I absolutely love what I do. There is nothing else I would rather be doing! Teaching is my passion and I love my students. My work is my life and music is my dream come true! The thing I love most about my job is watching my students grow becoming amazing musicians. Music changes lives and I love experiencing that!

About

I don't think all teachers take the time to make sure their students are playing with proper technique. I'm surprised how often I inherit a student from another teacher and the student doesn't have a solid foundation of playing basics or knowledge. Although I like to be light-hearted and make lessons fun, I care very much about how students play and their understanding of the music. Being a part of a student's love of music and seeing them grow with the instrument is fun and very rewarding.

About

One of the main things that the kids in the St. George, Utah area have is musical talent. I have been very impressed with every one of my students. One of the biggest developments is using the knowledge available of cognitive learning, and adapting the teaching to an optimal learning process. Another thing unique to us is that our students love to play and practice because we help them play and learn the songs they want to learn and play! We help students progress with advanced songs, but make sure that they have fun songs that they are interested in so that they have fun practicing rather then the "dragging the feet" feeling. We have genres from Classical to any type of fiddling, Celtic, hoedown, cajun, gypsy, blues and many more! Seeing my students progress, love violin and fiddle music, and feel great after preforming their songs for their family, friends, and recitals. That sums up why I teach. One of the personal perks of my job is being able to learn every day. I love learning about the brain, and cognitive learning, creating a model of learning to play the violin, focused on the understanding we have of the mind. This has been the focus of my study and teaching development. I have seen significant improvement in my students learning and skill developments. Last but not least, I love performing for others, and getting my students in front of their parents and friends playing the songs they have worked on with diligence.

About

My daughter absolutely loved taking violin lessons from Ali. Ali is not only an incredible musician, but a patient educator and a kind person. She held my daughter to high musical standards while also making the lessons fun. Being an Eastman trained musician myself, I know that this is not always easy to achieve. I would definitely recommend Ali for anyone seeking a private violin/viola teacher or a performing violinist or violist. You will not be disappointed.

About

I teach violin and viola lessons in Mesa, Arizona. I graduated from Northern Arizona University with a bachelor's degree in instrumental performance on the viola, and I was trained to teach the highly successful Suzuki Method. My studio offers instruction, based on the Suzuki Method, but I am also trained to teach traditionally. I have performed with the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra and the Verde Valley Sinfonietta professionally. Opportunities to perform are offered twice a year at my studio's private recitals, where I also choose to accompany my students personally on the piano. Your family and friends can come to a cozy setting and watch the progress you have made in your lessons. My students range in age, from age 5 to 60, and I can tailor my lesson plans to meet your specific needs. I offer my expert advice on any question you may have concerning supplies, music, etc. I'm excited to meet and guide you in your musical aspirations. About

My training in violin and viola comes from distinguished performers in the classical music community. I have studied with Nicholas Cords (of Brooklyn Rider), Lawrence Dutton (of the Emerson String Quartet), Karen Ritscher, and Nancy Buck. My teachers have been taught by some of the most eminent string pedagogues of their generation, including Dorothy Delay, Karen Tuttle, Lilian Fuchs, Harvey Shapiro, and Heidi Castleman. This broad survey of teaching styles and philosophies gives me a great breadth of knowledge which I apply to all of my students. Additionally, my studies in musicology and music theory will help me teach basic ear training, music theory, and music history as needed to thrive as a young musician. Finally, and most importantly, I want my students to enjoy their music making, express themselves creatively, and have fun! Whether it be beginners, who are just learning the basics of sound production and proper posture, or advanced students, who are preparing for solo competitions or orchestral and chamber performances, my students will feel empowered and strengthened by their studies with me. I cater my teaching style to my student's personalities and ages. All a student needs to study with me is an instrument and a notebook to keep track of progress.

I am 26 years old, I took piano lessons from the time I was 6 to 14, so I am already familiar with notes and reading music. I really want to learn violin because I want an instrument that is more mobile. I've always been in love with Celtic music, and would really like to be able to improvise on the violin in addition to reading music.
