There's a reason that Janet is the Galaxy Girl because, as a trainer, she is out of this world!! I have been working with Janet for 6 months now, and I recommend her to everyone. Training is not a hobby for her; it is her purpose and passion. When Janet trains, she "holds space" for me. I'm a tall, thin, hard gainer. I've been working out for over 7 years on my own. I saw some gains, but I wanted to see more progress. As a graduate student living in another state, I was visiting Phoenix during winter break and decided to have a few training sessions with Janet. My hope was that I could learn a few basic technical changes that I could incorporate into my workouts that would maximize outcomes. This was 5 months ago. Hands down the most valuable thing I got out of working with Janet was her holistic and intuitive approach. She knew how to explain the workouts in ways that made sense to me. She listens very closely and seemed to just get a sense about what I needed, not simply on a physical but also the mental aspect of the workout. It was very clear to her that because I was a hard gainer, I simply was not aware of many of the muscles I was trying to work out. Every session with her was thus highly focused on emphasizing the full and accurate engagement with the muscles I wanted to work. Lats, for instance. Doing lat pull downs my whole life, and it was not until Janet was able to demonstrate how it should FEEL (internally), that I actually began to understand how off I had been. Same thing went for shoulders. Since working with Janet, I have never been more aware of the muscles I'm working and focused on my reps (as I try to maintain engagement with the specific muscle I'm working). My workouts have increased in intensity and I have seen gains. It's been a bit of a boon for my workouts. Janet delivered on what I was wanting, without question. Unlike my brief run ins with other trainers here and there, Janet actually catered my workout to me, personally. Not just in terms of physical goals, but me as a person. She is quite intuitive and, for me, that mattered because it helped get to the core of at least one reason for my hard gains. Who knew the mind needed to be so involved in a workout? At the end of every session, Janet provided feedback (including some write up of the sets we did that day). She is filed with energy, positivity, and is kind.

I think Janet is the best personal trainer in AZ. I would never go to anyone else. I suffer from chronic lower back pain and am just lazy when it comes to going to the gym and Janet helped me on both levels. She helped reduce my lower back pain with her recommended exercises and stretching techniques and made going to the gym fun. Knowing I booked a training session with Janet made me get to the gym and got me to exercise- which was my goal. She totally motivates you and becomes your best cheerleader. She is extremely knowledgable about body-building and nutrition and definitely practices what she preaches- which I admire and respect. She is a joy to be around too. She's very funny and she really cares about her clients' health and well-being. If you're looking for a great personal trainer to make you look and feel better.... CALL JANET!

Very knowledgeable about all aspects of training; nutrition and physical work out, works you at your pace with and knows when to push you more. She practices what she teaches. The facility Scottsdale School of Fitness where she trains is a state of the art Gym. Fees are within reason. She knows how to guide women above 50 through the menopause and other areas of growing old. You cannot go wrong by just talking with her.
