I recently completed one year at Strive Personal Fitness. Meeting Matt Jarvis and deciding that he was the man that I wanted to work with was perhaps one of the best decisions of my life. I walked through the doors of Strive Personal Fitness 25 pounds heavier along with heart and blood pressure issues. 61 years old at the time and I can honestly say "unfit." I don't know why but Matt believed in me from day one and as the weeks and months passed I started to believe in myself too. The physical challenges weren't easy but Matt taught me to let go of my self doubt, to dig deep and to constantly move forward. I appreciate that he challenges me as he brings me to physical heights I never dreamed could be possible. Every accomplishment brings a new goal. I highly recommend Matt. My concerns about starting personal training were: I haven't ever lifted weights before, I wasn't sure about having a male personal trainer, I thought I might hate it. I have been to other Personal Trainer's before. I have gone to enough to get a general idea of what to expect. Before meeting Matt, and visiting Underground Fitness I was completely expecting the "car salesman" pitch. I expected to walk into the gym during my first free session and workout for maybe 35-40 minutes then be taken to a big old desk and sold a pile of packages I could not afford. My expectations were shattered, and Underground Fitness broke the Personal Training stereotype for many reasons. First, I explained to Matt my personal goals (shed the fat, tone, and look good for my wedding that was 6 weeks away). Matt listened and was excited to take on the challenge. Second, Underground Fitness offers two free sessions which includes a nutrition plan breakdown. And can we talk about the nutrition plan? Without revealing their secrets it is COMPLETELY attainable and you do not have to buy special meals or starve yourself. Third, Matt Hoodie, the owner, is a walking success story. Matt has been where most of us have been and currently are. He lost a mountain of weight and has shaped his body to what most of us believe to be ideal. His education in Dietetics and Exercise Science offers much more than meets to eye because he can explain his motives behind certain things and teach us what we are doing wrong. Overall, I will never go anywhere else for my personal training needs. I still have a long road ahead of me, however for the first time ever after meeting a trainer I felt like my goals were achievable in within reasonable reach.

I've only just begun my training with Brian but it's easy to tell this is going to be just exactly what I was looking for. I needed someone knowledgeable who would know how to work with certain joint issues I have and he most definitely does. He understands the whole picture, including nutrition, and it gives me a lot of confidence that I'm going to easily hit my goals. To add to that, when you hire a personal trainer you have a certain expectation of physical fitness and Brian is one of those that "looks" like a personal trainer, so it's obvious that he takes his own advice. I was always intimidated to join a gym and never thought I would have a personal trainer!! When I met Derek, I was surprised how caring he was. he understood that I did not have a lot of experience working out or using weighs or machines. Derek listened to my short and long term goals and tailored a program that would help me with my nutritional, resistance training and cardiovascular needs to meet these goals. With constant encouragement from Derek, following his nutritional plan and being accountable (making my training appointments with him), i started to see results within weeks. Within 4 months i lost 40 lbs and exceeded my short term goal. For my long term goal, Derek worked on my endurance and strength training. My LBM suddenly became my new focus. Derek is meticulous when it comes to using any of the machines or free weights. Derek watches over you like a hawk! He makes sure you get the most benefit from the machines by accurately calculating the amount of weight to push,, showing you the proper form to use to get the best results and most importantly, making sure you don't hurt yourself. I learned to listen to Derek, follow his instruction and be accountable. And as a result, i am in the best shape of my life! I am 51 years old and can say i've never felt better, physically and mentally. I thank Derek for getting me to this point and providing guidance and encouragement. Derek applies the knowledge and methods of exercise acquired from his degree and certification in Exercise Science. Being educated and certified to provide the ultimate personal training experience for his clients is what sets Derek apart from his peers. He will ask you for your feedback during exercises so that he can tailor a custom plan to meet your goals. He is flexible, and will plan with you to make workout sessions that meet your schedule. Most of all I appreciated how experienced he was. During my time with him, he would explain the mechanics of the exercise, which helped me feel confidant I was doing it correctly. He made me an extremely detailed diet plan, and spent time explaining nutrition in applicable and easy to understand ways. I wasn't disappointed with any aspect of his service. She is an exceptional trainer who is also a foodie nutritionist. So knowledgeable. I owe her my life. Literally. Not only do you get a feel for Dolores' expertise and capabilities, she provides a comprehensive assessment of your physical strength, cardio-fitness, and flexibility. Dolores with Club FItspiration is a fantastic health coach. I have a hectic work schedule with lots of travel, so a regular workout routine was not happening. Dolores was able to create a fitness program that was flexible and very effective for me. She combined training me in person with Online training to keep me on track no matter what city I was in. I've had several trainers in the past, but I have to say Jessica is by far the best. She is extremely knowledgeable and actually cares about not only my health and fitness but she cares about my well-being and me as a person. She's laser focused during our sessions and constantly ensuring that I have appropriate biomechanics and technique. Another thing she does that none of my other trainers ever did is a functional movement screen. After the screen and the corrective exercises she prescribed I've been moving better and with less aches and pains than ever in my life! Also, she is very up to date on any and everything related to exercise or fitness as she is always informing me of some fascinating new research she's discovered. Last summer I decided I was ready to look into exercise assist type options - gym, personal trainer, classes, etc. During my search, I came across Keleigh at Balanced Strength. I liked the idea of being able to work out in a home-based setting, and she had excellent reviews, so I emailed her. She was prompt in her reply and very courteous. I met with Keleigh the following week and I learned just how challenging Pilates is. But I liked it enough to go back . Keleigh creates challenging workouts, but she's also very good at making sure you rest when you need to. And if something doesn't feel right during any part of the workout, she's good at making instant modifications to avoid injury. Keleigh is also good about changing things up. Minus a few scheduling conflicts, I've seen her weekly for 6 months now and have only repeated a couple of exercises that I can remember. We have also incorporated a few HIIT workouts and even a hybrid of HIIT with Pilates. I have struggled with liking exercise my entire life, but I actually look forward to my weekly sessions with Keleigh. I highly recommend her!

I just got started with Dane. I have had several trainers before, and I like the in-home training, because of my time and business constraints. Saving that driving time to go to a gym is helpful to me. He has been excellent - more volume than I had before, more variation in the workouts, and he has an intense attention to my technique - not letting me do it wrong or cheat. He wants me doing it correctly to get the maximium benefit and the maximum safety. He has been very personable and attentive to my needs, and I am highly impressed. Plus I am already seeing benefits. I should also mention that he has emphasized and given me a lot of dietary input as well, and he has enlightened me on some mistakes I was making with my diet, so I am impressed that this is moving forward on a lot of different fronts. I have been with Miles for about a month now. I found him when in search of a Personal Trainer who has experience working with "injured" people. I was pleasantly surprised to hear his own injury story and how his sports degree and self developed skills helped him go back to his top shape. It was a no brainer after that. Miles is a young, pleasant and highly professional trainer. He works out of a humble gym with enough equipment to rotate a training program numerous times. He is extremely observant during training and has a lot of tricks to keep the trainee safe while pushing him or her to the limit. At the end of each training I feel completely pleasantly exhausted with no presence of pain. Depending on your motivation and your current situation, strange things may happen to your body immediately. It was amazing to realize my knee pain went away after two sessions. I felt compelled to text him the next day and let him know! Whether you are healthy and need a trainer who can scientifically train you or in less than perfect health condition, give this guy a chance. His physique is the proof of his skills!

Gage is the best trainer/ body work coach-massage therapist I have ever had. I am a unique patient, I have a spinal cord injury which causes right side weakness. Gage put together a customized program to strengthen my muscles and help with body stabilization and walking. Gage is extremely knowledgeable, he knows the body inside and out. I am confident training with Gage because he not only tells me what exercises to do but he explains why. Gage has showed me an overall healthy lifestyle, he measured my BMI and is keeping track of my progress. He also suggests meals to go with my program. I found this fantastic gym through Thumbtack. Cory replied promptly to all the emails I sent. The gym is very clean with great facilities , toilets and shower all spotlessly clean. I worked with Alex there and he is amazing , very knowledgable and gives a great workout. I haven't worked with Cory but have seen him with other people and was impressed as well. Both Cory and Alex are very friendly and welcoming. There are plenty of parking spaces close by so that isnt an issue. Zach Pearson from Pearson Fitness has been a personal trainer for more than 10 years. For him, this is a long-term career helping others achieve their goals. He's always on-time, reliable, professional, supportive and yet holds you accountable for not just your workout routine but for how you eat and your overall lifestyle. I have struggled on/off with trying to tone-up and eat well for most of my adult life and the only times I have shown real progress are when I follow his guidance and direction without straying.He does a great job at switching up workout routines and watching clients like myself with our form in order to prevent injuries and get maximum results. I just started training with Gabe and so far I am extremely impressed with the program he has put together to help me build the strength and endurance I will need as I continue to tackle more and more obstacle course races. I have never really had a tremendous amount of upper body strength and I appreciate the unique tools Gabe is utilizing to make me stronger. I also appreciate his checking in with me post workout to understand how I am feeling physically. This is my first investment in a personal trainer and I am fortunate to be working with Gabe.
