. I've never seen the oven or fridge so clean!

Simply Clean was a good investment. I hired Graca and her partner for a move-out cleaning. While they had to reschedule due to an issue, I found their communication and responsiveness reassuring. And, more importantly, their cleaning was excellent. Everything from windows to floors to refrigerator to oven, they were extremely thorough, which was very appreciated. I would recommend them.

Charmaine is awesome. I had an apartment move-out clean, and my place wasn't in the best shape. She was on time and got to work immediately. Charmaine was communicative before, during and after the cleaning. She found some pots I left and texted me right away to let me know which was really nice. After she finished, the place was spotless, and she did an oven and refrigerator cleaning as well for a great price. Building management did a walkthrough while she was there and they were very pleased. I have already recommended her to two of my friends and would gladly work with her again!

We were moving out of our 1800sf house and Monica was very professional and responsive to all the details i gave her on what needed to be done. She cleaned in the allotted time i gave her too. The house looked like it did when we moved in! I was a professional cleaner myself and Monica and her helper met my high standards, the only thing they made a mistake on was to turn the fridge back on after cleaning out the inside causing a small water leak which we mopped up. Great job!!!

I knew I needed professional help after realizing I hadn't deep cleaned my condo for over a year after having a baby. I'm so glad I found Helena. She was prompt, extremely responsive, and did an excellent job. She organized my fridge, scrubbed my oven and made my bathroom shine like never before. It took her 8 hours, which I felt horrible about, but I loved that she stayed to finish the job. Hiring Helena was one of the best choices I've made for my home, baby and marriage! I'd recommend her to friends and family in a heartbeat.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do you pay for house cleaning?

Hiring a professional house cleaning service is a helpful way to have a healthy home even when your work and personal schedule is packed. House cleaning prices vary based on how many square feet your home is, how dirty your house gets, and how often the cleaning service comes. Some companies charge a set amount — such as 5 cents — per square foot, with a minimum amount, such as $100. The national average cost for house cleaning ranges between $110 and $150. Prices can be lower in areas with a lower cost of living, higher in big cities or affluent regions. You may save money by increasing the frequency of your house cleaning visits. Often a company will charge you less per cleaning when you schedule more cleanings per month. The cost advantage rewards your loyalty, and also reflects the fact that more frequent cleanings make it easier to maintain a high level of cleanliness in your home. A housecleaning service may charge more for the first visit or for one-time services than for recurring cleanings.

How much does refrigerator repair cost?

Refrigerator repair generally costs a fraction of the price of a new fridge and shouldhave your appliance up and running again in no time. The problems your refrigerator is experiencing and the parts required to fix it will affect your repair costs. Where you live can affect labor rates, which will raise or lower your costs. Here are some examples of average costs:

  • Diagnostic fees: $50-$100. Repair pros often have a service call fee or diagnostic fee to account for their time traveling to your location with all their tools to assess the problem. If you choose to have them repair the fridge, most pros then credit this fee toward your repair cost.
  • Parts: $20-$500. A new compressor averages $200, an icemaker $300, and computerized components such as touch screens and control boards average $300 or more.
  • Basic repairs: $180-$400, including parts. This price range can include repairing the evaporator or fan motor.

How much does it cost to deep clean a house?

Deep cleaning a house goes beyond the surface level to clear out the dust, grime and gunk that’s collecting on the fan blades, hiding in the blinds, and built up inside the refrigerator drawers. Deep cleaning of a home or apartment costs more than regular house cleaning because it takes more time, effort, and cleaning products. You may choose to have a deep cleaning once or several times a year in addition to your standard cleaning services. You may have a one-time deep cleaning to prepare for company or to clean after a house party. Companies may charge an hourly rate or a price per square foot, or may offer you a flat rate after they have visited your home and estimated work time. The national average house cleaning price is $110-$150, with rates ranging higher for deep-cleaning services. Here are some examples of how a company may calculate their deep-cleaning prices:

  • 10 cents per square foot (compared with 5 cents per square foot for standard house cleaning).
  • $300 for a 3,000-square-foot home.
  • $25 per hour per worker for deep-cleaning services.

How long do fridges last?

Refrigerators can last 10 to 20 years, although the most common lifespan is about 13 years. If your fridge is acting up, consider its current age when deciding whether to invest in repairs or buy a new one. Common easy fixes include faulty thermostats, dirty coils and clogged drain lines. Thermostats and dirty coils can be generally be fixed for an average cost of $80-$100. Clogged drain lines, which usually cause leaks, can often be fixed for under $200.

More complex refrigeration repairs such as replacing a bad compressor or replenishing low refrigerant can cost more because of expensive parts and higher labor. A new compressor costs an average of $200, not including labor. If labor is an average of $75-$100 per hour, and the repair takes 3 hours, you’re looking at roughly $500. Consider the age and purchase cost of your fridge; investing $350 in a $600 fridge that is 8 years old may not be cost-effective.

How much does a move-out cleaning cost?

Moving is hard enough work even before you have to clean the empty home to perfection. Instead of scrubbing your tile grout with a toothbrush, hire a professional cleaning company to provide move-out cleaning services for you. For moving out of an apartment, cleaning prices can range from $110 to $150. When scheduling a move-out cleaning, talk with the pro and confirm all the key points they will clean to ensure you receive your deposit back.

Important areas to have cleaned include the fridge interior, the oven interior, bathroom tile, the shower and tub, all blinds, and sometimes the walls. Some cleaning companies do not quote a flat rate for a move-out cleaning, as the number of hours it may take to clean structurally identical apartments could vary greatly depending on how clean or dirty the inhabitants were. For example, move-out house cleaning prices may range from $150 to $180 for one- or two-bedroom apartments.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
