I was hesitant to work with a certified personal trainer because I, like a lot of people, thought I can do this on my own. But working with Steve has helped me be more effective in my workouts and the results have been excellent so far. I'm consistently losing weight and for exercises I find uncomfortable he will adjust them for me so I can still get the same results with a different method. We are doing a lot of core work which I need and I feel better than I have in months. I would highly recommend working with Steve if you're considering treating yourself to a trainer. He has also overhauled my diet and has encouraged me to give up coffee (almost there!). He is knowledgeable and accommodating and your time will be used efficiently.
Baron is an amazing strength coach! His extensive knowledge and confidence in his field has been a tremendous asset for me and my goal of competing in a powerlifting competition. I am a woman, but that doesn't keep Baron from pushing me to lift weight I never thought I could lift! Of course, always safely and with lots of support. Baron knows that for women, strong is the new skinny! Thank you Baron for all that you do!
After years and years of wanting to have a personal trainer, I always pushed it off. But something about turning 25 was a wake up call for me. So I made the plunge and did my research and looked into plenty of Personal Trainers but none of them really stood out. It wasn't until using this service and Anthony reaching out to me is a very fast manner that I took the opportunity to meet with him. Let's just say after a quick 15 min phone call and getting to know one another, I was hooked and ready to go. I started my training session on Monday and for someone who really hasn't stepped foot in a GYM or lifted weights, Anthony understands that and works to your level. During the 30 min workout (which felt longer at times haha) he was with me every step of the way, motivating and encouraging me to complete my sets. It has truly been the best investment I have ever made and look forward to accomplishing my goals. You won't go wrong with God's Gym & Anthony as your trainer. This guy knows his stuff!
Evan was my trainer for a short 10 sessions and I wish I'd been able to train with him for longer (I moved to New York)! During our first meeting he immediately put me at ease, explaining that he wanted me to feel comfortable with him and I could ask him any questions I wanted. He's a great listener and was really respectful and receptive when I explained what I was looking for. So many trainers have an agenda they push on clients, or an attitude about fitness and weight loss that dominates. Evan isn't like that at all, he truly listens to what you want to accomplish and then helps push you to get there. Over the next couple months, Evan encouraged me to lift heavier weights than I ever thought I could. I left San Francisco feeling strong, and so much more confident in my knowledge of weight lifting and fitness in general. Lifting 50 pound suitcases and boxes during my move to New York was nothing at all, thanks to Evan!
Fast response. We got the workout plans set up within a couple days. Gerard is awesome, and he designs personal workout plans for you that best fit your training goal. He also has this fitness app that tracks your nutrition, workout and weight, which i think is very motivating and helpful. Would definitely recommend!!
John taught me how to live a healthy lifestyle, workout, and most importantly how to keep weight off! When I met John I weighed 210 pounds and was not happy with how I looked. I have really enjoyed working with Jackie and her team. Their training method is challenging and fun, and an hour session with them flies by. I am used to doing relatively strenuous weight lifting, cardio, and ballet, and I get a great workout on their program. It also works well for pre-natal, still going strong at 36 weeks!
I really liked that John insists on doing an intro session to see how I move, learn about any injuries, etc. - he really spent a lot of time with me to learn about what I wanted to achieve and WHY. He helped me to focus on the longer term goals and created an exercise program that is helping me feel great, become stronger, lose weight and avoid further injury. He's really knowledgable and the trainer he assigned to me (Rani) is as well - they're both professional, fun and kick my *** each workout (in a very good way, I mean - I'm always worn out but so proud of all I've done). I can't recommend John and his trainers enough - this is about changing for the long term for me and I know I've found the right coaches to succeed!
Xavier is just what I needed! I wasn't ready to workout in a gym setting, so I Googled personal trainers that would come out to my home. One of the results was Thumbtack, so I filled out my needs and goals. I got 2 emails with trainers that could come to me and out of the 2 results, Xavier stood out. His many years of experience in the fitness industry sold me. Also reviews from clients showed me that he was no joke, the real deal! I have a few pieces of equipment at home already but he brings other equipment that we utilize. He has a positive attitude, he stresses not to get down on myself, very motivational and doesn't let me quit. I have a few imbalances in my body structure and he has been able to adapt/accommodate and we are working on them. I've had 8 sessions with him so far and plan to continue to work with him. I definitely recommend him!
Hiring Gretchen was one of the best moves I made for losing weight. I had spent many years crash dieting, eating low calorie diets in an attempt to lose weight, only to gain it back quickly and pack even more pounds. She quickly detailed a meal plan for me to adhere to that was nutritious and filling, also giving me details on how to deal with eating at restaurants. Yes, it will be work on your end to measure and cook, but it's made my life easier not having to think about what I need to eat. My main battle with eating has always been mental and Gretchen really was there to coach me through my toughest moments of where I just wanted to give up ( Meal planning through the holidays was tough!) The weekly checkins were what I needed to get through this process knowing that I had someone that I had to report to (Makes me less tempted to eat unhealthy.) If you need a coach that will help set up a healthy sustainable lifestyle for you, I recommend Gretchen.
I've been training with David for about 5 weeks now. I decided to train with David initially because I felt like he listened to my goals and he sounded like he had a lot of experience. He was the first person I interviewed but I remembered that he was the most humble and down to earth, and I had a feeling I'd be comfortable training with him. All the men trainers I interviewed talked to me like I had two brain cells, and I found David to be the most up front and honest. My goal is to lose weight, tone up and to strengthen my left shoulder for outrigger canoeing. So far, I am noticing a huge difference with my left shoulder. Its stronger and it no longer bothers me when I go paddling or perform certain exercises. Its still not 100% in strength but has gotten a lot stronger through training. All our sessions are pretty different and varied. I never know what to expect from David, which is good. I get bored at the gym because I love the outdoors, but David keeps it interesting. David pushes me when he thinks I'm slacking off, which often times, he is mostly right about.... I need someone to push me or I will slack off, which is probably a good reason to hire a trainer. David goes out of his way to make it work for his clients. He genuinely cares about his clients and loves what he does. I can tell by the excellent service he provides for his clients. My personal belief is that its important to practice what you preach, and David is a trainer that is in great physical condition, and knows what he is doing. I personally did not want to hire a personal trainer at the local gym that looked like they needed training themselves... I highly recommend David as a personal trainer. Due to his diverse background, I believe he would be a great fit for many.
My personal training experience with Jason Fox consists of three-days a week of a mixture of strength and cardio exercises. Jason is very flexible and communicates in advance regarding any schedule conflictions or need to re-schedule a training session. Thus far, I have lost a total of 8 pounds since working with Jason the first week of January until now, and have received much counsel to help support my weight loss outside of session (eg: Food choices, suggested water intake, vitamin supplements, etc.) . In addition, Jason is a very charismatic trainer and pushes me to be a healthier version of myself without over exhausting my limitations (eg: asthma, weak wrists, etc.). I am comfortable in knowing that I will be pushed each week to exceed my performance of the week, and am constantly encouraged throughout my sessions when I want to give up on a workout component. Overall, I am very pleased with my personal training with Jason Fox and would recommend him to anyone looking to be mentally and physically supported in your journey to become a healthier version of yourself.
Before I began attending Vince's martial arts classes I was extremely shy and ashamed to go in because I was so over-weight. I would walk by his class and watch him and his experienced students and I so badly wanted to be there too. I finally decided to go in one day, despite of my hesitation, and that was the best decision I ever made. Since day one Vince has been extremely welcoming and tremendously patient and helpful. This last year I finally decided to take private training sessions with Vince and they are worth every penny. He's helped increased my cardiovascular and muscle fitness. The side effect of which has been weight loss. When I first started training in martial arts with Vince I was a complete newbie. I had no prior experience. After 2.5 years of training and an increase in private sessions I finally competed in my first fight. He has helped me every step of they way and has supported my growth as a fighter. Today we continue to train and are looking forward to new opportunities to compete. So far we have met 3 times. 2 on exercise training, 1 for a massage. And, he is right on cue! I pat myself on the back to have made the right choice (for my first time ever) to have a personal trainer. I won't add any photos (yet) but, in a couple of months, (I'm sure) I'll be able to share the "before" and "after"...photos.

Gabriel never fails to hit all the muscles in a particular muscle group that I’m aiming to train. He’s very detailed and makes the slightest adjustments to my form that allow me to better activate my muscles during my workout. He could make 10 lbs feel like 45 lbs. I’ve been weight training/lifting for four years now and this is the first time I’m actually seeing AND feeling the results.

I trained with Herman for about 8 months to get in shape for my wedding. He's incredibly knowledgeable, very patient and knew how to push me out of my comfort zone, but not in a way that made me too uncomfortable. I did lose weight but the best result was that I got stronger and felt amazing. I no longer live in the Bay Area, otherwise I'd have kept training with him. I'd recommend him to anyone looking for a quality trainer in SF.
Martin is an excellent personal trainer. He created a customized program for me. He found different and creative ways to keep me interested. Never boring! He is reliable, always on time and professional. He’s a great listener, patient and is a good motivator. BONUS! - He has extensive knowledge about food and nutrition. He will tell you what to eat, not be hungry and still lose weight. I highly recommend Martin to anyone who needs help and is ready to live a healthy lifestyle!

Matt is working with me twice a week on strength training especially for my core. He is very knowledgeable, professional, and very pleasant to work with. He is patient yet on each machine or exercise he frequently asks me if I can go up on weight, stretch further, etc. He creates a varied routine for me & I enjoy the sessions. Matt is always looking out for my safety & guides me as to proper form. He always takes into account my specific weak areas. He is flexible w scheduling. I've worked with three very good trainers however, I feel I've made the most progress toward my goals with Matt. I look forward to my sessions with Matt & my mind/body feel good when I go home. I know I'm in good, professional, experienced hands.
