Steve and his crew are exceptionally professional, quick and on time. He and Jerry came to do a simple roof repair, and we are so impressed with them that we are now using them for all of our roofing, construction and restoration needs. These are the kind of guys I would be completely trusting to leave at the unlocked house if needed.

Would recommend Ron Paveloff Roofing. He made contact with me right away, gave me an est. We had a date to start the work scheduled but he had a cancellation so showed up a few days before and had the work completed and all cleaned up. Thank you.

I'm glad the original contractor (Joe) never showed up for the job 8am per appointment (we cleared the garage and put everything in the yard out in the open ready foe Joe. You can just image how frustrated we were when the contractor did not show up or even call by 4pm). Mario from Creative responded to my online search and start working that very evening. Mario went the extra mile preparing before applying the epoxy paint on the garage floor. It was all completed the very next day. First class workmanship. While we waiting for the floor to dry. We already scheduled for Mario to come back next week to start working on the driveway. Two thumbs up highly recommended. D 9/9/2016

I had a small roofing job on a garage and Scot was able to accommodate me. They were considerate of my neighbors and "cleanliness" during the demo. He explained the process to me and actually completed the job a day early! I would recommend Scot to anyone who is looking to have some roof work done.

I recently got my roof replaced and couldn't be happier that I found Renovation Roofers to do it! From the 4 companies I called for estimates they were the only one that actually showed up on time. From all the estimates I got, theirs was the most thorough and the project manager took the time to go over everything with me on the spot. The new roof was installed, with all inspections completed within just 5 days! The entire crew was very professional and a pleasure to work with. The new roof looks great! Rather than wasting your time with companies that will leave you waiting, I would highly recommend using Renovation Roofers instead. Thanks Again!

I'm so glad that I chose CalPro over the roofing company that my sister recommended. When Art arrived, he made me aware of the condition that my roof was in. I knew it wasn't great, but he took pictures and really allowed me to make the right decision. My sister had recommended someone who did her roof, and was a little cheaper, but didn't have any financing options and when I started asking important questions like whether he was licensed and insured, that guy couldn't wait to get out of my house. Ironically, she has 2 leaks and has no idea when he'll get back out to fix them! CalPRO however showed up on time, cleaned up after themselves and were finished in 2 days! Art also spoke with Zac, his manager who was able to get me a little better price on insulating my attic at the same time as my roof! Overall my experience with CalPro Renovations was top notch and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to my friends and family.

Tom is a gem! He immediately responded to my request for roof maintenance work & quoted a price that seemed too good to be true. The other quotes I had received were 25-50% higher. So I suggested that he come out and look at the roof just to be sure. He showed up right on time and was very personable & knowledgeable. He explained what needed to be done, what materials he would be using, and the price was exactly the same as he had originally quoted. So I asked him when he could do the job and he said he could do it right then & there. He had all the materials he needed on the truck & his crew was working on a large re-roof job, so he said he would do it himself. I received a professional invoice after he completed the work with before and after pictures. The quality of the work was top notch. What a great find. I highly recommend Tom Parks & TWP Roofing!

This letter will serve as a highly recommendation for the service that La Roca Builder did for us, on our new home construction. They have a great team that took care of all the guess work of home construction. They made sure we we’re always informed on how the city works with submitting plans and time frame of completion. We interviewed many contractors, but most of them couldn’t take care of the entire project and that’s why we hired them. Our home looks beautiful and we owe it all to Christian and his team from LA Rocca Builders not to mentioned J Balian Construction and Grandeur Construction, 3 teams, each team took care of different aspects of the projects all under one Roof; they all work together amazing! we love that they took care of it all, that made our new home build possible. 5 stars all the way Eddie Steeples Pacific Palisades P.S they wanted me to include that I was the actor that was on the show “My Name is Earl” aka “Crabman” And I gladly said yes, lol. Thanks Christian!

I was ready for some remodeling in my home. My kitchen needed an update and so did a few of the bathrooms. Searching google I found GIM and saw that they did energy efficient remodeling and upgrades. I contacted GIM and set an appointment for a consultant to come by to show me some options. The consultant showed us many samples of flooring, tile, roofing, painting, and multiple other products they offered. They even had their own architect to take care of the drawings for me and also had a 3d design for the kitchen. All the work was done properly and my home was left clean everyday. Appreciate all the hard work.

I called Miguel on Saturday. He went out to my rental property and gave me fair estimate. We agreed on price and he started the same day. The job was completed the next day on Sunday. He kept me informed throughout the job and sent me pictures with his iphone. The job came out great. Miguel did outstanding work and would highly recommend him. I will definitely call him for other properties I own for my roofing needs.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost for a metal roof?

Metal roofing installation is an attractive option thanks to metal’s long lifespan, hardiness and fire-retardant properties. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000.There are different types of metal roofs, each with their own installation needs and materials costs. Roof size also affects your metal roofing installation costs, as do regional labor rates. Roof size is measured in squares; one square equals 100 square feet. Here are some examples of the average cost for a metal roof:

  • Standard metal roof: $120-$150 per square to start, including materials and labor
    • A 30-square roof (a 3,000-square-foot roof) could cost between $3,600 and $4,500 for a typical three-bedroom home.
  • Snap-Loc metal roof: $200-$225 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $6,000-$6,750.
  • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.
  • Tuff-Rib metal roof: $250-$350 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $7,500-$10,500.
  • Mid-range metal roof package, including all accessories: $300-$500 per square.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000-$15,000.
  • High-end metal roof package — such as zinc or copper — and all accessories: $1,000-$1,500 per square.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $30,000-$45,000.

What is a standing seam metal roof?

A standing seam metal roof may be a strong, durable, safe choice when you’re considering metal roofing installation options. A standing seam refers to the raised seam where the sheet metal roofing panels join. Traditionally, shingles and roof panels lie flush to the roof, making them more prone to rust or penetration by water at their seams. In a standing seam metal roof, the raised (or standing) seams run vertically from the roof ridge to the eaves, with no horizontal seams. In addition, the fasteners joining the metal panels together are concealed, providing even fewer opportunities for water or moisture to build up. The cost to install a standing seam metal roof will depend on the type of metal you select, the size of your roof, and the cost of roofing labor in your region. Materials will play a major role in your metal roofing installation costs. If you select standard galvanized steel, the cost per square (100 square feet) might be in the $150-$300 range, while a high-end choice such as copper or zinc could be between $1,000 and $1,500 per square. Here is one example of cost:

  • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.

Can a metal roof be installed over shingles?

Metal roofs are durable, environmentally friendly, safe and budget-friendly. If you’re considering an update, metal roofing installation doesn’t have to mean completely removing your old roof. In many cases, metal roofing can be installed over your existing shingles. Research building codes in your state, as many require that after two roofs have been installed, all roofing materials must be completely removed before a third roof can be put on. This protects your home’s structural integrity and your family’s safety. Carefully read contractor reviews and choose someone with extensive experience with metal roofing installation. One concern when installing metal over shingles is that over time, condensation can build on the shingles and cause the metal to rust. This will lead to rust around the panels, making them more likely to come loose in a storm. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000. The wide price range represents different roof sizes, different types of metal, and the cost of labor in different parts of the country — and can also include the cost of removing an old shingle roof prior to installing the metal. As a line item, the average cost of removing an old roof to prepare for installing a new roof, plus adding new roof decking, costs on average about $45-$75 per square (the pro roofer’s term for 100 square feet), depending on the pitch of the roof. Always make sure you have a clearly written contract and a warranty on both the labor and the metal.
