What do you love about your job?
I enjoy creating functional solutions that also have great designs for the spaces that my clients love to work and live in.
What or who inspired you to start your own business?
I come from a long line of entrepreneurs, so it just seemed like the thing I had to do was the thing I love with the freedom I desired.
Describe your most memorable project.
My favorite project is the restoration and partial renovation of my grandparents' home, in which I now live. It is a Spanish Mediterranean Revival style duplex in the Miracle Mile area, a neighborhood in the center of Los Angeles. It is filled with architectural details that create the glorious and grand feeling of the house, with corbels at the entrance and a tiled mansard roof with pigtails at the roof line that you see as you approach from the street. There are arched doorways, a vaulted, stenciled ceiling in the living room, the original embossed wallpaper on the walls and ceilings in most rooms, an embossed wallpaper-covered ceiling in the master bedroom, and two types of cove ceilings in the guest bed room and the breakfast room, which also have elaborate embossed paper up the walls and on to the ceiling. The original tiles in the entry hall, kitchen, and baths add to the depth of the visuals and demand that you work with the strong colors in them to make the rooms work visually.
