Introduction: Over the last 25 years I have worked hard at my craft and studied the art of pitching and hitting. At the age of 10, I set a goal of receiving a free college education through my baseball talents. Hard work and dedication allowed me to achieve my goal and I hope to pass on my knowledge of the game to our youth. Seeing the growth of a young ball player and watching his confidence develop, on and off the baseball diamond is our focus. I also enjoy teaching respect for the game and developing sportsmanship, while setting goals collectively and achieving them as a team.

I have been taking my 11 year old son to Coach Ron for 3 months, it has been worth every amount of money and time that we have spent at Coach Ron great backyard facility. Yardwork Baseball is not some fancy facility with over price MLB coaches who might have been great player but lack real skills when it comes to coaching. I know because my son has had three ex MLB player coaches, and my son showed very little improvement with their coaching. Since my son has been coached by Ron, his pitching and batting have improved dramatically. My son has gone from throwing 2 different types of pitches fairly good to throwing 4 pitches really good. His velocity, locating, what and when to throw specific types of pitching have greatly improved. My sons batting has gone from a good batter to a very strong batter. Coach Ron not only made my son a stronger batter, also smarter at the plate. Ron teaches him what pitches to look for under different pitch counts. We have watched older Travel Ball players coming to Yardwork Baseball, all with very positive things to say about Coach Ron. I agree 100% with the other reviews, but one thing those reviews are lacking, is Coach Ron isn’t just great when it comes to improving the skills of young little league players. Coach Ron has the skills, knowledge, expertise, and temperament to make major improvement to all ages of baseball players. From the very young to high school and older travel ball players. My recommendation is to take advantage of Coach Ron extremely positive attitude, go to one of Coach Ron's very low 50% off first lesson. The improvement that you will see, you’ll be glad that you gave Coach Ron a try.

Baseball Lessons

Coach Ron is awesome. He really takes his time with my 11 year old daughter who is extremely shy and has social anxiety. He is patient and gives great tips for her to remember certain things during different drills. She has improved so much in softball after just a few lessons with him. I highly recommend him. One on one lessons are the way to go if you want to help your child excel in baseball/softball. You can’t get this type of quality work through group practices alone.

Baseball Lessons

Coach Ron has worked with my 7 year old son for approximately 4.5-5 months now. He is a stellar coach and really spends the time with my son to teach him the foundational skills he needs to be a successful baseball player. During our first lesson, I was excited to see how quickly Ron was able to begin a development of a rapport with Maddox. Maddox’s fielding skills have much improved and his coaches rely on him to play defense since at this age, most kiddos are still learning the basics of fielding grounders and moving their feet. I have enjoyed watching Ron and Maddox work together and I see improvement on a weekly basis regarding skill development and increase of confidence from Maddox. Coach Ron has a fine establishment. There’s plenty of space and he continues to add to his operation. The added bonus for me is that he is adaptable to my ever changing schedule and genuinely cares for Maddox and his successes on the field. I consistently check in with Coach Ron on the weekends during game days and send him film bites for his review and analysis. Ron is always responsive and takes the time to tell me what he sees. Having been a competitive athlete myself from age 4 through D1 college, I can attest that Coach Ron is an outstanding coach and truly a subject matter expert in the sport. I highly recommend you consider Coach Ron as your next baseball coach prospect for private lessons. I wish I could convince him to coach my sons baseball team in Rancho Bernardo! You and your child will be in great care if you sign on to be coached by Coach Ron! I highly recommend him. A true professional, great role model and dedicated athlete who is committed to passing down lessons for the field and off the field. -Francesca Ramos (Maddoxs Mom)

Baseball Lessons

Exactly what my 8 year old son needs to improve his hitting skills for Little League. Coach Ronnie is great, patient and lots of experience. Took time to video and point out the exact areas on what he needs to change. We are booked for the next lesson, and my son can't wait!

Baseball Lessons

We found Coach Ron when the baseball season started. My son practiced pitching and batting with him, and made steady progress. He is a responsible and fun coach. At the beginning, my son was not happy to train with him. Because this is my son's first private training for baseball, which needs him to focus on practice for longer time. As they worked together, Coach Ron convinced my son. After the season finished, my son continued practicing with him. Coach Ron has a batting cage and a pitching area, so my son practiced pitching and batting every time. He also uses video analysis to assist the training so my son knows how to improve his skill. The price of Coach Ron is very reasonable, we subscribed monthly plan, so about $20/hour. And he is flexible about time, if we can't make the class, we can schedule a makeup.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    50% off first lesson! RATES: 30 minutes $30 1 hour $50 1.5 hour $70 2 hours $90 Month long packages: $250 (1.5hr of lessons/week) -6hr total $350 (up to 3hr of lessons/week) -12hr total Batting cage available 30$/hr (No private instruction included)

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I like to start with a conversation about what the customer and their parent is hoping to gain from private lessons. It is important to find out what their current approach is. Then, I like to see the playerin action, and follow up with a discussion about a game plan of how we can best adjust/tweak their skills as needed for the most consistent success possible.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have over 25 years of experience playing baseball, and was recruited by Head Coach Tony Gwynn to play baseball on scholarship at SDSU. AAU National Championship (SD Gamers 2001) All San Diego Section CIF: 2002 All Western League: 2000/2001/2002
