When I decided to pursue my yoga teacher training, I thought a lot about how and where I wanted to train. I was living in New York City at the time, so my options were almost endless. I decided to train in India because I felt that was the most authentic way for me to learn about yoga's roots. My teachers were all Indian and had been studying yoga for decades. While many training programs in the States may be excellent, I feel I have a very strong understanding of and appreciation for yoga's history, as well as the spiritual aspects of the practice, that would not have been available to me had I chosen to study in the US. I feel my perspective is therefore quite unique, especially in this area.
