Paul and Stephanie are a lovely team that have been our go-to team in the Seattle area for amazing food and a lovely dining experience. We first met and hired them in 2012 for our wedding for 100 guests, and have since then used them on several occasions for private dining catering for my husband and myself. They are a very professional team that create some of the most unique and delicious dishes I've ever had. We worked closely with them to create a special gastro-pub style menu for our wedding, but have since given them free reign to develop their own menus as a surprise for us and we've never, ever been anything short of amazed at the quality and uniqueness of the meals they've prepared. What's even more amazing to me is that getting to work with such a friendly team that can produce such high quality meals can still be really affordable. For what they bring to the table (no pun intended ;) ), you'd be hard pressed to find a better team to work with.

Words cannot descibe what James did for my wedding. He made my wedding a day to remember. He was very flexible with my needs prior to the wedding and last minute changes during the event. Nola and her staff did such a fantastic job catering our wedding. From helping us plan to menu, providing a delicious tasting, answering questions about logistics and dietary restrictions, and providing stellar food and customer service to the day of the wedding, Nola and her team went above and beyond to make our day special. Our main entrée was fig balsamic glazed wild BBQ salmon with mango kiwi salsa. I wish I could make something this delicious myself, because it was amazing. Our salad consisted of organic mixed greens with julienned apple, shaved fennel, herbed crouton, and a really light but creamy bleu cheese dressing. They even made a separate salad with a different dressing for our dairy-free guests. The guest (and groom’s) favorite was our side: Beecher’s mac and cheese. So good! It was very stormy the day of our wedding, and a lot of things went wrong for us. Nola and her team went beyond the call of duty and helped out where they shouldn’t have needed to. They kept an incredibly positive attitude the entire time, conversed with guests, and helped reassure an incredibly stressed-out bride. The only complaint I heard from any guests was the portion-control at the buffet, but with a buffet we personally feel that was probably necessary. I had been concerned that people would take more than their fair share and leave guests at the end of the line with no food, and I’m sure that was the whole reason for starting out with smaller portions. I also heard that guests were invited to come back for seconds once everybody had been served, so I’m sure everyone got enough food. Overall, we were more than satisfied with Nola, her team, and the food. The food was everything we had hoped for, and the service was outstanding. We recommend them to anybody planning a wedding or other event.

Chef Emme catered our wedding and we couldn't be happier with the choice we made of hiring this company! The food was out of this world. We got so many compliments and comments throughout the night and days after. If you are looking for a caterer that will provide delicious, not your typical "wedding food", Chef Emme is the way to go. Besides the amazing food, it was such an easy process working with the Chef prior to our wedding day. She was very responsive, answered every single one of my questions in detail and was overall super easy to communicate with. I could really tell she really loves what she does and wants to make sure you are happy and satisfied. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone looking for a wedding caterer.

Britta was beyond wonderful! We had a really hard venue to work with, with non responsive staff, making it VERY hard to plan. Britta went above and beyond with meeting us and helping us get everything worked out. She was always in touch and quick to respond to any emails or calls. The day of was even better! She made sure every vendor was doing what they were supposed to, she managed the entire day, and kept us both fully informed of anything important happening that we needed to know about. I've referred her to a friend, and I would refer her to a thousand more! Hiring a wedding planner was never part of my plan, but when I ran into issues and wanted help, she was there and jumped right in. I'm so glad my plans changed and I got to met and hire her! Best wedding decision we made!

I have hired Joy Max Catering for my wedding catering for 130 people. Our wedding was on budget and we had only 4 months to plan it. Joy Max Catering has worked with us based on our budget and we were able to pick a menu we wanted. We were able to add and subtract thins we wanted or didn't choose to have. When I first tried my herb roasted chicken, I was wondering how come I could never make a chicken like that. It was tender, juicy and lots of flavor. The food had flavor and it was very homemade & thats what we were looking for. Everyone who I asked about my food, they said it was excellent! I am glad I have met the owner Joy, she is a great person to work with and talk about food. She is very professional, sweet and very very hard working. I would recommend Joy Max for an outstanding ability to work with people, base their menu, arrange payments and also cook a deliciously tasty food. Thank you Joy Max for your services.

I cannot say enough about how great my experience was with Cherelle and her husband Igor. I had the lovely opportunity to work with Cherelle after finding her on Craigslist. With a very tight budget for our wedding I did not think I could afford a wedding decorator but decided to reach out to her and at least ask. She said she could work with any budget and definitely worked with mine. Throughout the whole process from start to finish Cherelle has been amazing! I am a very picky and indecisive person and Cherelle helped me find my vision for our wedding. She texted me very often her ideas and sent pictures of DIYs she did for our wedding. She even stopped by my house 3 days before the wedding to pick up extra flowers I had picked from my parents garden to use for the wedding since I could not exceed my budget for more floral and wanted bigger centerpieces. She never once made me feel bad about being on such a limited budget and instead helped brainstrom ideas to find alternative options to create my vision of the wedding. I loved how she responded very quickly to all my emails and text and really helped take a lot of weight off my shoulders. As a bride, I had so much on my plate, it was nice to have someone that was my go to person for the decorating. I received a great amount of compliments on our decor and am so blessed to have worked with such a passionate person who truly went above and beyond! Not only was Cherelle professional throughout the entire process, she is such a genuine person and made me feel like I was planning my wedding with a friend and just bouncing ideas off each other. She made the experience fun and it was so exciting to see the finished piece of art on our wedding day. Without using her services, I know my wedding would not have been as beautiful or even close to it. I highly, HIGHLY recommend her services. Ester is amazing at event coordination! Our wedding day ran very smoothly and was stress-free. Ester was very flexible and made good decisions under a tight time constraint. When we woke up to a rainy morning, Ester adapted our wedding timeline plan to change setup for our outdoor ceremony. Under her guidance, we waited to set up outside, then miraculously the sun came out, and Ester led our group in setting everything up quickly yet meticulously. Ester was great interacting with our friends and family throughout a high energy day. She even brought food to my wife's grandparents so they wouldn't need to stand in the buffet line. Several family members commented on how impressed they were with her. Ester really did think of everything, even handing out streamers to guests for our grand exit! Overall, Ester is calm under pressure, well-organized, and all in all a great person!

A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. How much do day-of wedding coordinators cost?

A day-of wedding coordinator makes sure that every detail of your wedding day goes off without a hitch, and deals quickly and quietly with any last-minute emergencies. For many brides, the day-of wedding coordinator is their best investment! The average national cost for a wedding coordinator is $800 to $1,000. Although full-service wedding coordinators often charge a percentage of the total wedding budget, most day-of coordinators charge a flat fee plus an additional hourly fee if the day runs long. For example, a 15-hour day-of coordination costs an average of $600, plus an additional $45 per hour if the coordinator works more than the planned 15 hours. Another option is to hire a coordinator to manage the last-minute details leading up to the event; for example, 25 hours of month-of coordination costs an average of $1,200. Several factors affect the cost of day-of coordination, including the region, the planner’s experience, and the specifics of the wedding. If the ceremony and reception are in two different locations, expect to pay more than if they’re in the same place. What should you ask a wedding coordinator?

When you hire a wedding coordinator, you want to make sure he or she gets you and can execute perfectly your vision of your dream wedding. To find the very best fit, it’s important to ask these five questions:

  • Are you available on my wedding date? If the coordinator isn’t available on your big day, there’s no reason to continue the interview — unless you’re willing to shift your date to accommodate their schedule.
  • What’s average cost of most of your weddings? If the coordinator’s usual wedding is outside your range, they might not be the right coordinator for you. Ask whether the coordinator requires a minimum wedding budget. In general, the wedding coordinator’s fee should be about 15 percent of your budget.
  • What is your speciality? Some coordinators specialize in day-of coordination, some create the overall vision, and others act as a producer. Make sure your wedding coordinator provides the type of services that will most help you create the event you have in mind, such as selecting vendors and handling their contracts, or managing the guest list and invitations.
  • What are your ideas for fulfilling our wedding vision? After you describe your dream wedding — rustic or sophisticated, traditional or funky — the wedding coordinator should be able to suggest appropriate venues, menus, decorations, etc..

Do I need a wedding day coordinator?

Even if you’ve handled every detail of planning your wedding, you might appreciate having a day-of wedding coordinator in your corner. Usually, the coordinator meets with you a few weeks before your wedding to put together a detailed timeline of everything that needs to happen on your wedding day. Then, on the big day, the coordinator makes sure everything goes according to plan — and handles any emergencies that pop up, such as party crashers, missing tuxedos, late vendors, disappearing bridal party members and more. Most wedding coordinators also handle:

  • Distributing the wedding day timeline to all of your vendors.
  • Coordinating all of your vendors, including the photographer, florist and baker.
  • Conducting the wedding rehearsal.
  • Helping the bride and her wedding party get dressed and take photos.   
  • Checking floor plans, lighting levels, cake placement, menus, favors and more.
