I specifically selected Nader as my violin instructor because of his experience teaching adult beginners. I'm an absolute beginner with the violin and with reading music. I've been taking lessons for a month now and have made solid progress with both. Nader was the right choice for me and I look forward to working with him long term.

My kids took piano lessons all the time in the past and barely progressed. With Ryan. They are advancing faster and he keeps them motivated! We all love his classes

I first had the pleasure of working with Amy on a project of original songs written by a mutual friend. She is a very gifted violinist with an impeccable ear. Years later, my now husband and I hired her to play at our wedding. She is a complete professional and I would recommend her to anyone looking for lessons or a seasoned musician.

Jennifer is absolutely amazing. She has influenced my daughter through music in such a positive way. My daughter has become incredibly passionate about music and looks forward to her weekly lesson. She’s taken huge leaps in her skills and has grown tremendously because of Jennifer.

Before taking piano lessons with Rebecca, my only experience with musical instruction was through elementary and junior high. Rebecca's training and personal dedication to music makes her an extraordinary teacher. We use the Suzuki books, which I love because that's what I used for violin and flute. She supplements those favorites with really nice adult-learning-centered books on theory. As an adult learner, this was helpful, because I could read through these brief books, but then had the terminology to look up my questions online or know what to ask in lessons. The lessons are so fun and well organized. We work on the songs in the books (which included CDs of the songs so you can hear what the song might sound like if you practice enough) and she would help me with songs I brought in too. Rebecca is so kind, and is great with my five-year-old too. Really, Rebecca is an excellent music instructor. Her academic background, many years of actually playing piano and singing, knowledge of the music available and books, and variety of students -- all make her a versatile teacher, capable of helping anyone learn to the play the piano in whatever style they are interested in. Plus, she is an incredible person. I look forward to piano lessons with her.

When I started taking guitar lessons over 5 years ago, I thought it was just going to be a fun hobby. But now it's my passion. The way that RBSOM organizes this company is truly inspiring. From the lessons to the concerts, it's what makes everything for together. The teachers are amazing! They never have a bad thing to say and they really like to get to know each student on a friendship level. The concerts are also a great way to meet people just like you! You almost never have the same band for each song or concert. Age doesn't matter when you are have a great time laughing and playing some music.

I have been taking flute lessons from Ms. Wilson for close to 4 months now and its been a great experience so far. I had very little idea of music and had no such formal training but wanted to learn flute. She is supportive from day 1 and started to teach me the basics of music and flute. She is very calm, listens to my problems when I don't get some things easily and tries to suggest solutions. She has been very flexible in class timings and adjusts her schedule to accommodate me when I can't make it to the class on some days. I wish I get to learn a lot from her and become a good flutist.

My children had music lessons with "Miss Lisa" for over ten years now, in both piano and voice. Now, she is even helping my young actress daughter with her audition monologues. She is a very gifted instructor, and is willing to step out of the box to encourage students and to develop their skills. Patient, kind, and thoughtful, she is nowhere near the "scary piano teacher" stereotype. We have followed her through several locations, and are excited for the new Encinitas Music Workshop. My daughter now has hour-long private voice lessons weekly, and still learns new things on a regular basic. At the new workshop space, there is also an opportunity for a break of pace with Guitar Hero, percussion learning, piano, and other musical pursuits.

I highly recommend US Music Lessons! My 14-year-old son has been with US Music Lessons for nearly a year as part of the Rock Band class. He is a drummer and has loved playing with other students in his band as they learn together the skills they need to be part of an actual rock band. They have played multiple times at local venues, including the Hard Rock Cafe, which has been an incredible experience for the kids. Although my son already was a drummer coming into US Music Lessons (Thanks to his grandfather), he has learned a great deal from the wonderful teachers that instruct the Rock Band. My son plays with kids every week who have been students of US Music Lessons learning various instruments, including voice lessons, and their experience has been positive. The kids coming out of US Music Lessons are all gifted and talented young musicians thanks to the wonderful teachers dedicated to their musical growth. The Rock Band class is an innovative, fun and inspiring way to teach music in that it develops a love and passion for performing and therefore a desire to improve on a daily basis. Playing with others that are like-minded and receiving the feedback in an actual performance class from the instructor has been an invaluable experience for my son.

Really wide range of music knowledge and skills, and highly effective at teaching anything from the basics to super technical. Invests a lot in his students. Patient, fun, and flexible. One of the best teachers I’ve ever had, and that’s coming from 7 years experience with Academia.

I've worked with tim mcmahon now for several years, and I can honestly say that this man knows the drums! In addition to being a great drummer, Tim is a talented teacher as well. Tim is professional, knowledgeable, and so easy to get along with. He has very creative ways of helping his students reach their goals. A fantastic teacher! I have learned so much about music from Tim.

I highly recommend studying voice with Elizabeth Kimery! I am a professional singer and classic musical theatre performer (BA Vocal Performance); I’ve studied with some terrific teachers, but Elizabeth is who I’ve clicked with the most, and who has helped me to sing whatever style of music I've wanted/needed to, to the best of my ability. While we have worked on a lot of classical music together, she is the only teacher who has helped me develop a very healthy contemporary musical theatre/belt sound, as well as ways to switch back and forth between styles (if you’d like examples, you can check out some of my recordings here: http://www.ashleywagnerarts.com/). That has been invaluable to my work! I studied with Elizabeth while living and working in San Diego (shows with Lamb’s Players, Cygnet, etc…) and worked with her on audition prep for Disney. I was hired by Disney Cruise Line as a singer/actor (primary role, Mary Poppins), later worked professionally in Washington, DC, before recently relocating back to CA. I’m thrilled to be studying with her again! If you live in San Diego and want to study voice (including more than only classical music), you need to call her. Her rates are affordable, she is very caring, and if you give her a chance, she will help you greatly.

I found Dave Lake back in 2001 when I was first learning about the drums. He was very patient with me an taught me all of my rudiments. Now I play in a band and can't thank Dave enough for his guidance!

I truly enjoy taking music lessons from Dave. True to his passion for teaching, Dave is able to tailor each of my lessons to help me learn in a way that is best for me. I started playing my saxophone six months ago as a hobby and in that time he has guided me through learning how to keep time all the way to being able to play cover songs of popular music. He encourages me to pick music that I am interested in and he tailors each lesson to teaching me the skills that I need to master each song. I highly recommend Dave as a music instructor for any adult that is looking to play a woodwind as a hobby!

I am delighted to work with Ron Haslam. I am working on rudiments and learning to read music and he has an excellent approach using stick control and how to strike the drum properly to reading drum music and incorporating this in every rhythm we study.

I’ve learned a great deal from studying with Marion at least ten years now. She has always been able to help me with specific problems on both my c flute and alto flute. She plays all styles besides classical: jazz, pop, rock (she had a Jethro Tull tribute band) and especially excels at contemporary classical music on many lower flutes. She can play piccolo if she has to but prefers c and lower flutes. She is an expert of low flutes. She is an experienced adjudicator and knows flutists locally and internationally, always participating in NFA and the British equivalent. She is flexible. She’s played with me at recitals even. She has a vast library of printed music and almost always something new to show me. Most of all she believes that flute playing should be fun. She’s current with new technologies and hasn’t been strict with me which I appreciate. I think her fee is reasonable considering her knowledge and level of playing. I highly recommend her.
