A few weeks ago I came to a realization that my birthday was soon approaching, I wanted to give myself a gift.....the gift was to UnStuff my Life. I wanted to enjoy the last stage of life without anxiety after collecting 35 years of clutter. I wanted to be able to spend my days at home in a relaxed and carefree environment. I was overwhelmed with the job of uncluttering and faced the fact that I could not do this big job alone. I went to the Thumbtack website and did a search on home organizers. I received responses and did interviews over the phone. I was very impressed with the responses given to me by Deborah Smith so I felt that I did not need a face to face interview. My home is located about 50 minutes from her home so I was fearful that she would not accept the job. I held my breath until she made an appointment to assess and begin the task if we were a fit.....phew! Now I can relax. Deborah help me choose items to purge, sort and find new homes for those items. It can be very emotional for the homeowner to purge because of the memories associated with the item. Deborah taught me some little techniques to be able to let go. I equated her job to that of a psychologist where she analyzed, worked with my insecurity and made subtle suggestions when I was in a quandary about keeping or purging. She taught me to prioritize and to realize that it is the memory and not the item itself. We were able to work in harmony with each other so the process became much easier and pleasant. I know that I am not perfect, therefore, I plan to have Deborah revisit at times to help with a quick tune-up.
The stress I was feeling about moving out of my Hollywood home was overwhelming. I needed someone that was going to hold my hand through the process. After shopping around for the best deal, this was it for me. Having people come into my home is very personal and I also needed confidentiality. Kay and her team were very friendly and accommodating to my needs. Everything ran smoothly and they earned my trust. All my personal belongings were in good hands and it was not stressful at all. When I moved into my new home, they were there to help me unpack and decorate. It was fun working with the same team throughout the entire process. My new home is great thanks to Kay!
Full cleaning 2700 sq ft home - 9 hours. Best brokered or web-led housecleaning experience EVER. Michael is a smart (IQ and especially EQ) and articulate man who quickly became immersed (with a ton of energy) in our tasks with a high level of sensitivity to our particular home stage. He is a totally capable cleaner, sure - used a totally effective combo of his and our own chemicals, tools and methods - got the house lastingly clean (it's been 4 days since now, time to dispassionately inspect) in all the conventional ways, missed only a few nooks or crannies - and he sincerely wanted to know what we catch that he misses (we got the sense he'll remember for next time). BUT - what else? Most cleaners (especially on first time gigs) reveal a lot by how they handle the dusting / knick knack challenge - Michael got bookshelves and cabinets and chests and mantles and all that clean, "picking up" every little item to dust beneath, AND then surprised us by tweaking placement - staging - of MANY of the little precious things we've accumulated over the years and (not making this up) we had to agree 100% of the time that he'd put things back better than where he found them. He knew this was a scary thing to offer - told us some people ask him to refrain and he quickly restores things as they were ... but folks, this guy (he has apparently worked as a professional interior "stager") is genuinely talented - and this one housecleaning left us with improvements we really liked! So in addition to a VERY well cleaned home - we got insight and a freshening of how we live with some of our favorite little stuff. Hell of a deal - his rates are solidly in the middle of the market range for good cleaners. He has a great, informal way of handling scheduling and was totally candid upfront and easy about the business, personal space and performance aspects of a house-cleaning relationship. We'll have him back in a month for sure.
Louisa exhibits a great balance of focus and empathy. She is a extremely good at what she does. I appreciate her professionalism and patience
I have worked with another organizer and had a very bad experience. Her helper was great but when the owner came she was terrible. I was very careful when hiring my next organizer and went through a couple others before finding Adjusting Space. Finally a professional who works hard and doesn't leave a mess at the end of the day even though the job is not complete. She schedules and shows up when she says she will and does a great job. I am very pleased with what we have accomplished so far, she is coming back tomorrow to work on a very long project. I will be hiring her for more projects, I have a list that she can do and will do.
I have had the pleasure of working with Emily Lewis on several occasions over the last few years. Emily has helped me with a wide range of organizing projects, from packing and unpacking for moving house, to purging and organizing my pre-teen daughter's room, to helping me get through a massive paper build up on my own desk. Emily is compassionate about the fact that mess happens, and seems to have a magical touch in clearing it up. Tasks that seemed daunting, are suddenly and seamlessly handled with ease. Emily's organizing skills are flawless, but it is her supportive attitude and good humor that really makes a difference in how it feels to purge, organize and beautify spaces. I highly recommend Emily and the Art of Space!
I am needing to upgrade and review my wardrobe to increase my level of professionalism. I called on Madison for her help in going through my closet with me. The plan was to see what I might no longer need and to determine how appropriate my current clothing is for my job. We really covered a wide range of topics: She discussed with me the 4 color harmony system, her guess as to what my season was and a book that would give me the specifics regarding both color and even appropriate styles for each season. We reviewed each article of clothing to determine how much I liked it and wore it similar to the techniques Madison adheres to from Kondo's THE MAGIC OF TIDYING UP and whether it should be kept or donated. She developed a system whereby I put together a 24 hour pile for donation so I could really think about what I wanted and not feel any pressure to disgard or to disgard clothing too quickly. She offered the name of a designer who designed high end clothing similiar to the styles I already enjoy wearing and she sent links to that designer. She suggested I work with a free personal stylist at up to 3 of my local department stores explaining to me how best to work with them. She researched and located a well known city consultant for me to use as a resource if or in addition to the retail agents. We spent about 2.5 hours with few breaks and I learned that I could upgrade my current clothing simply by accessorizing more completely and what types of simple scarves and jewelry might be recommended or that I could discuss with a personal shopper. Although Madison is not a personal shopper she has decades of experience having had her own colors "done", having taken many seminars on "dressing for success" and years of personally networking with other business people. She has also pointed out that we've gone from a dress for success orientation to a significantly more casual orientation and yet professionalism is still important and can be achieved by weight of fabrics and accessories. She pointed out that just a few additional pieces like "real business pants vs jeans" could make all the difference so I didn't have to replace everything in my closet. She is fashion conscious and also budget oriented. What I enjoyed most about working with her is her positive disposition and her obvious passion for what she does. She has very strong detail orientation, high energy, a fabulous sense of humor and a real interest in my point of view. I really appreciate her ability to quickly find appropriate resources and websites for further research. I also have also witnessed her working on others clients and decluttering an entire floor to closet assembly and she is completely amazing. I highly recommend her for any project in the realm of wardrobe assessing & advising, decluttering, organizing, packing / unpacking and beyond. She will provide you tons of information and inspiration. Thank you, Madison! Your very satisfied helper & client, Megan Schmitz

I am so pleased with Prentice house cleaning services. They are efficient, professional, kind, easy to talk to, and amazing! My house looks beautiful and the owner identified all of the areas that needed deep cleaning before I even pointed them out. I am very impressed and would highly recommend their services to anyone.
The ProOrg team is professional, trustworthy and AMAZING organizers!! I've followed their work for awhile and am always inspired by the ideas they come up with!
I am a single Mom, business owner and have (5) rescue pets. My life is busy and messy on the best day. As much as I want an organized house, it is the last thing I feel like tackling at the end of the day. Monique came to my home and helped me make those 1st steps and now I am running! She has a kind and caring way to "nudge" you towards letting go of items past their time or really not needed in your life. I feel so much lighter without "stuff" weighing me down. Just being able to find things without searching the house for days is priceless! Her rates are very reasonable and she is quick/efficient. I would highly recommend Monique and Operation Organize!
Cara did great work in our first session together and charged a very reasonable rate. She arrived early, walked through my home to get an understanding of my biggest pain points, and then got to work helping me organize. She also left me with next steps for me to continue on my own and recommendations for organizing containers that would fit my space.
I wanted to leave a message to thank Karen Olsen (and thumbtack as a 1st time user) for her Great work on my home. Your home is part of your family and it takes a lot to make sure you have someone that you can feel comfortable with. Our correspondences before she came was clear, professional and accommodating. She was responsive and courteous but not invasive. She sent a message to let me know she was on the way and came at our agreed time. Her personality was awesome and one of the things we liked best about Karen was her willingness to make sure we were satisfied. She got right to work and did a wonderful job. She was forthcoming and said if there was something we missed or would like done on the next visit, to please let her know. This turned out better than we expected and we look forward to using her services in the future.
