Michelle is truly a magician. My fiance and I are taking lessons in preparation for our first dance and not only are her dance skills & teaching skills great but she is always punctual (maybe even a little early which is a-okay!) and comes with a great attitude no matter what type of day she has had or how tired she may be. Highly recommend her!

Bonnie was amazing to work with! She literally broke down the steps “Barney style” to quote my husband. She is so approachable, friendly and has a gift of teaching dance to anyone! We had two other couples that have never danced and let alone bachata! They both texted me the next day how much they enjoyed Bonnie and the dance lesson! I will definitely use her again!! I recommend her services highly!!!

Having met Elisa a couple of years ago after she moved to San Diego, I began to take supplemental dance lessons with her from time to time. Now, she is my primary partner in ProAm dance competitions. Elisa has found a way to motivate me to continue to improve my performance quality while making the dance experience fun. She has a gift for sensing what teaching methods get through to each student, as we all learn in different ways, without making lessons into rote drudgery. She also can sense when a student is getting overwhelmed my technique and knows when to back away and reinforce what you already know first before moving on to the newest concept. I have seen my ability as a competitive and social dancer improve more quickly with Elisa than with any other dance instructor with whom I have worked over the past six years.

My husband and I had the best time learning dance moves for our BIG DAY!!! I have two left feet, but SAM, our dance instructor was able to make us look as if we've been dancing our entire lives. I highly recommend Fred Astaire for wedding couples or if you just want to learn some new moves. The staff is very kind and professional, I highly recommend this place! A big shout out to Sam, he rocks!!

Kyoto was fantastic. We took lessons before my daughters wedding and Kyoto choreographed the bride/groom and father/daughter dance. During the lessons she made everyone feel at ease and worked with us to give us something we were very happy with. We also had a personal emergency which meant we had to reschedule. Kyoto dealt with it in a very professional manner and moved her other bookings around to accommodate us. I highly recommend her, she is a wonderful person.

I couldn't be happier finding Dance Daly Ballroom, not only for my immediate need for help with my Cha-Cha dance moves because I'm doing a choreographed dance with my son (the mother-son dance), but because I want to learn ballroom for fun, confidence, for my new 2nd career (trying to get into Commercials, and ballroom dancing is great on the resume), so after this wedding, I'm definitely going to join! Both Sveta, the studio manager and her husband Jason, the owner, are so kind, warm and welcoming. Jason was my instructor at my first intro (free) lesson, and he was so patient and helpful and professional - I felt comfortable, not nervous at all, and he shared a variety of tips to help me remember my steps, plus gave me plenty of positive reinforcement when I "got it" right! I really appreciated the package deal he gave me, with a first-time customer discount, so I could afford to take 5 lessons between now and the wedding in 3 weeks! Check them out. It's an awesome studio.

Samantha taught me how to West Coast Swing. We would meet on a weekly bias for about an hour or so. At the start of each lesson we would go over what I had learned the previous week followed by learning new techniques/moves. Then we would finish of the lesson dancing to different songs to practice and experiment with all the things I had learned so I could get better of the application of the actual dancing. I really appreciated how Samantha was able to gauge and tailor the lessons and pacing around my learning. If she saw that I was excelling at one movement then she would move on the next move or if I was struggling then she would take some extra time with that lesson. Samantha was constantly going out to be apart of different West Coast Swing dances as well as competitions so I was comforted knowing that she knew the real world application and style. I thoroughly enjoyed learning West Coast Swing with Sam and would love to go back for more lessons.

Alma Latina has great children's dance teachers. I'm not sure who is happier at the end of class, the kids or the teacher. Both are glowing. Teachers and kids both have great fun while learning Latin and ballet technique. Kids especially love learning the showmanship attitude. Just search for Alma Latina Kids on youtube and you'll see what I mean. I hope to be as good as the AL kids someday! The best ages for kids classes are 3 years old and up. They also have great adult classes in salsa, cumbia, bachata where they mix in cha cha. My favorite kid's teachers are Gaby, Biana and Paula.

I've been taking group classes and private lessons here for years. Dennis and Samantha are incredible instructors and fun to be around. The social dances and showcases give you a chance to practice and perform.

    About

Our dance studio is known to offer the highest quality of dance in Orange County, CA. Our teaching method is unique compared to other studios because we focus on teaching body coordination and understanding of how to use our body in movement. Other studios focus on teaching just steps, so eventually, students will just know a lot of steps, but don't look like they're dancing or they took any lessons. This is really a downside of teaching only steps.... Instructors at our studio are truly dancers at heart :) We love to dance, hence we want others to experience the excitement of dancing as well. Teaching dance is not a job for us. It's more like spreading our passion of dancing and excitement to others.

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do dance lessons cost?

Adults who want to learn to dance, whether to prepare for a wedding or to meet new people, often enjoy taking dance lessons from an experienced dance instructor. Instructors may offer classes one-on-one to individual students or couples, or to small groups. The national average cost for a dance instructor ranges from $30 to $50. Some studios offer a discounted introductory lessons or group lessons, as well as package deals that are more affordable than paying for individual lessons. Some dance instructors will travel to the student’s home, which usually costs more, while others hold small-group sessions in their studios.
