Introduction: There is nothing more unique and beautiful than expressing your love artistically in front of your friends and family. For over 6 years, I have been teaching wedding couples as well as bridesmaid or groomsmen dances, father-daughter and mother-son dances. I bring to the table the ability to make beginners into competent and confident wedding dancers in a short amount of time. If you are in a time crunch, have a strict budget, looking for simplicity or fun choreography I am great to work with. I also offer private yoga instruction. Imagine you woke up and went to work feeling physically great everyday. You could carry on with no complaints about back pain, or tightness and daily chores were not demanding or draining. Now imagine a personal yoga instructor there for you and catering to your needs. To give you the personal strength, flexibility and confidence you deserve. My style of teaching has a strong basis of strengthening and limbering the body. Meditation for me is found through movement to eventually inspire stillness through savasana. What I enjoy most about working with wedding couples is how unique and fun each experience is. Getting to know the couple on a personal level makes my job rewarding. Teaching wedding dances does not just mean learning a routine; it's a process that is one day looked back on and remembered forever. Teaching yoga to beginners is the most rewarding. I am able to see the transformation physically, mentally and emotionally. Change will 100% happen whether you can touch your toes or not, just as long as you show up on your mat. Seeing others grow is what makes it rewarding to teach.

I always find a challenge in her yoga class. Ashleigh would go the extra mile to be sure I followed the class since I am deaf. She answered all my questions. I can’t ask for better yoga instructor in the city. I will definitely go to her class again and again.

I took dance lessons with Ashleigh and they were fun! She's a great technical dancer. She worked hard to help me improve my salsa and swing dancing and really emphasized the basics and connection. She's great to work with for people first starting to dance as well as more seasoned dancers looking to take their dancing skills to higher levels. Ashleigh has danced her whole life, with tons of experience, and knows many styles of dancing that comes from a lifetime of learning. If you are a wedding couple, I have no doubt that she can help you choreograph a routine that will fit your style and comfort level. You will be in great hands with her!

Ashleigh is a joy to learn dance with! Anyone who not only promises to turn a middle aged white guy into a salsa dancer but then actually delivers is well worth whatever she chooses to charge. She designed a customized plan that fit my learning style and ability level, kept me on track when things were difficult, and eventually built up my skills and confidence to the point where I can hold my own at a salsa club. Trust me, that was no easy feat! Ashleigh has a vast repertoire of techniques to reach the inner dancer inside anyone. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I like to find out all the wedding details such as: 1) What is the wedding song 2) When is the wedding 3) etc..... Next, I teach the couple 5 simple elements in ballroom dancing. This gets them prepared to dance as one unit. Lastly, I choreograph a routine to the wedding song according to how the couple wants it to look like.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelor’s degree in dance from the University of California, San Diego. Since the age of 9, I was classically trained in ballet, jazz, contemporary and theater arts. At 26, I became a world Latin Ballroom Dance Champion Finalist. Since 2014, I have held a ballroom dance teaching credential. To this day, I continue to receive professional training from some of the best coaches in the world and compete with my Professional partner around the United States.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I was 12, I performed at my first wedding for one of my family members. The joy and experience of being able to perform at someone's wedding was unforgettable. Unlike anything I had ever done before, I knew from that moment I wanted to be a part of the wedding dance forever.
