Wick was the Photographer at my wedding, August 2013, and I am so happy with the results. Wick was very attentive to what I was looking for in the photos from lighting to atmosphere to color. I appreciated his willingness to take risks when I asked him for some wacky shots, but at the same time, was able to rein it in and use his professional experience and knowledge to guide me to what ultimately was a better shot. In fact, some of my favorite shots are those that I didn’t even know were being taken. The weather turned a little dreary, and I was beginning to get discouraged, but Wick knew how to use the weather to get some of the best lighting and how to make the colors around us really pop! Wick was able to make everyone very comfortable and in what can easily be a very stressful day, Wick had the ability to make it light and to take away any stress and chaos. I appreciated his ability to truly capture a moment, to truly capture an emotion, to truly capture an idea. I also loved that he was willing to get on the floor if that meant a great photo; again, willing to take risks and sacrifice himself for the subject and the art. Thank you Wick for some truly beautiful pictures! You are a master at your craft!

Where to start... Andi was more than just a great photographer at my wedding. He was someone the guests became comfortable being around. Because he was so friendly and approachable, people gladly had their picture made throughout the reception. He was not overly-aggressive and did not interrupt or disrupt the experience. I had guests afterward asking who my photographer was not side they were so impressed. As a result, the moments he captured were ones that I will always cherish. I applaud his professionalism and willingness to go the extra mile to make sure that the product he delivered was perfect. His work is organic, professional and polished. He is easy to work with. Now- that was just my wedding. Andi is one of the best event photographers that I've met in my career in marketing and communications. He has an uncanny ability to capture artists on stage - when you see the photos, you hear the music. All-in-all, Andi is a solid photographer.

Amy is most caring and understanding person I have been around to work with as a photographer she was open to all my ID years for my wedding and her own she made my perfect day even better I still use my pictures from my wedding as profile pics because they just mean so much to me and I think her from the bottom my heart she is a very very hard worker it was about to rain and as a bride we all know that I was very upset because my wedding was on the beach but she made those pictures look amazing because of the clouds and everything else she did an outstanding job and thank you Amy from the bottom my heart

Briana photographed our wedding. She was on-time to all of our meetings, and was early the day of the wedding. Throughout the day she captured each moment, and had no hesitation speaking up about the positioning of people and location for the photos. She even worked with the restrictions of the church during the ceremony. We would highly recommend Briana!

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost for a photographer for a wedding?

Finding the right wedding photographer can make a big difference for your ceremony. Nationally, the average wedding photographer’s price ranges from $800 to $1,000, but costs can be much higher in areas like Chicago, New York or Los Angeles where some couples spend $2,000 to $5,000 or more for the photographer they want. Factors that can affect your wedding photographer prices include the photographer’s reputation and experience. Heavy hitters can command top rates, especially during wedding-season weekends. Day of the week also affects your cost. You may get a $200 discount on wedding photographer prices if you get married on a Friday in November rather than a Saturday in June. Time onsite is also an important cost factor. Hiring a photographer to snap photos from the moment you wake up until after last call at the reception is going to cost more than five hours of pictures during the day. Multiple photographers, special lighting, and videography will also increase your costs. Ultimately you want to find someone who has a style you love and can provide the number of edited shots you want for a price you can handle. Learn more about hiring a wedding photographer.
