Steve Buerer did the videography for my wedding. He did an amazing job! He was kind, courteous, very professional, and easy to communicate with. He worked with the wedding venue staff and vendors in a very professional way. He is ready to answer any of your questions and concerns in a timely manner. At first I was skeptical about Thumbtack.com because it was my first time using it, not to mention, I was planning a wedding from out of state. However, I found out that Thumbtack.com is definitely a legitimate website with amazing people to hire, Steve was one of them. Steve has work on YouTube also, if you want to see what he has done in the past. Definitely worth hiring, I would hire him again if I had another large event! Lastly, it's hard to find nice and considerate people to work with, so definitely consider Steve.

I was looking for a videographer/video production company to provide me with videography for my wedding. I was skeptical due to the price, but how I would have regretted it not having that video from my wedding. Yes, videography and photography is expensive, but I would almost say that I will cherish my videos more than my photos due to the shear fact that you hear your and your spouse's voice saying your vows; pictures can't do that. Elegant Events Media were so great about payment options, and really worked well for my payment needs. I usually spoke with Brad, but everyone I spoke to were great! They answered as many questions as I had with great patience, and that was so appreciated. Leading up to the wedding they contacted me multiple times to make sure all plans were the same and to clarify any questions they had, but also to make sure I didn't have any more questions for them. On the wedding day, Darin was our videographer, and gosh am I glad we got him. He was so professional, and so easy to work with, but he was also in constant communication with the photographer as well. Watching out video back, there were times he recorded that I didn't even realize he was there, which made it so genuine. I cannot be more thankful for Darin and his time with us at our wedding. With editors of our video were amazing, and although the music we initially picked for the background music wasn't in the video, I ended up LOVING the songs they had picked instead. The turn around time from the wedding to when we got the final project was about 2 weeks, which I thought was totally reasonable. The short video was so fun, and the extended video was also edited with music and transitions which was so appreciated, since I pictured an old home video of all raw footage of the wedding. I would highly recommend Elegant Events Media for videography, and I would HIGHLY recommend Darin for your day.

From the get-go, Damian was super responsive, easy to communicate with, and his past work spoke for itself. We couldn’t wait to hire him for our wedding film. On wedding day, he and his team were so professional and discreet, I didn’t even notice they were there until after the ceremony! Of course we ran completely behind schedule at the reception, but he went above and beyond to stay an extra half an hour to capture what we had originally asked him to capture. Thank you Damian and Heart + Soul Films! We can’t wait to see our video!

I was looking for a videographer for my wedding and found Monty on Thumbtack. He's work is very high quality and the price is quite reasonable compared to other wedding videographers I've contacted. Monty was very cheerful and easy to work with, and communicates well with me and my husband. He's good at listening to what we want and adjust his work to our needs. He's highly professional, knows his trade well and gets his work done very efficiently. His presence is almost unnoticeable on my wedding, but he actually captured all the important/fun moments with high quality. I received the processed videos from him a week after my wedding, and was thrilled to see all the tiny moments and things I was too busy to notice during my wedding day in the video. If you are looking for someone to help you preserve the memory of your most important day in life, Monty is the guy!

We hired Ryan to be our videographer for our wedding and we are beyond impressed!! Ryan was so easy to work with and was great at communicating throughout the entire process. He didn't miss a beat on our wedding day and captured the details and event beautifully. He gave us a killer deal and our videos were amazing! We received our video about a month after the wedding, is super fast considering how much editing had to be done. Our families were also really impressed with our videos and couldn't believe he did all that for such a great price.

My husband and I were very much on the fence about hiring a videographer for our wedding (mostly due to cost) but I can tell you with confidence after receiving our videos from Sway Media that this is the one thing that I am absolutely thrilled that we "splurged" on. Sway Media is absolutely wonderful to work with. They are extremely professional, punctual, flexible, and most importantly TALENTED! My husband and I could not be happier with how our highlight video turned out and the additional feature films of our ceremony and reception are wonderful as well. We have watched our highlight video probably 100 times already, it is truly the best way to re-live our wedding day. We have received so many compliments on how fantastic our highlight video is. Along with our photographer, Sway Media was the best thing that we spent money on for our wedding and to be perfectly honest their pricing was extremely reasonable for how talented they are. A wedding video is something you will treasure forever, make sure you book with the best! You will be so happy with the results if you book with Sway Media, they are AMAZING!

They did our wedding videography. I never really thought about having a videographer, but I'm SO GLAD we did, and I'm so glad Ivory Dog Films did it for us! We were overjoyed with the video, both in terms of the editing and the quality. They were so great to work with, too - professional, but still super fun. Would highly recommend!

If you are contemplating hiring a videographer for your wedding day, please just go for it! I promise that you will not regret it in the end. Once all the guests have left, and the day that you have been planning for so long is over, having something that will always remind you of the occasion is priceless. Trust me! I originally wasn't sure that I wanted to spend the extra money on a videographer, especially since we had already hired a photographer. I decided to check Google, as usual, and came across Wild35 Videography. After reading such glowing reviews, I decided to check out his videos. I was blown away! On the day of the wedding, Paul showed up to the hotel on time, and ready to work. I was getting my hair and makeup done when he arrived. Paul was so inconspicuous, I barely noticed him! This was great because it allowed me to be natural and relaxed. I wasn't posing for a camera, I was just acting like myself since I didn't even know he was filming me. He filmed our first look, our arrival to City Hall, our ceremony, and a lot of quiet/romantic moments between my husband and I. He always managed to be in the right place, at the right time, without attracting too much attention. My husband and I both love our video, and are extremely grateful to have been able to work with Paul!

Unfortunately I hired Clifton to commemorate my husband's funeral and repass. Although it was a difficult time he was attentive to my requests and I was pleased with the results. The video was professional, editing was seem less and additional footage tasteful. My only regret (which was my responsibility)is that I wish I had more of an idea of what possibilities and upgrades (like additional videographers) would have looked like. Had I realized, I would have had additional camera angles of such an honorable service.

Austin is a great photographer. He is who I have called whenever I've needed someone to take photos for me. From my wedding to my daughter's 16th birthday and my father's Christmas party. Not only are his prices more than affordable, he is also very accommodating and worth considering if you yourself need a photographer.

This company is simply amazing. I don't know how I can ever thank them enough. Every bride's worst nightmare is a vendor canceling on them the day of the wedding and that is exactly what happened to me. Already having a set budget, distant location and the day of my wedding, it was hard to find a videographer. After many phone calls Micah and his team said they would help me. The video they put together was absolutely stunning. It truly was more than I could have ever imagined. My overall experience with the Wedding Film House was nothing but great. Micah was wonderful to be around and always got back to me extremely fast. My video link was up within in a week and I received all the video copies I requested. I highly recommend them.

About

Every single solitary montage that we make is exclusive not just because of the photos but also due to the music, the animation, the textual content and the temper. Everyone must tell a story in images. I happen to be a wedding videographer. My clients contact me from all over the world. Most of the time it's a last-minute plan to head over to city hall for a spontaneous wedding ceremony at the city clerk's office. I am usually asked to be a witness as well. I love my job. If I could photograph and document this every day of the week, I would. Weddings make me happy. Seeing two couples in love makes me very happy. The wait times is usually within the hour. Everything is done in a process. Take a ticket, wait in line for the paperwork to be signed, wait in the chapel waiting area, then be married in front of a small room with podium, and gaze into each other's eyes. The officiant likes to smile and crack a few jokes too. I like that.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.

How much is videography for a wedding?

Wedding videography is one thing many couples regret not paying for. It may seem like just another expense during wedding planning, but it’s really special to have a moving memory of your big day. The national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. Pricing can vary depending on wedding length, special film features, the amount of editing required, and how many videographers are needed to cover the event. Many videographers offer packages that provide different levels of service. A very simple wedding documentary could be $600 or more, while a full-scale cinematic experience involving multiple videographers could be $2,500 or more. Here’s an example of average package pricing:

  • Package 1: $1,400
    • Footage during and after the ceremony, including highlights requested by the couple.
    • Two cameras with audio equipment.
    • DVD including a 3- or 4-minute edit to a song of the couple’s choice and a 45- to 50-minute raw edit covering the entire event.
    • Recordings of guests’ good wishes to the couple.
  • Package 2: $1,800
    • Includes everything from Package 1, plus an additional videographer (2 total) and aerial videography.

When do you pay your wedding videographer and wedding photographer?

Most wedding videographers and photographers require a set deposit when you hire them. Wedding season is a busy time and a deposit secures that vendor’s services for your wedding date. It also protects the vendor if the couple changes their mind at the last minute, and they can’t find a new booking and lose work for the day. The deposit may be anywhere from 20 percent to  50 percent of the agreed-upon total price. Always get a written confirmation that your deposit has been received.

The remainder of the wedding videography and photography bill may be due in the week before to your wedding or on the day of the wedding. Other vendors may require a second payment immediately before the wedding and a third and final payment after the wedding video or photos are delivered. Each vendor has their own policies, so before hiring be sure to read, understand and agree to payment protocols. There is no requirement for tipping wedding videographers or photographers, but if you do want to tip them, the end of the reception is the appropriate time.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
