I cannot say enough about Thinque Prep and Joyee Lin. He is dedicated to his students success and does a very thorough job of preparing them for the ACT or SAT test. My son, Zack, who is very bright but requires a lot of patience worked with Joyee over the summer and brought his composite ACT score up from 30 to 33. His math score increased a full 4 pts. and he scored a 35 in English. Thinque Prep has other services related to tutoring and college application preparation. Zack will be working with Joyee on his college application essays. Joyee is in California and we are in Texas but this was never an issue as the sessions are done via video chat. The office manager Jen was great to work with and the appointment process was easy to navigate. I found the rates to be very competitive for like services. If there was a way to give extra stars I would!!

With a growing business, especially throughout LATAM, Spanish comprehension quickly became a must for me. I have been a student of Fabian for over 4 years and his coaching style has enabled me to not only comprehend Spanish, but also has accelerated my conversational proficiency. Fabiano has also been instrumental in translating many time sensitive legal documents from Spanish to English. I would highly recommend Fabian for Spanish lessons regardless of proficiency and also recommend his translation services.

Patricia has given English lessons to our 3 children, 2 hours a day, for 2 months in May and June 2015 in France. As French native speakers, the objective was to make them all feel at ease in English (spoken and written) in order to join an international English speaking school in September. Camille, 13 years old, had already some school knowledge of English, and Sarah, 11 years old, had very few knowledge of English. Despite of that, the 2 girls decided to take the lessons together and Patricia adapted very well to the level of each girl, making them feel as taking nearly private lessons, sharing perfectly her time between the 2 girls. She was able to use the strengths and weaknesses of each girl to build a team spirit to achieve each of them goal : good communication skills for interpersonal relations and a good written level to adapt to academic learnings. Cyrille, 7 years old, didn't have any knowledge of English and the objective was to get him used to listen and understand basic English. Again Patricia succeeded in this goal perfectly. Cyrille was very scared to start his first lesson and did not want to go, but after all he did not want the first lesson and all the others to stop ! Patricia was always extremely patient, enthusiastic, positive, constructive and fun all the time ! The children did theoretical exercices, as well as some practical ones, such as cooking or shopping, and of course lots of conversation. They all loved the lessons with her. Today, after one month of schooling in English, we can confirm that Patricia’s lessons were very helpful and allow our children to succeed in getting well-adapted to their new environment and working methods. Therefore, I highly recommend Patricia as a tutor as she is highly competent, efficient, and able to adapt to all type of levels and ages, from young boy to teenager.

I have taken private lessons with Evelyn to refresh my advanced conversational skills. Evelyn comes prepared to our session, and always make sure to take you out and over your comfort zone. She makes the session interesting by introducing reading material on different subjects, discussing them with open end questions, analyzing the grammar and applying lessons learned to your own individual situation. She makes learning fun and challenging at the same time!

Ivonne has been teaching me Spanish for a few months. My level of Spanish was below remedial and she has been very patient with my slow learning speed and continues to adapt her lesson plans to my strengths and weaknesses. Being a native English and Spanish speaker, Ivonne excels at communicating her lessons and providing explanations and clarifications to students with diverse levels of fluency.

I was working as a high professional at a very prominent company when my colleague offered English lessons to improve my communication skills. After intensive screen among high ranking candidates, she found Alice. Alice made me understand what was wrong in my communication style. She had the most correct way of addressing the core of the problem without affecting my feelings. Although she was not an expert in cell based assays, Alice was capable of providing an advice on how to structure my thoughts and provided directions on how to compose a good e-mail. She made me feel capable of blogging and reaching wider audience. Alice’s advices and insights moved me at deeper level. After her teaching I was finally capable of "decomposing" my cultural heritage and composing myself again within a new cultural landscape. Alice made me believe in myself "in English". I am not reading “for my soul” only in my mother tongue anymore but also in English. After her lessons, I am capable of reaching to people for whom I care the most: my beloved friends and coworkers.

About

A results driven teacher, I cut through the excess and get down to what matters right away. In regards to Spanish or English, getting you the target vocabulary you need to do your job or to communicate better is number one. Giving you the comprehension and strategy to pass tests, be they common core state standardized, TOEFL, CBEST, Praxis or anything that requires reading comprehension, english literature grammar mechanics, or writing is something we can easily do together. We work hard but we do so playing educational games that get us to our goal. I will show you how to study with flash cards to memorize a ton of information in only a short amount of time. I work well with and have experience teaching from the very youngest of children to Corporate Business Professionals. Children love me. I am educated, experienced, highly recommend and referred. I am looking for clients that have a long term goal and want to meet on a routine basis. This is so I have a set schedule and get my own studies done. (Masters in Education)

Buongiorno! Buenos Dias! Hello! I am an expert foreign language teacher with over 15 years of experience teaching, learning and using languages for business: writing, editing, interpreting and translating. I am passionate about languages and how they enrich our lives. I approach language teaching or learning contextually, rather than grammatically, with a student-centered focus. What does that mean? That means my teaching method is highly interactive, and I will get you talking right away, and learning to use and appreciate a language through topics and materials relevant to your life; and through music, film, culture, and real-life content, based on your needs and interests. See my website for student testimonials and my tips on language learning. I offer: * Private Lessons in person and live online * Travel workshops * Classes * Weekly Italian Study Group I teach: * Adults * Children * Students * Home-schoolers * Business people * Travelers I am proficient, fluent and have mastery in Italian, Spanish, and English. I have lived, worked and taught in the U.S., Spain, and Milan, Italy, where I began my teaching career and resided for 9 years. I hold a current California Teaching Credential, and am up to date on the latest foreign language teaching methods and theories. To verify my license from this site, see link on the right, and use the name Jodi L Hahn. Pricing: * Individual private lessons online cost $30.00 per hour. The advantages of learning a language online are many; first of all, results. Many online students report they are better able to concentrate on the lesson. During our classes, I'll have you talking, listening, reading and writing. Hearing the live voice of a proficient speaker through your headset makes a huge difference. There are no interference from classmates or external noises to interrupt you. Plus, I use the chat board to type new words, questions, and sentences to accompany the words that are spoken. Skype even allows me to share files, views of my screen, and guide you to useful sites on the internet.

About

My name is Stephen Riley, and I am a traveling music and English teacher. Along with my wife, Annelisa Riley, I have been working for the past two years to hone in on what makes the English language easy for some and hard for others. After working in China for a year teaching English to students ranging from age 1-12, Annelisa and I began dreaming and scheming of ways to improve the process of learning English while having a lot of fun. Both Annelisa and I have been deeply moved by music and involved in the creation of music from early in life. Now, we believe we have found a way of teaching that speaks for both us as teachers and you as students. Everyone loves music, and everyone needs to communicate to have long-term success. Our curriculum uses classic folk music and contemporary songs to bring the student deeper into the English language. By focusing on the poetic lyrics of folk music, we are able to bring the student a more compulsory understanding of how to form sentences and adequately express themselves. Then we begin working with the student on learning to play some of these songs, focusing on guitar chords, strumming patterns, and for the more experienced students, harmonica playing. Finally, we work with the student to create an original piece of music in English that they can be proud to call their own work of art. Riley School of American Folk Music is not just about learning to speak the English language. It is about learning to create.

About

I have lived and taught English abroad in Costa Rica and Brazil, as well as traveled throughout Europe and South America. I am fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. For the past couple years, I have been teaching kids classes (as well as tutoring adults) anything from creative writing to art, Spanish and geography. I am a very enthusiastic and creative person, which helps me bring very unique and fun activities to class. I always accommodate my lessons based on the student's level and specific need or interest just like for example, if you need to learn English for business or work or perhaps you need to learn some conversational Spanish for traveling. Everyone is unique so I like to make all of my lessons unique as well. No matter what, we always have a good time!
