We focus on breath, balance and being.
At Asana Mindfully Yoga Studio LLC, Melissa Rosenquist teaches more than just an asana flow practice because yoga is a lot more than just a series of physical postures (asanas). Melissa applies a careful yoga approach to bring out the best in one's total self.
Breath, Balance and Being Philosophy:
Breath is so very important to cognitive and physical well-being, but generally, people do not realize how shallow they breathe or how often they hold their breath during a day. Becoming aware of the breath will aid a person to change that. Emotional and physical balance is important in yoga, and that balance is implemented to the rest of a persons life off the mat.
Keeping a sense of being is how I refer to a persons sense of self-awareness. We all could stand to take better care of ourselves; however, we need to pay attention to what our minds and bodies are telling us, to be able to supply ourselves with a better sense of complete wellness. A number of us float through our day without really paying much attention to our minds or bodies, or how or why we do some of the things we do. Through a better sense of being, we can travel through our lives with intention, taking an active role in our lives, and wellness, instead of just passively letting life to happen to us.
I believe that binding together breath, balance and being is a crucial step on the path of overall wellness.
