Why I love Shape Up Studio...There are several reasons. First of all, there is something about that gym that feels different. There's really good energy and the atmosphere feels relaxed and fun at the same time. All the trainers are so kind, approachable and very knowledgeable. I've been going there for a few months now and have gotten to meet Markshane. He's very dedicated, professional, and filled with energy. He takes the time to really listened and help you reach your goals, whether it's loosing weight, training for an event, or simply keeping an active lifestyle. I also love my 30 minute circuit class on Tues & Thursdays with Vinny. That class is super fun and you go at your own pace. Getting massages with Christine, the massage therapist, is also a treat-Especially, when it's in the same building. They have a nutritionist there as well that can guide you and keep you on track. A lot of the comments below definitely resonated and seems that there is a commonality: and that is a great place to train with the support you need. That is why I love Shape Up Studio! P.s. Rich's style of training is like no other. He's not the yell at you trainer, he's not the clipboard trainer, he's a pure motivator. Rich is an artist in the gym. His training sessions are ever revolving. In the past year, no 2 training sessions have ever been the same. I can't say enough good things about training with Rich, but if you want to change who you are physically for the long term, he's the trainer for you.

Lana has been a great personal trainer for my needs. I think she was a perfect match for me in the sense that she isn't as aggressive as other trainers yet pushes me further than I think I can go. Therefore I feel comfortable with the training sessions and do not dread going to see her. I have seen amazing results sooner than I had anticipated.
I am so glad that I was able to choose Dustin R. as my personal fitness trainer. He works extra hard to meet and surpass our weekly goals. I am amazed on how dedicated he is to training me each session because he's always out early to set up and prepared all my exercises for the day. What I like most about his training is that he's always motivating me to go that extra inch no matter if I'm down to my knees. He not only trains me alone, but has also does group training for my friends and I which makes me work twice as hard. If you want results, have a healthy diet and be prepared to train hard with him for your best results.
I hired Tom initially to get in shape for my approaching wedding in Hawaii, which I then continued for 3 months after as the results were excellent. Tom pays attention to your goals, habits, metabolic type, and physical abilities. His diet suggestions and diversity in workout routines kept things interesting and fun (as fun as working out can be at first!) Tom's knowledge of CrossFit training, weights, and various other disciplines set him apart from your typical 24hr fitness trainer. He was willing to be flexible with my work schedule and was always available for a quick call or text. Tom provides encouragement, support, and puts together a solid plan to achieve your goals. I would highly recommend Tom for anyone hesitant or intimidated by the gym and or initial commitment of getting in shape.
I've been doing personal training since 2010 through many different trainers, my all time favorite was with Brittany. I went through a phase where I wasn't conditioned to training, had gained weight and wasn't use to lifting weights. The first time we trained together, I thought it was really weird but she made it of importance about my breathing and posture and didn't just get right back into lifting like I use to. A couple sessions later, I really actually felt a difference because she made it important to recondition myself and make sure that I breathe properly while I train! She not only made me feel physically fit, she was a great person to talk to, and made me feel great while I worked out and constantly pushed me to be a better person. I wouldn't ever want another trainer, and when I'm done with my break from training, Brittany and I are going to be back out there hitting those new PR's!
I recently did a private instruction session with A. Doyle. It was my second time ever doing yoga and I was intimidated by the atmosphere of a gym class. Allison's instruction was the perfect alternative. I didn't feel self-concious at all. I learned classic yoga poses and breathing techniques. She tailored the lesson to my beginner level and was very attune to my particular strengths and limitations. She had alernative poses ready for me in the case that something was too challenging, so I never felt like I "couldn't" do the lesson. She was attentive to correcting my form (making "adjustments") so that I had a good foundation to start on. I feel that in a group class I wouldn't have gotten nearly the personal attention. She takes her time and even repeated the lesson once we were finished (without my asking) so I could try it at a different pace and with my new knowledge. I appreciated that she didn't watch the clock or appear rushed in the least. She seems to truly love what she does and is perfectly suited for private instruction. Her rate is more than fair for the quality of instruction you receive.
Where to begin! First off Matt is seriously just amazing and one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. He truly loves what he does and cares about each and everyone of his clients. When I first started training with him I was around a size 10 pushing 12, after training with him for about a year, I am down to a size 4 and have lost a decent amount of weight but also put on a lot of muscle. He helped me become the strongest I've ever been in my life and become more confident in myself. He helps you understand what you should eat and how you should be eating. So it's not that he's just training you, he's also teaching you. I can't even begin to tell you all that he has taught me. If you need a trainer, he truly is your guy. He will help you reach whatever goals you have and you will love the training sessions!
I love Lisa! Her prices are unbeatable, and she's very understanding and flexible. Our sessions are always super fun, and she feels like family. She pushes when you say push, but is careful to avoid anything that could strain or injure you. I referred my sister to start training with her as well, and she really likes it too.
I did a lot of research on the internet on Fitness Trainers before deciding on Colby and was thoroughly impressed & satisfied with the training program he set out for me. I loved the professionalism of the whole experience; his knowledge, work ethic, the FACILITY & STAFF. It was not a "meat locker" but people with a common purpose working hard to attain it. What I love was Colby was 100% on me in training ... no wandering eyes, answering phone with other clients and NEVER gave me the sense he was board with what he was doing. Always encouraging and keenly aware of what I was going thru mentally as well as physically. Though I have moved out of the area, I still hitting him up with advice and help & he always responds ... he is the man! Try that with some of the other trainers after your contract is up! Highly recommend him to anyone that is serious about their training on ALL levels. I am no pin up model lol. Thanks Colby!
I am originally from Germany and I stay in San Diego until March. I found Candon online via Thumbtack. The contact was quick (within 30 minutes) and uncomplicated. After having an injury related to distance running and switching to a cross fit style workout and getting a lower back injury I was feeling very discouraged. I started working with Jon and could not be happier with the workouts and results. He really takes into account not only what exercises I need to be doing to recover from my injuries, but also what type of training I want to be doing. A lot of trainers will put clients on a plan without considering what the client likes or what type of workouts they would like to do. I’ve really enjoyed progressing with heavier lifts and having the one on one training has been crucial to not becoming injured again. I always have fun with Jon and could not be happier with my expierence training with him.
Pete is great at creating ability specific strength training work-outs. He is always changing it up and makes each work out an appropriate challenge.

Working with John is great! He's very knowledgeable on strength training and nutrition. And he comes right to you! (I can work out conveniently at the fitness center in our condo community.) Also, his price is very reasonable.

The greatest part is that this is only the beginning of her fitness journey! We are still training to this day, and she continuously strives to be better. I am so excited to see what goals she can achieve and how far she can go!
All I can say about 1 on 1 Trainer is WOW! They are excellent, professional and convenient. I did a ton of research on trainers and 1 on 1 Trainer has by far the best prices for individual personal training. It wasn't even close! Not only was the price great but the quality of the workout was amazing! If given the option, you should choose them!

I made about three different appointments with different trainers and Bobby was my first apt . After meeting him I canceled all my other appointments!! I Met with him, he slayed me and had me break a sweat base off workouts of my interests and base off my goals. He didn’t waste no time. He Went right into the start of helping me reach my goals. After, we sat down went over my goals and nutrition plan. I left feeling so positive and great that I canceled my other apts. hands down and without a doubt that this is going to be a great training experience for me.
