Introduction: I have over 30 years of experience in teaching sax, clarinet and flute to both children and adults.
My students have won auditions to get into select organizations such as the Regional Bands as well as the select organizations at their schools.
Music has always been something that I've really loved with a passion.
I think my students know this, and I hope this love becomes part of their life as well.
I really think that everyone needs something outside of himself/herself to work at, something that is important to him/her that he/she can carry with himself/herself throughout life.
It's an important lesson, I think, to learn that sustained effort will result in achieving mastery of a subject or discipline.

Larry has been my son's Alto Sax teacher for the past 5 years. Larry's patience, dedication, and caring approach is constantly exceeding our expectations. Thanks to Larry and his attention to details, my son (current HS Junior) has reached a significant level of achievement. Larry makes every lesson interesting and engaging while pushing the student to be the best. I cannot imagine a better teacher - if you (or your child) want to learn and excel while really understanding and appreciating music then Larry Garges is the teacher you need.

As someone in their 50s who has loved music for a long time, but never played an instrument, I was nervous about starting saxophone lessons. Larry has been the perfect teacher for me. He expects a lot, but he's patient. He takes the time to make sure I understand the mechanics of getting a good sound and is willing to entertain my many questions about anything--from embouchure to harmony. I can't say enough great things about Larry. He has made learning the saxophone a very satisfying experience.
