- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
- New students receive a free interview. A parent or guardian must be present if the student is underaged. No siblings, grandparents, or friends may attend interviews or lessons without first gaining permission. - Acoustic pianos are an entirely different instrument from even the highest end electronic pianos. Students are required to have daily access to a decent acoustic. - Practice is required. - Clean hands, happy attitude, and courage are also required!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performamce, University of Missouri-Columbia; a Master of Music in Piano Performance, The Boston Conservatory; and the Graduate Performance Diploma in Piano, also from The Boston Conservatory. I have been teaching professionally for ten years. I specialize in developing improvisation skills, uninhibited technique, early childhood music learning, and music theory and history.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
From children to adults, from beginners to professionals. I have a wide range of experience in teaching music for personal enjoyment to preparation for national competitions.
