To Whom it May Concern, We are very pleased to provide this strong letter of recommendation for Matthew Hess of American Custom Builders. We used Matthew's services for two projects at our daughter's 1950's-era, ~900 sq ft house in San Diego, CA. We interviewed a half-dozen highly-rated contractors, but selected Matthew based on his outstanding references, strong knowledge of home-building, and lowest overall price. The first project involved removing a major structural wall, removing a closet, and expanding the kitchen. The remodel turned out great and was completed on-time and within budget. Because of the success of the first project, we turned to Matthew again when we decided to add a ~480 sq ft master bedroom/bathroom addition plus a roof deck to our daughter's house. Matthew worked with us and our architect to ensure the plans were well thought-out and structurally sound. Once the plans were completed, he helped us obtain the necessary permits from the city (not an easy task!). The El Nino rains delayed the start of our project, but Matthew was flexible with the start-date and ready with his crew once the rains subsided. Throughout the project, Matthew was closely involved in all the details and even performed some of the hands-on work himself. As might be expected in an older home, we ran into some challenges (e.g., replacing all the water lines in the house), but Matthew came-up with creative solutions and did the extra work at his cost. For several extra items, he did not even charge us at all! Our daughter is delighted with the remodel and room addition and we are extremely happy with the end-results (including quality, cost, and timeframe). Overall, we had an excellent experience working with Matthew. He is diligent, hard-working, conscientious, honest, and delivers on his promises. We would certainly use him again for any future projects and highly recommend him to others. Sincerely, Paul and Kathy Strandburg
When applying for a building permit we were faced with what seemed like insurmountable requirements by the building planning division of the city of El Cajon. We made numerous attempts to meet their demands and were turned back with new requirements each time. A friend suggested we hire either an architect or a draftsman in order to comply. Out of desperation we hired Lance Stratton of Studio Stratton Inc. We couldn’t have made a better decision. He responded promptly and with his knowledge and professionalism he quickly gained our confidence. He knew exactly what was needed to meet building code and how to put it all down on paper to satisfy even the most fastidious civil servant. Lance gathered all the information he needed and promised a 1st draft within a few days. Good to his word, he had the first draft done in a couple of days. We sat down together and went over it in detail to make sure nothing was left out. A few days later, he came over with the city required number of copies of a very professional set of plans. We went through them together as a final check and they were ready to turn in. Lance assured us everything was going to be fine and that his job wasn’t done until the plans were approved and a building permit was issued. As impressive as the professionalism of his work is, just as important, he became a partner in the process. While waiting for the city to make it’s decision he would call to check the status and assure us that he was ready in case anything more was needed. To my great relief, the city approved the plans without a single addition or correction. If you are looking for drafting services and you want a true professional who will go the extra mile and treat you like a valued customer, Lance Stratton is your guy.
My husband and I recently purchased a three bedroom home in a great neighborhood, but it needed some small renovations done to create a fourth bedroom for our newborn. I contacted eleven (yes, eleven) different architects on Yelp. Only four actually responded to my messages, and most said they would either charge just to come out to Santee to simply look at our home ($150-$200 for their time alone), or they were booked out months in advance, or they didn't service the East County (I'm guessing these guys prefer more upscale jobs in Del Mar and Coronado). A few provided ballpark quotes but they clearly didn’t want our business. Our dilemma was that we couldn't move into this house we had already closed on until the renovations were done, so we needed someone ASAP to create a design for our project so we could THEN get a permit for the work so we could THEN have the work done by a contractor. Since Yelp failed me, I submitted the form to find an architect on Thumbtack, and Ken from One World Architecture called me immediately. It was a Saturday morning, no less, and Ken was incredibly warm, understanding, and made our small project out in the boonies of Santee sound like a priority. He came out right away, took his time understanding exactly what we wanted done, and got to work quickly to create a design that we loved. Ken even connected us with a local contractor, who primarily works on referrals, since we had no idea where to start (incidentally, this contractor has been just as amazing as Ken and also very easy to work with). Throughout the process, Ken and his team were transparent, kept in constant communication with us and the contractor, and even dealt with a horrendous permit process with the city on our behalf. As a bonus, One World Architecture’s charges for their services were far below the other architects that had provided ball-park quotes. We are so grateful for Ken and his team. Our home is nearly finished and it looks phenomenal: the addition looks original to the home. Although this whole renovation process was a lot more complicated than we anticipated – nothing like HGTV makes it seem – we are so thankful for Ken and team at One World Architecture and would recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone considering a renovation.
Design from start to end my dream house in Pavones, Costa Rica. Ere 2 is without a doubt the best architects I have ever came across. Not only are they extremely knowledgable on subject but are also very flexible and easy to work with. Their attention to detail is absolutely mind blowing. I am 100% satisfied with the end result and from now on have found my trusted architects for every future project I will have. Grazie!!!
Great services and a customized design. I'm in love with my kitchen now 😁.
We recently completed a whole house remodel project with Salomon and his team. We can't provide enough glowing praise for his design, professionalism, and participation during the entire design and construction process. We were initially referred to Salomon after seeing a friends house that they had recently completed. After various months speaking with other design professionals, we knew there was no question; Salomon was ideal for our project. He listened to our objectives, incorporated them into the design, and then creatively added and improved upon our suggestions. We knew the house had potential, but he really helped us see the greater design opportunities. He took the time to educate us throughout the process, as we were inexperienced and first timers in this type of a remodel. He personally visited the building department for all of the permit submittals and approval process. During construction, he was present on a weekly basis for site visits and made himself easily accessible for questions. He also went beyond what I consider to be the regular scope of an architect and assisted us with many finishes and furniture selection. He even spent several hours with us at various furniture stores. Highly recommend for any scale remodel or new construction project.
Gelareh is helping me with my new medical office and she is great to work with. She has great idea and wonderful talent. She really has gone beyond my expectations in many ways. She ordered more samples for us to review than I was expecting. She has met with me way more than I was expecting. And even now her job is pretty much done, she is available when I have a question. But what I appreciate most about her is that she is open to and embraces my ideas as a springboard to provide her unique input.
Jason is a great guy to work with, he knows his stuff, and he can deliver a great product. I can recommend him to anyone seeking architectural design services.
As a General Contractor I highly recommend Wade Weber and Associates for their ability to quickly design the project and get the remodel plans approved and get the building permit for the construction . As a design architect he was able to draw up the kitchen remodel and submit the plans and get the permit. Sometimes he can get the Permit over the counter the same day by talking to the guys at the city that he sees all the time . His knowledge of drafting , Cad Drawing , City codes and Design are expertly done .We would not hesitate to recommend Wade to anyone wanting a good Architect .
Experience counts! I am a former architectural and construction college student with lots of practical repair and installation experience. I have positive references and photos available. I do all kinds of repair work for the home, including plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, fencing, deck work, pergolas, etc. I am also very handy with small jobs like installation of washer, dryer, and dishwasher; furniture assembly; etc. I do not work on HVAC or roofing, but all else is available. Remember, I can get it done, and I do very clean work. Thanks.

As I never repeat myself, nor do I 'borrow' from the work of others, there is a 100% chance that you will never have seen anything like what I do. But while I pride myself on being original, I am even more proud of being good. My work is best characterized by being space-oriented, light-sensitive, clear and with a big idea.
