Incredible experience working with Griffith Frank...only had a few lessons due to relocation, but learned more about my own voice in those lessons than any other experience I've had...he takes the time to not only help you find your voice, but he shows you how to explore and understand it in and out. If I ever get to make my way back to California, he's definitely the first one I'm lookin up to further my development as an all around vocalist.
Richard is one of the best, nicest, talented and knowledgeable teachers and people I've had the pleasure of working with. He has helped me improve vocally, believe in myself, trust my talent - all this after only 2 lessons! My lesson is the highlight of my week! I can't wait to see where my lessons and voice will take me!
Mia creates such a positive and encouraging environment with such good vibes! As someone who has never taken voice lessons before, I immediately felt comfortable singing around Mia. She picks up the strength and weaknesses and challenges to build and grow from them. I also think it's great that she has her own recording setup. So much fun!
Dr Stephanie is a wonderful, highly experienced teacher, who focuses on the fundamentals of voice and breathing and also individual voice style and quality. She is supportive, flexible with my difficult schedule, and always fun to work with! I would highly recommend her, especially to those looking for a more academic approach to voice lessons and those interested in classical and musical theater training.
When I came to Jan, I had damaged my voice with another coach with only 2 weeks to my next show. I was feeling really hurt and my voice had been hoarse for 6 days due to the last lesson I took. Jan gave me a warm up plan for my voice that would allow me to practice without risking further damage to my vocal cords. After following her prescription, I could feel my voice starting to respond. After 3 lessons my voice is returning to health and sounding sweeter again. I still have one more lesson before show time. I have no doubt all is and will be well for me on that stage. Yay! I'm so grateful to have found you.
I graduated with a degree in theatre and have always wanted to sing. I've toured with my dad and have taken voice lessons with many teachers over the years. Rickie Gole is the teacher I have been looking for my whole life. When I first tried her class all I knew about her was that her students (who I went to school with) were always getting cast and hired. They had beautiful voices and I wanted so badly to sing like them. Since taking lessons with her for about a month now I have discovered something else. I am finding a new voice that is completely mine. I leave her classes more confident, happier, and freer. My biggest obstacle so far is trying not to get emotional because my voice is shocking me. It's how I've always wanted to sing and never believed I could. I completely don't recognize it. Her genuinely warm and encouraging presence makes me unafraid to make mistakes and try new things and because of that I'm singing like I never have in my life. Thank you Rickie.
Howard Richman is not a piano teacher...he is a LIFE CHANGER. I went to him to learn piano...but realized that the lessons I learned studying piano with the MASTER were not merely lessons in music....but lessons that helped me see outside the paradigm in all areas of my life. Often, as adults, we "come back" to our music...to study what we have been "wanting to get back to" for years. I learned that this is often a time of great change and evolution for us personally. Howard, being so intuitive, knows how to tune in to each individual's needs.... and empower them to EMPOWER themselves. He is a BRILLIANT pianist, composer and master teacher. I've watched him perform miracles with young children who struggled with other teachers who simply wanted to teach "by the book." Howard is always able to find your inner talent and abilities, possibly that are even unknown to you...and he can creatively, intuitively and intelligently create a course of action that will leave you amazed! That's why you are reading SO many wonderful comments here about him. If you are lucky enough to get to study with Howard, it will change your life!...and btw, I can now play a mean Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata"....Thank you for everything you taught me Howard Richman! Going into my lessons with Paul, I had no idea what to expect. I'd never had voice lessons before and my voice had been an area of insecurity for me my whole life. Thankfully, Paul coaches in a way that put me,a novice, at great ease. Even after just two lessons with Paul, my acting coach noticed a difference in my vocal quality. I was able to realize how I had developed a habit of incorrect breathing and posture and how it was effecting my every day life. He not only provided me with greater skill as a performer, but with better overall habits for speaking and carrying myself in day to day life.
I was a voice student at Hollywood Academy of Music for a few years. The instruction I got was worth so much more than what I paid because my teacher went to one of the best contemporary music schools (Musicians Institute) and was a frequent performer. Not only that, but she was fun to be around and naturally a very good teacher. I also took from a few other instructors and the standard was always just as high, even though the instructors had different backgrounds, they were all well-educated and good with people.
Base is reliable, punctual, and jumps right in when he arrives! He is focused on the student and pushes them (even if shy) with kindness and humor to grow and learn. My daughter is 12 and really enjoying her vocal lessons with him. We think he's great!!
We miss Davie. Great piano and drum teacher. Enthusiastic and fun. Your child will love lessons with Davie.
I would like to share my very strong endorsement of Bonnie Kousoulakis. As a classically-trained vocalist who has studied at both Brigham Young University and in the Oregon State University music program, I have had the opportunity to work with a number of different vocal instructors over the years. I can say without hesitation that none have helped me in to realize my potential as a classical vocalist more than Ms. Kousoulakis. Her understanding of vocal technique and ability to help her students achieve their fullest potential, especially for the male voice, is in my experience, unparalleled. Before I began studying with Ms. Kousoulakis about 15 months ago, I was merely a singer with potential, much of which had been untapped. I lacked confidence in myself and had not developed a strong understanding of exactly how to use my instrument to its fullest potential. However, with the assistance of Ms. Kousoulakis, I have been able to achieve a quality of singing and a belief in myself that has led me to give serious consideration to pursuing a full-time professional career for the first time since I left college more than a decade ago. My experiences as her student, combined with an understanding of her own education, professional background in opera and her passion for the art, give me great confidence in recommending her.
I always enjoy our French lessons!
I have been taking lessons from Electra for 3 years and I love her. She always makes my lessons fun and productive. She has gone way out of her way to help me prepare for auditions, no other vocal teacher has helped me this much. I love Electra and Soundcheck music school
Bennett has an extraordinary ability to zero in on his student's skills and musical affinities... He has a nerdy, highly precise knowledge of the instrument, of guitar technique and of music history... Months ago I would barely sing with anyone else in the room, and didn't know how to play guitar. This morning I played guitar and harmonized with Bennett on a Stones song. Take music lessons with Bennett - only good can come of it.
