Dr Collins is great with kids, and is a fabulous music instructor. She is organized and loves her job, and it shows while she's with the kids and organizing events. I would work with Dr. Collins again.

I have been offering private drum lessons since fall of 1996. I am now based out of Arab Alabama which is 30 miles South of Huntsville. Through the present and for years, I have primarily taught out of my home; but now, I have expanded and will work with students at their homes, if they have the equipment they need to be able and demonstrate and give a proper lesson. This depends on what area they are wanting to pursue or learn in. I am a very firm believer in proper technique and fundamentals, whether a student wants to learn to read or learn by ear technique. I also provide a lot of free material—if reading is involved, as well as other aids like videos, DVDs, etc.—that can help the student enhance the learning experience. I also offer audibly recorded lessons and hope to expand soon to video in the very near future. I have worked with a lot of students from 8 years of age to 40 and over. The majority of my work has been at the local level with students that are wanting to improve their skills for beginner through high school band, but I have also worked with a lot of students that just want to learn to play the drum set—whether it be as a pastime with bands, church or just whatever the student wants to achieve. You can check my website for a more detailed information, especially with any past and present students, band directors, and other people that know me as a player and teacher. Rates are based on the situation or if the student wants to travel to me, or I travel to them.

Unlike many music teachers, I enjoy and have success working with very young students, as well as adults. As soon as a child knows and recognizes the ABC's, they are ready to begin piano lessons. Toddlers can learn to sing on tune and learn about music theory through rhythm play.

Drum Lessons I teach rudimental snare/tenors/bass drumming and drum set around the Madison, AL area. I've been playing since 1999 and am currently staffed at Guitar Center as an instructor. My previous experience includes a BS in music production and have marched snare with the Sound of the South marching band. I've taught drumlines, bandcamps, and in public schools as a band/choral director. I push my students to become the best they can in alignment with their goals, which has included auditioning for All-State, preparing solos, preparing for public performances, drum line auditions, drum set auditions, and many more. DJ Lessons I've been DJing since 2006 and am still active in performing at clubs, weddings, and corporate events for crowds as large as 500 people. The skills I can teach you include manual beat matching, mixing, basic scratching, working with vinyl, using Traktor, external FX, PA setup, and more. Don't be stuck out there as a DJ who gets judged negatively by other DJs. I will teach you the skills you need to stand with any of the greats! Recording/Production I am also an electronic music producer with tracks released with Point Blank, London on Beatport, iTunes and many more. My experience includes an internship at Dark Horse Recording in Franklin, TN. I am the author of Warpflow, a music production guide on workflow, which takes readers from beginning to end in completing a track. I can help you with every facet of your project including studio setup, sound creation, recording, mixing, and basic mastering.
