I had no idea what to expect when I decided to hire a personal trainer to help me with my weight problem. I guess I've watched too many movies where the personal trainer was more like a military drill sergeant than someone who actually cared about me as a person. All I can say about Tim is that from our very first meeting, he was genuinely concerned with helping me reach my fitness goals. I explained to him that I had not exercised in a number of years and that I really wished to lose 15 pounds during our time together. Tim told me to follow his instructions without question and he would do everything in his power to help me achieve my goal; I did just that. Now twelve weeks later, I can honestly say that I cannot remember the last time I felt this good. What are my certifications? I am a certified personal trainer through the National Personal Training Institute and National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM). I am certified in kettle bell, suspension, and functional training. What is your training philosophy? Each person is different so an understanding of movements that a client can/cannot do and the reason behind it are essential to overall success. I train each person to move in everyday movements called functional training. I train to correct deficiencies that will improve overall everyday life. I also train for strength and power, anything that will successfully get a client to their goals. Without food we will lose the fitness battle so I will create food plans for each client slowly changing bad eating habits so successfully reach their goal. Diet is 90% fitness with the other 10% being the hard work clients endure to transform. Best success story? 64 year old male getting ready for a knee replacement came to me to strengthen his legs before surgery. I took him through progressions of the optimal training model and taught him proper nutrition. In the end after 12 sessions with me he cut 6% body fat, lowered his cholesterol to below average, cut his blood pressure medication in half (stayed on as a precaution) and took him out of a pre-diabetic diagnosis. He maintained body weight due to replacement of fat with lean muscle mass. He was finally able to do a sit up (actually did 15 reps for 3 sets) on our last session before surgery.
