Carrie D. says, "Dan and I met almost three years ago through a co-worker who was already utilizing him to accomplish his fitness goals. While I had been much more fit in my previous years, I was in pretty bad shape and likely the most unhealthy I have ever been. Dan took my workouts at my pace and slowly started increasing the intensity and repetitions. I quickly started incorporating his food consumption suggestions and found myself looking forward to our workouts, which I had never done before. We started off pretty slow, but almost two years ago I decided to jump in head first. Since then, Dan has helped me to lose over 90 pounds and I am what he and I call "mental game strong" now. We have adjusted my workouts (those with him and on my own) to accomplish each goal I had set along the way. After Covid hit and I was not able to workout in the gym any longer, he helped me purchase a few key pieces of equipment and devise some workouts that used mostly resistance and body weight that I was able to do in my home. It has been a little over a year since I have really stopped losing the weight, but I have been able to keep it off. In addition, I am still working on toning, and he and I are adjusting my workouts as I become stronger and more active. Dan has pulled me out of a negative place mentally and I would never want to give up the confidence he helped me find in myself. He's always encouraging me in whatever way is needed at the time. Sometimes that means pushing me harder and sometimes that means encouraging me to take a step back ant not push so hard. Dan is wonderful and I would recommend him to anyone in any shape with any fitness goals. He's fun to workout with, like a best friend, and so passionate about what he does. He has without a doubt, helped me extend my life and the quality of living. I am so thankful to have met him!"See more

Denzel F. says, "I highly recommend working with Elyte Fitness! Coach Olu is an excellent coach / trainer who puts a lot of care into building a workout and nutrition plan that fits your lifestyle and goals. What I like about working with Coach Olu is he is not trying to sell you a quick fix, he creates a long term sustainable plan that proves to provide consistent results over the long haul. (As seen by my experience losing weight and improving on the overall appearance of my physique.) With Coach Olu’s extensive background I felt confident that he could help me to overcome any challenge I faced in my journey, and he is always very positive and encouraging and he always seems to have an answer for every problem you run into. He has also helped me to recover from past injuries while becoming stronger and more fit overall improving the way that I look and feel. Having previously tried to reach my fitness goals on my own, the workouts provided are a step up from your standard training splits you find online and they seem to provide you with faster results. Grateful for my experience and highly recommend working with Elyte Fitness."See more

FAQs

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

The cost of fitness boot camps depends on how often you go, the package you are purchasing (or if you are paying a drop-in fee), the location of the bootcamp, the equipment the instructors provide, and the background and reputation of the instructor. Smaller towns and areas with a lower cost of living typically have lower rates for boot camp services than big cities and regions with a higher cost of living. If you’re paying per class on a drop-in basis, expect to pay anywhere from $12 to $25 or more, depending on the region and the instructor. When you purchase a package of classes, typically the more you buy at one time, the cheaper each class is. The same boot camp class might be $20 for a drop-in student, $15 for a student who pays for 10 classes per month, and $10 for a student who pays for 30 classes a month. Studio space can also affect costs, so if your boot camp takes place in a high-end gym with top-of-the-line equipment, the prices will likely be higher than a class that meets in an outdoor space with limited or no equipment. Shop around to find the right type of boot camp class and the right instructor for you.

Fitness boot camps are a heart-pounding way to boost your fitness level. Boot camps are led by a fitness instructor and are based on the concept of military boot camps — intensive workout programs to get new recruits into shape, quickly. Fitness boot camps encourage camaraderie, and the group momentum helps participants get through fast-paced intervals of cardio, isometric training, strength training and endurance drills. Classes may range anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes, and usually meet multiple days per week. Boot camps often run a specific duration of time, say four to six weeks, which creates a team-like environment for class members. Other boot camps run year-round and students purchase package pricing for classes, similar to subscriptions that allow them a set amount of classes per week or per month.

Boot camps can be held indoors at a gym, outdoors in a park or on a beach, in a backyard — anywhere there’s room for running, jumping and sweating. Some instructors also provide DVD and online boot camps. You can also find boot camps tailored to your heart’s desire, such as bikini boot camp, or boot camps for new mothers. Boot camps offer an intense workout and are usually led by energetic instructors pushing you to do your best, but unlike military boot camp drill sergeants, fitness boot camp instructors typically don’t use intimidation or punishment to spur you on. Check with your doctor before starting a boot camp if you have health concerns, and always let your instructor know ahead of time if you have injuries.
