Steve is great! Not only is he a genuinely nice guy, he also genuinely wants to help improve your guitar skills! His teaching approach includes a nice mix of theory and technique, while helping you learn songs that are both fun to play and expand your abilities. He’s also great about providing easy access to lessons, songs, and other information via the web. Beyond teaching me some new songs and chords, Steve really helped me understand what I was playing and how I might play it better.

Both my daughters take piano lessons from Helga, and she is absolutely wonderful! They both started at a very young age, and Helga's patience is endless. She is fantastic about knowing just what each child needs, and challenging them while still recognizing what they're capable of. When she was recommended to us she was referred to as "the best piano teacher I ever had," and we completely agree with that sentiment.

I first contacted Reed in hopes of finding a guitarist that might be interested in accompanying me while I sang. I’m an adult who was never exposed to vocal or instrumental lessons growing up. Needless-to-say I was beyond green. I was focusing on singing, and it never crossed my mind to even try guitar. Reed’s love of music is contagious though and with his encouragement, we started formal guitar lessons. I warned him I didn’t want to dive into theory, read music, etc. I just wanted to be able to play current songs I could sing to. He tailored his lessons to my goals, but over time I realized he was not only teaching me those songs, he was teaching me the foundation of guitar and building up a chord & (I hate to admit it)- theory- library honestly without me even noticing. He is able to simplify the complex world of music and make it fun. If you’ve seen him play, you know he is an extremely versed guitarist, and despite his elite skill set he was more than patient, understanding and encouraging for a beginner like me. I have also seen him work with advanced guitarist, and he is beyond able to vary the curriculum to suit their needs. I highly recommend taking lessons with Reed no matter what level you’re at. I would have never imagined in less than a year of doing so, I would be hosting my own YouTube channel and writing original music. I have Reed to thank for that. I unfortunately don’t live in the same state as Reed anymore, but I still continue to do skype lessons with him as I want to continue to grow and improve, and well, he's the best! -Jessica Marie

I've been taking guitar lessons from Travis on and off for the last 3 years. He has been teaching both my 14 year old son and myself together for about 6 months. His knowledge of and ability to explain music theory has helped us to achieve our mutual goal of creating our own songs. He also provides suggestions and feedback about techniques, that has enabled us to feel confident about the value of continuing with lessons. We have also learned ways to jam together, which makes practice more fun.

The classes taught me Theory, and I was sounding pretty good on the piano after a few lessons! My son took guitar, and with the encouragement of instructors, he sings and writes his own music and songs. Music Works is a great place for instruction.

Patty and Jestin are very friendly and have opened their musical home to my 10 yr old daughter who is quite shy. She loves her weekly lessons and they are both extremely educated in music. They both play multiple instruments. She has learned a lot in the last 4 months plus. This couple, which I would highly recommend, are very hip and take onto kids as if they were their own. I love how they teach and how easily my child retains the information. They also are very easy going on missed lessons (sorry) and rescheduling! Thanks Patty & Jestin for spreading your musical talents!

My son, Sam, took piano lessons from Cherie for a year. I am totally impressed with Cherie's ability to allow Sam to work at a pace that he chose and to be consistent in teaching him what he needed to learn. Sam is autistic, and Cherie understood this and worked beautifully within his parameters. I highly recommend her!

Shad has been piano teacher for my 2 daughters for over 10 years, we enrolled in his studio when the girls were in 2nd grade. Shad has always amazed me with the level of professionalism he puts in his work regardless the age of his students. He steers away from "one fits all" approach and designs curriculum and teaching methods based on his student's individual strengths. He actively promotes effort among his students, an understanding that consistent practice is part of the deal, even at a very early age. He encourages his students to be actively involved in music outside his studio and supports them all the way. He would always find extra time to work with my daughters on their vocal pieces before their auditions or important competitions. Shad has always been willing to work alongside my daughters' piano teachers at school and they benefited from his suggestions and advice. Shad keeps a close eye on other music curricular programs available: my daughters have been participating in ABRSM program which was significantly different from the way music is taught in the US. Shad has not only been willing to help them work on required repertoire and prepare for their exams, he decided to study this program in depth and, seeing the merits of it, started suggesting it to some of his students. I especially appreciate the fact that Shad is constantly working on improving his own musicianship, and his students ultimately benefit from what he learns in summer music clinics and master classes. Over the years Shad has become more than just a music teacher, but a close friend; my daughters appreciated his advice when they were going through college application process. Both my daughters would continue with music even after graduation from Shad's studio, an achievement Shad would always acknowledge and celebrate with his entire studio. Shad is an amazing music teacher and he has our highest recommendations.

Tyler has been an amazing teacher and mentor, perfect to foster our second grader's growth into her first serious instrument (viola.) He is especially good at motivating kids to stretch and improve without overwhelming them. His musical talent is matched by exceptional teaching talent. Week after week with Tyler her skill and love of music keeps growing!

I provide foundation-building piano lessons using a Jazz lens. I have taught many different students, ages ranging from 4 to adult. Remember, anybody can show you where middle C is on a piano, you shouldn't pay $40 per hour for that!

I teach piano lessons to all ages and levels, from beginners through intermediate piano students! I make piano lessons fun for young students while also teaching them important lessons through games and activities.

I offer piano lessons for all ages -- from 4 to 104. Bring music into your life by learning to play the piano. Classical and popular music awaits you. Have fun learning to play duets and solo pieces. Learn music theory along with your piano study. When you are ready, you can enter music festivals, recitals, and competitions. Being able to play the piano can give you great enjoyment for your entire life.

I teach guitar lessons. I love blues, rock, folk, some other interesting styles in the independent and "cult-following" genres. I am not as comfortable with jazz. I would do an even exchange if someone wanted to learn something from me I would take jazz lessons. I believe 45 minutes for a guitar lesson is perfectly reasonable, but if someone wanted to go longer or shorter we can get into contact and figure that out.

I've been playing the guitar for over 20 years. Let me teach you the basics on becoming a great guitarist.
