Ken made the outside of our house look new again! Even with weather that was less than ideal, the job was completed a week earlier than the time frame quoted. Work was top quality: Joe and his crew started the preparation the day after the contract was signed. I think they would have started the same day, but I didn't get back to them until the evening. They started quickly, but the work was thorough and of a high quality. Additional supplies and labor required: The trim was very "dry" in that there was some bare wood exposed causing additional labor and paint above the original quote. Ken asked for and received approval for the additional work prior to going forward with it. I didn't feel pressured to have them complete the additional work and the incremental cost was fair. They could have used the agreed upon number of coats of paint, but it wouldn't have looked finished. They brought it up and I made the decision to use the additional paint and labor. A change in the scope of work that was hassle-free. Clean workplace: Besides a couple ladders and supplies left between work days, the job site was left clean. Once they were done, anything moved while they painted was back in place and not a bit of trash left around. Overall: Ken and Joe did a great job with the house and I would use them again and recommend them to others. I am actually having them come back to refinish my front door next week!
Dan and his crew replaced my siding, soffit, fascia, and gutters. During the entire job they went above and beyond to make sure the work was high quality, and my yard was cared for. They even kept an eye on my son's dog to ensure she didn't wander when they needed to have a gate or garage door open. They adjusted their work schedule to allow for out of town guests as well. I am 100% satisfied and would recommend Dan to anyone.
I had several jobs for Chris to complete. They ranged from shaving and cutting down doors in my home, to mounting motion lights, to re-drywalling a part of my ceiling and insulating the ceiling of a crawl space in the basement. He came the day after I found him on Thumbtack to check out the jobs I would need him to do in better detail. While he was at my home, we discovered a gas leak and while the energy company was there, he immediately went along with the technician to see where the leak was and how to fix it. Chris spent one full day at my house fixing as many problems as he could and returned the next day to finish the rest. He provided me with VERY reasonable estimates, stayed in contact with me throughout the jobs and let me know of any additional details. Chris is an AWESOME guy and I will look no further for another handyman!
We had an unlevel exterior door frame for 15 years. Dave very skillfully fixed it after many frustrating years in just a few hours. He was very professional. Would definitely hire him again.
The problem was with my side garage door causing locking problems. Though everything looked level and plumb there were some very slight tolerance differences. We took the strike plates off and cut the the nails holding the door frame to the rough opening. There were also two screws, one top and one bottom that were also removed from the strike side. The brick molding from the strike side and top were then removed allowing us to tap the top of the strike side in toward the garage and then tested the locking mechanisms for alignment and ease. Once in proper place, we secured the strike side top and bottom to hold it in place. When we had removed the brick molding we discovered that once the door was properly aligned, the sheathing on the strike side stuck out approximately a 1/4 inch. It became clear that the original contractor failed to square up the hinge side of the door opening with the strike side of the door opening thus there existed a slight torqueing of the door in the opening. With that, and the addition of cold and heat expansion and contraction, locking the door was problematic. We managed to trim down a 3/4 by 1/4 area of the sheathing so the brick mold would sit flat on the sheathing and door frame keeping the appropriate setback from the edge. We were also able to accomplish the work without affecting the siding at all. I had a piece of brick molding consistent with what was there so we were able to replace the strike side molding which I cut on my compound miter saw. Everything fit in perfectly and the door is easily closed and locked. What remains is some slight shimming, recaulking the top and strike side, and another coat of paint on the trim.
John did a really good job installing drywall and tile flooring in two bathrooms and a front entryway for me. The work looked good, very precise.
Job: Repair furniture broken in a long distance move, including two antique carved wooden chairs, one reproduction Chinese chest, and a Victorian brass stool. All of them now look splendid! Then Tiffin gently preserved an antique glass door bookcase that had been attic abandoned for 55 years with marvelous results. A new base and legs were created which look as though they have always been there. Throughout I have experienced top-of-the-line service from initial contact, all discussions, to final delivery. Mike, the owner is a pro of the highest order. We are entrusting our family heirlooms with Tiffin Millwork. Thanks for a very nice welcome to Milwaukee.
Todd installed an entry door as well as a storm/screen door at the front of my home. He was efficient, knowledgeable, friendly and reasonably priced. His work was outstanding and even though he had a couple surprises he had the job done in an acceptable timeframe. I would recommend to all my friends and anyone they know as well that his work ethics and performance are of the utmost quality. I will have him back for future projects. Peggy.
He took down 2 awnings, cleaned, repainted and returned them in a timely manner. He also put on an exterior garage door and put in a glass block window in the garage. Excellent workmanship and reasonable priced. A
Todd was on time, fair and completed the install of my new front door well and quickly. I'll be using him again, no doubt.
Steve is a skilled craftsman who listens, communicates and problem solves exceptionally well. He clearly takes pride in his work, and it shows in the end results. He refinished and restored my deck furniture to better than new condition. He has also done interior painting, installed door hardware, and replaced a sump pump battery backup. He has been dependable and a pleasure to work with.
We recently moved into a new house and never used the front door. Just recently we had to use our front door because we were having our kitchen remodeled and we noticed that we needed the door jamb on our front door fixed. Whoever put it in did not do it right. Jim came out and looked over the situation and fixed our problem. He was very courteous and efficient. We had him look at some other future projects that we are thinking of doing and he said that there would be no problem doing them.
Ken did some work on our historic home by refinishing some of our doors and a portion of our stairs. He is exceptionally talented. He treats his project like an artist would treat their work. He is definitely a perfectionist. I would recommend him for anyone.
Dan put steel support posts along one whole wall of our basement. He provided a detailed quote, did excellent, high-quality work and did it very quickly for me. I liked the quality of the posts and the fact that they were made to fit my house. He designs it to fit your situation. My supports needed extra brackets per code, he made them. Dan comes through and I would highly recommend him to anyone.
