He actually hasn't arrived yet, but L&R had excellent credentials, responded quickly, and addressed all my questions re: residential grade fabrics versus the high end commercial that he provided as references. As a designer, I have used both commercially graded "rubs" type fabric but this was a Zimmer and Rhode (I believe is the name....) ikiat with crewel embroidery that I had (minimally) stained with a highlighter. Therefore, it needed a gentle wand for the embroidered areas, special treatment for what are probably some kind of petroleum based chemicals (that would be in markers), and general cleaning for lightly soiled use but on a fabric that has never been cleaned. He was great with a super prompt reply, answered all my questions including those about product used and any post-cleaning smell that will dissipate, or at least does with the better contractors. I'm not a real "green" researcher simply because sometimes I have felt that I paid quite a bit through these type of services who sell cleaning services, but their product and "after smell" didn't clean the piece very well and kept a smell in the upholstered piece (past situation with carpet and couch when I had things cleaned in Arizona a year ago). So, until he actually comes and cleans, I can't give an actual review on the work, but thus far in terms of quick, accessible reply and his understanding of my concerns of commercial vs. residential, he has been very direct and helpful.
Having been a contractor and having worked with contractors over many years, I am very impressed with the work Rick did for me. I look for three things in a contractor: honesty, communication, and hustle. Price is important but not everything. When you get a contractor like Rick who walks his talk, gets back to you immediately, and actually wants to do a great job then you know you are getting your money’s worth. I know that Rick sounds too good to be true but he is. I had a pool that needed to be demolished and covered up. We ran into a few difficulities with the job that he immediately communicated to me. He figured out a way around the problems and the job got done. Rick is a top notch contractor and I would refer him without hesitation!
Jairo (and a couple of helpers)did a beautiful job installing tile over our concrete shower pan and sink backsplash. He clean up the floor around it when done. He showed up on time and got the job done as scheduled. I recommend and will look forward to use again.
I was looking to compare the price of a metal building to conventional construction. I was very up front with Robert about what I was looking for. He took the time to give me some estimates and talk with me on the project. The metal building is a better choice for our needs and Robert agreed. That kind of honesty and integrity will have me calling him again when I need a construction project. He did not try and sell me something for the sake of a job! I look forward to working with him in the future!
As it turns out, Ociel is helping us with a lot more than fence building! We haven't even gotten to the "fence" part yet, as he and his crew were able to do other things as well. They've raised our east side block wall by 24", reinstalling the brick caps on top, and the results are excellent. His crew is personable, in addition to being highly skilled, and they make sure everything is done RIGHT. Very, very nice fellows too. They'll also be raising the north wall, eventually the east wall (the "fence" part, which we may end up doing in block rather than wood), and helping to level the far back yard for an above-ground pool. These guys are great, and their prices are very competitive. Both my husband and I highly recommend them to anyone, and will certainly continue to use them in the future.
Excellent - recently Siva Diversified Construction pour a concrete patio at my home - Very pleased with the quality of work done along the experience of working with the crew in completion the project. A very professional company from start to finish - Ty David
Installed wood laminate flooring on concrete subfloor. Removed/added floor molding. Nick was a quick worker, showed up when he said he would, and did the work on short notice. Highly recommended.
Hired Az Custom Landscapes to add additional bricks to a brickwall fence. The contractor's skill was excellent and his job was perfect. The contractor even took the additional step to work from my neighbor's yard to ensure that the work was properly done. The price was affordable and I highly recommend this contractor. I plan to use him in the future. G.M.A.
Dealing with Rober at Bedoy Builders was a pleasure right from the start. He was responsive to the original messages via the Thumbtack app, and was even more responsive via phone/txt/pics after we agreed to work together. I originally wanted to put in an 8X2X6" pad for dropping my trailer onto that occasionally weighs in excess of 40K#. He not only suggested changes to what I wanted for longevity of the concrete reasons, but he also suggested widening it as to make it easier on me when parking the trailer. I ended up with a 10X3X8" pad that's not only rebar reinforced but also had the fibers added to it for additional rigidity. As he stands behind his work I have zero doubt that I will have any problems with this pad. We will be using him for all of our future concrete and building projects!
Located out of town, working with Michael Espinoza, of Blue Mountain Renovations, made the flooring renovation process easy. Michael was willing to send pictures and videos of the project, made recommendations for additional repairs, and even managed sub-contractors to complete more than just the flooring. I will think of Blue Mountain Renovations for any future work that's needed.
A microburst of wind blew approximately 30% of the roof off my mothers house. The wind was so strong it peeled the roof off from the front of the house to rear, and as the material peeled back it even moved the cooler, taking out a ventilation pipe as well. My mom contacted her insurance company and they sent out a contractor to estimate the cost to repair the roof. Much to our surprise, the quoted price to repair the roof by this company, which shall remain anonymous, was several thousand dollars; perhaps the price we imagined it would be to do the entire roof. This price seemed quite exorbitant to repair just a portion of the roof, so we decided to get a couple other quotes on our own. To say the least, this company was very underhanded in their dealings. The contractor actually contacted the insurance company and told them that we had already signed a contract for them to do the work. This was obviously an attempt to get the insurance company committed, and it almost worked. The insurance company sent a check with the contractors name, which had to be canceled as we were not going to get a partial repair at such a high cost. As you can imagine, this was a very stressful time for my mother and I because if any rains came, water would have easily gotten into the house causing further damage. I decided to search for reputable companies that could be trusted and I found Pro Star Construction, owed by Octavio Vasquez. Through my thorough search on the internet, I found many glowing reviews for the Octavio Vasquez which put me at ease. I contacted Octavio and he came out to survey the damage and spoke with my mother in person while I was at work. Although all of the positive reviews I read on Octavio and Pro Star Construction had put me at ease, I was still quite surprised when I spoke to my mother about her experience speaking with Octavio in person. My mother, who is a pretty good judge of a persons character, said that he was very informative about what the roof actually needed, what he would be doing if we went with him, how long it would take, etc. He was just very informative about the entire process and we actually learned a bit about roofing just from speaking with him; for example, the pros and cons of oil based versus water based reflective coatings. Octavio presented 3 detailed quotes: One for just repairing the damaged area, another for repairing the damaged area and maintenance (reflective coat on undamaged portion), and a quote to redo the entire roof. Octavios quote to repair the entire roof was only about $700.00 more than the shady contractor wanted for repairing just the damaged area, which was only about 25-30% of the roof! We decided to have Octavio do the entire roof because of the great pricing and because it had been about 20 years since the last roof was put on. To put it into perspective how competitive on pricing Octavios company is, we did have another quote by another highly rated company, and their quote was over $2,000.00 higher to do the entire roof. Additionally, Octavio displayed his integrity on several occasions because he had many opportunities to do work which was not necessary and he flat out told us it did not need to be done. For example, the house is in need of a paint job and the paint has peeled off of the fascia- wood at the edges of the roof in many areas. This wood looks bad in some areas, and to a person with limited knowledge, it would appear that this wood should be replaced, but Octavio said that it just needs to be prepped and painted, and replacement was not necessary. Can you imagine how many contractors would have been chomping at the bit to do this extra work? Octavio (Pro Star Construction) is a throwback to a time long passed. At time where contractors and other businesses were not just in it to win it and rip people off by overcharging and doing work thats not needed. If you need your roof done, or any other type of work (Octavio does other work as well), I highly recommend you contact Pro Star Construction. I know whenever we need other work done; Octavio will be getting a call from us.
Brian is professional, competent, and did an excellent job for us replacing two bathroom faucets. He has a lot of experience from his background as a contractor and now does handyman services. He's new to Tucson but not to the work and we will absolutely, definitely use him again for projects. He was also clean and neat in his work and appearance. I would give him 10 stars if it was available!
I had Bedoy Builders stucco and paint part of my house. The reason I chose them was because of the great reviews they received on this web site. Robert Bedoy and his crew did a great job, my wife and I are very happy with the results. Robert believes that doing quality workmanship, is the best way to grow his business. I would definitely recommend him!
He can do anything! He fixed a pocket door that no one else would touch. He sanded and patched some rough exterior wood and painted it to look new. They painted exterior block walls. Very high standard of quality and customer satisfaction. We are very happy with Robin and Ray's work.
Eric was completely trustworthy and he worked very hard to deliver the best possible product given difficult circumstances (ie working around many other contractors). Eric’s work is outstanding and he is extremely flexible to work with!
retired major contractor in tucson, phx, las vegas
Ricardo and his team laid a great concrete driveway and worked with our existing fencing to create an awesome RV gate for us. We found him to be prompt and efficient and he did an outstanding job for us. We are very pleased with the results. We highly recommend him!
Jonathan was the 3rd and best quote I received on removing about 5 yards of concrete debris from a pool Reno...he stayed in close communication from start to finish and did the job quickly along with picking up some additional debris in the space. He had the equipment and that was a big plus! I am anxious to use him for some other projects involving actual concrete work.
Josh and his helpers did a great job putting external foam board insulation and stucco on the cinder block casita I use for a home office. Prior to the job my AC couldn't get summer afternoon temps below 95, now I can keep it at a comfortable 75. Rare for a contractor, Josh always showed up when he said he would. He kept in close touch with me by phone or text, always letting me know when he would be there. He worked long hours in terrible heat. He was always friendly, positive, and thoughtful. He bid the job flat rate, and he put in more time and care than I expected -- no corner cutting. The project was complicated and neither of us had done a job just like this -- we were using poly ISO foam board covered with a base of cement stucco and a topcoat of acrylic stucco. I wanted the cement base to keep the woodpeckers from hammering into the foam board. Before Josh, I talked with another stucco contractor who was going to hammer concrete nails to fasten the foam board and wire lath to the cinder blocks. Aside possible issues with fracturing the cinder block, the nails would have transferred heat through the foam board. So we ended up using special plastic anchors I ordered from Amazon. Each of 300 anchors required a 5/16th inch hole to be drilled in the cinder block. Josh cheerfully did it this way, even though it increased the work, and the final result is solid and there was no loss in insulation due to bridging. Josh came back a couple days after I paid him to clean up the site. I'm more used to contractors disappearing when it comes time for clean up. All in all Josh was great to work with and gave excellent value for money. I've overseen many home renovation projects with many contractors, and Josh made it easy!
Southwest Patio Concepts was given the job of totally reworking our back patio and front walkway and entrance. The job entailed concrete demolition, concrete pouring, tiling, and paver installation. We are an extremely demanding customer in terms of both design and execution of design and SPC handled both requirements without fault. It should be noted that in addition to executing the job to perfection, SPC was the best contractor we've ever used in regards to care for the existing structure and cleanliness, both during and after the work was complete. We can recommend James Valdez and Southwest Patio Concepts without reservation.
Concrete driveway...professional installation on time and within estimate. I would highly recommend this company.
Manuel (Sonny) Orcasitas bid on a concert job for the Town of Winkelman. The project was a concrete driveway. Mr. Orcasitas is skilled at concrete work and did an excellent job for the Town. Mr. Oracsitas also worked for a sub-contractor in which they constructed many feet of sidewalks in the Town limits. The Mayor and Council were very pleased with his work and would gladly hire him again.
