Introduction: My vision is to help my clients pursue a lifetime of sustainable health and fitness. In order to do this, it requires a complete lifestyle change or the results can never last. I educate my clients on sleep, hydration, nutrition, and human movement. We excercise smarter, and provide opportunities to use your fitness in fun and new ways. We have at least monthly "adventures" like hiking, climbing, volleyball, triathlons, obstacle races, bowling, etc. Before I started training people, I never anticipated the impact that my clients would have on my life. Its great to see someone get their first pullup, reach their weightloss goals, or get a personal record on their squat. But it is even more amazing when my clients tell me how their experience in the gym has possitively effected other aspects of their life.

Devin is a rare species-he makes going to the gym fun. Ok yes it's hard too, but I'm feeling stronger every week I work with him. I can see it in the mirror. My friends and family are mentioning it too. When I met Devin, I stated my goals of getting stronger and not getting injured. He took a lot of time both to understand exactly what I wanted and to craft a program that would get me where I wanted to go. The more weight I lift the more interested I have become in understanding how the body works, the relationship between the mind and the muscle. Devin's unlike any trainer I have worked with, he actually understands the physiology behind what he's teaching, so training with him is part being an athlete and part a student of the human form. I seriously never knew how much your brain has to do with how fit, strong and healthy you can be as an athlete. One of the things I like best about this fitness program is that it changes enough to be interesting but stays the same enough that you can master important movements like squats and deadlifts. But it's definitely not all about weights. He's got me upside down on the rings, doing L-Sits (a gymnastic form) and conditioning work on everything from jump rope to bike to rowing machine (I really hate that thing). When it's tough there are times he'll cheer me on and times he'll say give it a rest. I have come to see that leaving a pile of puke on the mat is not going to get me to come back to the gym, but fun will. It's surprising how much sculpting, strengthening and toning can happen when you commit to just keep going and make it part of your routine. So what can I say, the guy's a gem and if you're lucky enough to train with him you'll learn things that will last a lifetime and change your life for the better.

Devin is a great coach. He helps encourage everyone to try their hardest and achieve their personal goals! He is very knowledgeable and explains body mechanics and nutrition as well.

Devin was my personal trainer when I first joined Cactus Gym. He's friendly, professional and most importantly, very patient. Fitness training can be very boring, a good coach is very important for continuous improving ourselves and pushing the limits.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    I offer a FREE introductory session to explain our unique program and to see if it will fit your goals. The session will end with a workout to give you a taste of things to come. The mandatory foundations course to learn all of the techniques and moves are 10 one hour sessions ($65 per class). This is $650-however, if you bring a friend the price discounted for each person! After finishing fundamentals, you have 3 options: 1) Continue with 1 on 1 personal training 2) attend group training for $189/month 3) Attend group training with continuing 1 on 1 sessions at $$249-$400+ per month

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

    I am in the business of helping ordinary people live extraordinary lives. This goes way beyond just looking better, targeting belly fat, toning, or any other buz words out there. I help people increase their ability to do more with the amazing body God gave them. For some it means losing weight. For most it means getting stronger, faster, and more flexible. Many need to change their nutrition and get better sleep. I really want to change most peoples goals away from looks(form), and towards performance(function). In my experience most people look better when we focus on performance, and live more full, happy lives, too.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

    Hire a provider with whom you feel comfortable and trust. Safety and having a coach for life is our motto! The staff has full time coaches and trainers and it is our job to help you obtain results. We want to see you healthy day after day. We offer a free consultation so you can see if you even like us before you decide to train with us!
