I have been working as a tutor for the last 10 years. I began tutoring when I was a resident of Mexico, living first in the town of San Miguel de Allende where I tutored French and then in Guadalajara where I prepared student clients for the TOEFL exam.
Since returning to the United States in 1212, I have been tutoring English with clients reached through WyzAnt, Thumbtack and Bright Bird Tutoring.
I am qualified by WyzAnt to tutor ESL and to prepare students for the English parts of the ACT, GED, SAT and TOEFL.
I have also worked with clients having problems with all aspects of English Arts in elementary, middle, and high school. I have worked with intermediate and advanced English students needing to improve their business English, conducting extemporaneous English sessions at SAP, San Ramon, California. I have also taught beginning English to a class of junior foremen at the Urban Company in San Rafael.
My latest qualification is a certificate as a dyslexia tutor.
I have been a reading/writing tutor for the Solano County Literacy Program. I have also worked as a walk-in tutor at both of the Vallejo public libraries. I recently passed the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST).
Besides U.S. citizens and residents, I have worked with ESL clients of all ages from China, Japan, Vietnam, India, Indonesia, South Korea, Lithuania, France, Russia, South Sudan, Mexico, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Bolivia, Brazil, and Colombia. Some I have worked with in person and some over the Internet using Skype.
I hope to hear from you!
