Latest Review: I really enjoy working out at Shape up Studio.
Gym: Very clean. No bad odors. They don't try to give you heat stroke by keeping it as a sweat box inside. There are clorox wipes everywhere. My trainer Vince really takes pride in the gym, and is constantly wiping things down on his down time. The design of the gym gives you a comfortable feel and flow. The bathrooms are exquisite! They are always clean, smell fresh...I think it's the amazing hand soap, and they just got electric trash cans. Thy gym also has WiFi and televisions. They also have Pandora playing during your workouts.
Intake: I have been working out at the studio since August 2014. Your first workout is a training assessment with Markshane. He takes all of your measurements & then gives you a personal training workout with himself to assess your strengths and weeknesses. Boi is that a tough workout! Then you discuss what schedule is best for you and what kind of training. 1 free visit with the on site massage therapist and nutritionist.
I do both personal training (2 days/week) and "group" (3 days/week). I put quotes around "group" because the groups are always small. They vary from 2-8ppl, and the workout still feels like personal training!!
My trainer Vince also trains the group and I love that everyday is different!!!
I love my results and know that without personal training, I could never push myself to get results like my trainer does. The pushing is also subtle. One day your using 5lbs dumbells, then 8 lbs, then 10lbs. Or you're doing deadlifts with 20lbs, then 50lbs. It just happens...lol...no discussion. Also, if you're competitive like myself, working out in the group will motivate you to push harder; do more crunches or squats than the person next to you! Lol.
FYI: group is Tue/Thur/Sat- 6pm/6pm/9am. My hope is that this will increase as more people sign up.
Also, there's a crazy amount of digital clocks around the gym, unfortunately all of them have a different time.
