Houman did great job building the inside of a closet for me as well as a few other tasks. He was polite, courteous and professional. and he brought a ton of tools with him.
American Castles Mike To the RESCUE!!! The water heater at my rental property burst on a Friday afternoon causing some major damage to the house. The renters were furious because their items got damaged and the house wasn't inhabitable after that. On the inside, the bathroom wall and under stairway closet were all soaking wet and drywall/carpet/padding had to be removed immediately to prevent mole build up. On the garage side where the water heater located, the entire wall was destroyed. so I called my home insurance who provided me with their preferred plumber who quoted an additional $540 out of pocket on top of what the insurance was going to cover just so he can bring up the water heater installation to code! He told me that it will take him 1+ week to order the water heater (duh...get one from Home Depot take only 1hr...which is what Mike did) and that he can install a temporary water heater and will charge $137/wk! He also referred me to a water damage restoration company which I was not too happy with either. Since it was an emergency and I went with that company. They came in and ripped out all the wet drywall without caring for any molding; especially for garage doors and closet doors! It seemed like what ever the water heater didn't damage, they did. They also broke my water heater intake shut off valve. damage the water heater over flow copper pipe. All I can say is I will not use them again! Back to the plumber, something was smelling fishy about his quote and so I called and questioned this plumber. His response was "Well, I will need to flush out the gas line and calibrate your water pressure...upgrade to the new California safety quote...put in earthquake straps...install new vent line since the new water heater nowaday don't use the old vent line!". I was not convinces so I started to Google for good local contractor and AMERICAN CASTLES (Mike Tay is the owner) came up from Thumtack along with few others from other websites. I contacted them and they came in and provided me quotes. Mike was the last one I contacted. He arrived within 30min. He checked out the damages and explained to me what needs to get done sequentially to get everything back in proper operation for my tenants. Mike is very knowledgeable and very patient in explaining things. I told him what the plumber had said, he laughed and told me the whole thing was a rip off and a scam! Another crock of bull**** and advised me against it. He told me to call my insurance company to inquire about using other plumber. Sure enough I was offered the "cash out" option which I didn't even know was available. I took that option and went with Mike for the repair. Mike knows how important it is for my tenants to get the hot water running again once the water damage restoration company completed the clean up/dry out the area (took 1 week). As soon as that company removed their equipment, Mike had his crew come in the next day (Saturday) to repair the garage dry wall and finished the installation of the new water heater and brought it up to code on safety on Sunday! He even added the water pan and installed drain pipe for me. I didn't even know such a thing exists (talk about quality...he treats it like repairing his own home!). The best part is his charge for the whole job including new water heater, earthquake straps, valve, drain pan, vent and new connection is far way less than what that plumber was going to charge me. I loved the fact he took the time to show me how things should be done up to code and what works for my situation instead of just giving a price and walking away. He did an awesome job! Unfortunately my landlord insurance's deductible was so high, I asked Mike to give me a quote for fixing the damage in the garage and inside the house. Mike's quote was very competitive and the best part is he is always willing to work with me knowing my situation (thx Mike). My bathroom paint is 16 years old so it was a challenge to match the paint for the new wall. After only quoting me for painting a small wall inside the bathroom, Mike decided on his own to paint the entire bathroom without charging for it. Now that what I call TAKING PRIDE IN YOUR WORK AND STICKING TO YOUR WORD!!! My summary is, Mike successfully completed the entire job and installation in four days. I would highly recommend Mike to anyone and will definitely be using and referring him to everyone I know.
Wow George gave me a great quote for shaving 7 closet doors and putting them on track and to replace a toilet. The day scheduled to do the work, he managed to fix my refrigerator lines and repair a drawer as well as the closet doors and replacinh the toilet. He had to go look for some parts at a couple of stores and got the job done. We're very happy with his service. We will definitely call him again.
I called RP Quality Construction initially just for an emergency door repair. Little did I know that the job would be so well done.. I would find a contractor for life :). Ricardo is not only punctual and passionate about his work.. He really strives to put out quality work (hence his company's name). I've had a closet built, backsplash done on my kitchen, paint work.. Etc.. Done by RPQC... And I am always satisfied with the product and PRICE! I am so grateful that there are still good people in this world.. Good business people! Good-hearted individuals are hard to come by... Ricardo is genuine, generous & too good to be true.. But he is!!!! Thank u RP Quality Comstruction! Can't wait to start our next home improvement project!

Our kitchen and bathroom renovation went so smoothly!! The owner, Guy, has a great eye for design and space planning so we just followed his lead because his ideas were so much better than ours. And at the end of it all, the execution was unmatched. This is definitely a company that cares about their clients. There was always somebody there to answer the phone, we had guys cell phone number in case we had any questions, and his staff is always pleasant and helpful. I would definitely hire him again.
Scott did a great job on our house this past summer. He built us an outside patio, tiled it with stone tile. He also built us a new closet which we love a lot. He is cheaper than a contractor and does a perfect job. I recommend his talent.
Scope - replace hallway floors (due to slight flooding/leak); gut reno one of the bathrooms; customize hallway closet(s). Pros: - Contractor was prompt to respond and quick to commence the job - Joe and his team are very professional - Quality of work is good - It is apparent that State Wide has a Subject Matter Expert for every aspect of the reno (different folks for plumbing, carpentry, tiles, flooring). Most likely 3rd parties but pros nonetheless. - flexible payment structure (also accepts CCs) Cons: - Execution was very slow; perhaps Joe's team was focused on bigger projects (it was mentioned on a few occasions) and it was apparent that our reno was not prioritized. - there were items that should have been spec'd out and ordered as to avoid delays (e.g. floor should have been matched on day1, subway tiles etc..). Numerous days were wasted as the team was waiting on the materials - my biggest frustration with the reno was the lack of empathy and accountability. Excuses/justifications were presented instead of just owning up to the significant delay (work was supposed to be executed in 10-14 days max; it took 30 days). It would have been completely fine if the delay was communicated properly instead of us hounding the team. Overall, we are happy with the renovation.
I worked with this team of builders over eight years ago and they have been my guys ever since. I trust their judgment, their ability to predict time frame for completion of a project and their adherence to the budget. They are professional, responsive and creative in their approach to solving problems. With this team you will feel like YOU come first. I highly recommend them for both a remodel and new construction. And lastly, they were very careful with my pets when my home was under major renovation. Major points for that kind of respect and care.
Octavio did a wonderful job on a wide range or projects around our home. From door installs to a closet build- he can do it all. Not only were his prices extremely fair but he had such a wonderful attitude. Will definitely be hiring him back!!
They created a hallway and extra bedroom with closet for our family. Job well done at a good price. Very friendly and reasonable.
Ken Kuhles, agreed to help me put my home in Woodland Hills back together after the Northridge quake, in 1996. Later, he expanded my master bathroom, added a large walk-in closet, office / sitting room with a wrap around fireplace, connecting to my master bedroom. I was so impressed by his calmness and knowledge. In 2006, moved to a townhouse in Woodland Hills, he did my total remodel, new kitchen, floors, bathrooms etc. When, I purchased a Tarzana home So. of the Boulevard in 2013, he added my new living room, walk-in pantry, powder room, entry, kitchen, and more. As you can see I use him over and over throughout the years! Beverly C
I hired JSJ Construction to paint the interior of my home, replace the baseboards and install new doors, closet doors and crown molding. In addition they built a linen closet into an existing closet, wired my living room for two new chandeliers and replaced the facia on my fireplace. The owner, Joe, was easy to work with, he always answered the phone when I called or returned my call promptly, and he gave me a very fair bid for the work. I recommend him to my friends and to you. I am pleased with their work and their business protocol. They began the job on schedule and completed it within the timeline promised. They were considerate of the people in the home as they worked. Their quality of work was very good, especially the fireplace facia which involved 5 different tiles and a good deal of grout work (excellent job).
Wesley arrived on time, looked at my long list of" to dos" and their problems, smiiled and began on the hardest: screening in my 4th floor balcony to keep the birds off. He added the upper closet rod I desperately need and hung a stain glass piece in the window. He continued for 6 hours uninterrupted, until all the art work was hung and the leaf was reinstalled on an antique table. He was knowledgeable, a problem solver who pleasantly explained what he was doing. A wonderful job! I will certainly call him again and recommend his services to my family and friends.
What an amazing job. Robin assembled 3 ikea closets. His quote was super competitive and there were no surprises other than how amazing and fast the job was! I can't recommend him enough, thanks Robin!
Cheryl from It's Organized helped us design our closets and kitchen cabinets. She was prompt, efficient and so experienced. Most importantly, she created amazing designs for us that maximize our space and ensure we are organized moving forward. I recommend them highly!
