OMG!!! I don't think I can work with any other personal trainer. Baron and Marcos set a really high bar. I'm new to "getting fit" so I know absolutely nothing at all. I went on a lengthy email exchange with Baron before I started, and Baron was prompt and thorough with his responses. Never did he get frustrated with all the stupid, inane questions I threw at him. Marcos is an awesome trainer. Always on time, totally flexible, and quick to think on his feet to adapt the routine to my unfit body. I've only been six? sessions in, and already I'm seeing results. For example, I went from not being able to plank at all (soooooo embarrassing) to being able to plank for over a minute. Baron and team is probably the best value of all the trainers in the Bay Area. Considering that your trainer **comes to you** and brings all the necessary equipment for the session, I don't think ANYONE can beat their price.

Baron is an exceptional personal trainer whose passion for health and fitness is inspiring. I've been training with him for the past 5 months and each session is so much more than just a killer workout. He challenges my mental limits by pushing me beyond the edge of my (perceived) physical limits. He thoughtfully fine tunes his extensive knowledge of fitness / body mechanics in order to meet specific individual needs. He is very patient with me - and if a new technique seems intimidating, he will take the time to explain and answer any of my questions. After years and years of wanting to have a personal trainer, I always pushed it off. But something about turning 25 was a wake up call for me. So I made the plunge and did my research and looked into plenty of Personal Trainers but none of them really stood out. It wasn't until using this service and Anthony reaching out to me is a very fast manner that I took the opportunity to meet with him. Let's just say after a quick 15 min phone call and getting to know one another, I was hooked and ready to go. I started my training session on Monday and for someone who really hasn't stepped foot in a GYM or lifted weights, Anthony understands that and works to your level. During the 30 min workout (which felt longer at times haha) he was with me every step of the way, motivating and encouraging me to complete my sets. It has truly been the best investment I have ever made and look forward to accomplishing my goals. You won't go wrong with God's Gym & Anthony as your trainer. This guy knows his stuff!

I've worked out with trainers before, even one that I loved, and the experience with Anthony has still been on a different level entirely. For the last 5 weeks, I have had the pleasure of having Anthony as my trainer. I have found capacities in my body that I didn't know existed. Anthony is hardly summed up by a five star review. Anthony has one of the sunniest and positive personalities you'll never meet. The workouts are different every day and are fun and enjoyable and never boring. The gym environment is also great. From other trainers and other gym goers, everyone is kind, supportive, and encouraging. Expect to be greeted by everyone when you arrive. Since my first day, the atmosphere has been nothing but positive. I feel very welcomed and extremely comfortable. I've been very impressed with my experience thus far. I love the that God's cultivates a great mix of clientele. I see both men and women (regardless of age, level of fitness, or experience) working on their goals.

My review is specifically for Anthony, my personal trainer of four sessions. He is kind, funny, motivational, positive, enthusiastic, responsive, and was never intimidating nor condescending. He was patient with me when I had to reschedule sessions again and again because of my personal schedule, and always showed up to sessions with a smile, ready to fist bump you. As a complete beginner to using the gym equipment, he helped me feel at ease and competent. One thing to be aware of, though, is that you may share Anthony with a couple of other folks during your session (perhaps there are 1-on-1 options available), which works pretty well as we take turns using the machines. It just means that you may have to be more proactive in grabbing his attention to ask questions, if you do have any and which I know he'd be happy to answer. All in all, 5 stars for Anthony!

I've worked with a few personal trainers over the years and I have to say that hands down, Evan is the best trainer I have ever worked with. I started working out with Evan over a year ago. I have chronic low back pain, and had just had a procedure that was meant to reduce swelling and allow me to exercise more and strengthen my core. I had been doing physical therapy for awhile, but found that the workouts were too mellow, and I didn't really notice any improvement in my core strength. My wife had actually been working out with Evan for a few months and she recommended I try a few workouts with him. Evan has been amazing. The workouts are intense and challenging. He focuses on doing intervals of a quick series of strengthing exercises, with a burst of cardio in between sets that keeps your heart rate elevated for the entire workout. Given my back issues, he is very good about checking in to make sure he is not stressing or straining my lower back (or any other injury I might have picked up). I have noticed dramatic improvement in my core strength and overall fitness in my time with Evan. He also has been willing to email me personalized workouts I can do on my own for days when I'm not working out him. I agree with all the other posts here -- 5 stars. Evan is great.

For a while I had been looking into finding a personal trainer to learn the proper form of workout and better motivation. Evan is a spectacular personal trainer. He's very knowledgeable about what he is doing and will tune the workout towards your weak points. The first session he do your measurements and observer your strengths and then make a plan based on your time to help you reach your goal. I was in the city for short time, but he also gave me workout instructions that I can keep doing on my own and I am very happy I had the chance to workout with him.

I started training with Aaron about 18 months ago now. I had never gone to a personal trainer before and swung between eagerly not knowing what to expect, mixed with some degree of “gymtimidation”. Aaron is truly great- the proof of this is my first intention was to do only 5 sessions with him, just to give my personal fitness plan a boost. Some 75-odd weeks later, I’m still not giving up my trainer any time soon! First, Aaron takes time to understand where you are at, and where you ultimately want to be. He does this in a subtle, very approachable way, never being judgmental or anything other than completely positive. Then he sets about helping you get there. Clearly the most important element in all this is his technical knowledge- he pays extreme attention to one’s form conducting the exercises. His main goal here is to prevent injury, which I think cannot be underestimated. He designs our workout sessions to be fun, varied, motivational so one can appreciate the gains, and focused to achieve one’s goals. Aaron works around any health issues one might have, and does a really great job of reading how one feels on the day and applying just the right amount of “push” to get the job done. Aaron’s knowledge of anatomy and physiology has really impressed me personally; he quickly identified weaknesses I had, which almost unbeknownst to me had affected my daily life, probably for years. Many of our exercises are specifically focused on correcting these issues and I am reaping the noticeable benefits of this every day. I cannot recommend Aaron highly enough. Anyone training with him will receive a quality, professional experience, which is fun and rewarding. As well as an excellent trainer, he is also a great guy, which has made many a session of “nose to the grindstone” something I still want to do again and again…

I was looking for a personal trainer for my SO as a Christmas present since he was having trouble getting motivated to get back into shape. This was my first time using Thumbtack and by some stroke of luck I found Aaron – he was exactly what I/we needed! Aaron was able to train with him over the course of a few months and was very flexible with my SO's busy schedule. He also was able to meet at a public park near our flat so everything was super easy and convenient (no excuses!) My SO is diabetic so it's very important for him to look after his diet and general health and Aaron definitely helped steer him in the right direction with advice on both diet and exercise. He also pushed him the right amount in terms of physical ability. I think the best part about training with Aaron is that my SO was able to learn a lot about his problem areas (flexibility, etc.) and use those lessons outside the personal training sessions. I would definitely recommend Aaron, he's a nice but tough guy!

This is the perfect place to come to get fit. My usual MO is sign up for fitness classes or trainers, get pushed really hard and give up in a week or two. Youniquely has a different style from other trainers, bootcamps and fitness classes I have taken. The training is truly uniquely fitted to your needs and accelerated or decelerated based on how you are doing and whether you want to or not. This is the difference between buying a dress that is mass-produced vs getting a custom fitted gown!!

Xavier is just what I needed! I wasn't ready to workout in a gym setting, so I Googled personal trainers that would come out to my home. One of the results was Thumbtack, so I filled out my needs and goals. I got 2 emails with trainers that could come to me and out of the 2 results, Xavier stood out. His many years of experience in the fitness industry sold me. Also reviews from clients showed me that he was no joke, the real deal! I have a few pieces of equipment at home already but he brings other equipment that we utilize. James is very good at designing workouts that are custom-made for the client to get you on the path to accomplishing your goals. He's focused and is constantly mixing up the routines to keep your muscles challenged and to keep you from falling into a routine. Too many other trainers seem to be burned out and bored, putting all of their clients through the same tired cookie-cutter exercises. James is one of the few trainers that is intuitive and pays attention to everything going on to put you through a workout that will be worth the effort each day. I don't work out with trainers all the time, instead choosing a trainer to occasionally help me get out of a rut and to new things from them. James was great at helping me breakthrough some of my old ways of working out and teaching me new approaches to working out, including boxing. If you're looking for a trainer that will challenge you and be worth the money, I would highly recommend James.

Dima is very knowledgeable and professional. He is always positive and very attentive during the workout to help me use the correct form to make each exercise effective and to prevent injuries. He doesn’t give me more than I can handle but he also knows how to challenge me to go to the next level. E.J. Edgerton is the best trainer EVER! I began working with him over 10 years ago years ago to prepare for surgery to replace a torn off ACL I sustained skiing and to rehab after that surgery. He got me in such good shape that I decided to keep going to him on a regular basis so I could STAY in shape! His knowledge of musculature and connective tissue is superb. I can say, "It hurts here" and he will have an immediate fix. He has taught me a lot about how I need to stretch and strengthen. I was unable to do any exercises beyond the ones recommended during the physical therapy. That's when Radha came to the rescue. She listened very patiently to my problem and customized exercises that suited my comfort level and yet pushed me to getting stronger. All our training sessions started with assessing my pain level and exercising accordingly. Her training routine has definitely served as a springboard for high intensity exercises. I would highly recommend her to anyone who requires personal training.

Radha is great to work with. She really takes time to customize each of her clients, with me I have a bad knee and shoulder and we have been rehabilitating yet still working the muscles and fine tuning technique. I have never worked with another trainer that puts in as much effort to create a workout plan. The days I see Radha (2x a week) are my "happy days" because I always feel I challenged myself and she definitely inspires me and never leads me to regression like my other trainers in the past.

Have been training with Pete for over 7 years now, and I've always been extremely happy with the service he provides. Depending on whether I'm training to build mass, maintain fitness, or doing injury recovery, he customizes my routines to achieve that goal. As a former Bio major in school, I've always appreciated his deep knowledge of physiology and his ability to explain each exercise in terms of the muscle groups impacted and why the form and posture is critical. Lastly, while some trainers are flakes, Pete is the picture of professionalism and has never once had to cancel a session with me. I really enjoy working with Herman. He is very engaging during the training. Herman will motivate and push you beyond your limit that you didn't even know you are capable of. He focuses on what your goals and your needs are and adjust the workout or meal prep to help achieve it. He is also very responsive and flexible with my capabilities. He will adjust the workout to my needs, my range of motions, and my injuries. When my wrists are acting up, he will alter the exercise and accommodate to my limitations. Not only is he a personal trainer, he is also a friend who cares about how I'm doing in life. He would check up on me on how my injuries are doing or if I'm sore from the workouts. He'll also give me suggestions on how to alleviate the pain or tells me how to stretch to help my soreness. Overall, I am really satisfied with Herman and I am really seeing results!!

Matt is working with me twice a week on strength training especially for my core. He is very knowledgeable, professional, and very pleasant to work with. He is patient yet on each machine or exercise he frequently asks me if I can go up on weight, stretch further, etc. He creates a varied routine for me & I enjoy the sessions. Matt is always looking out for my safety & guides me as to proper form. He always takes into account my specific weak areas. He is flexible w scheduling. I had Sanchez as a trainer for about two years before I moved out of town. I still make sure to see him when I travel back to town. Dude knows his stuff, is light-hearted but unrelenting, and actually gets results. Recommended for those focusing on strength training, though he might Zumba like a motherfucker; I don't know.
