Anna T. says, "Our daughter started taking piano lessons with Doris when she was 7 years old. What we liked about Doris lessons was that in addition to teaching the more practical aspect of playing, she spent time in the beginning of each lesson listening to music and learning about classical composers.
Doris is very patient with young learners, and it is very clear that she loves teaching children and share her love of music. My daughter always felt very well taken care of, and looked forward to the classes. My daughter loved playing on the new grand piano that Doris has in her living room. At the end of each lesson, Doris would write a note describing what they worked on and what the homework would be for next time, so there was never any confusion.
Doris arranges recitals every year, sometimes in her own home, sometimes at a bigger venue. Last time it was at Prospect High School. She usually invites a local talented college age musician to perform at the recitals, which is highly motivating for the younger students to listen to.
Doris charges a very competitive rate for her lessons, one of the lowest we could find in the area.
