I usually don't like to rely on others, I like to make sure things are perfect myself! I entrusted Megan to coordinate day of for my wedding, and she sure delivered. I was relaxed the day of my wedding because I knew she wouldn't let me down. She sure delivered and then some! She set up floral she created, set up some greenery and decor we already had, did our arch floral, all bouquets, boutonnieres, and total event set up as well as busing and serving. The day was perfect, and a large part of it was thanks to her! The guest raved about how beautiful everything was. I will definitely recommend her!

AMAZING! Tess has ALL the qualities that you want in the PERFECT wedding planner from pre planning and anticipating all considerations for the "day of" and addressing all the issues "day of" as they arose... She was proactive and reactive in a VERY professional way. Tess also has a really nice demeanor and sensitivity to the needs of the bride that was uniquely comforting to the bride and the mother of the bride. She went beyond the call of duty with a great attitude, 100% of the time and did not stop her efforts until the reception and all the clean up was handled. Very organized. You can fully trust and count on Tess and her leadership at Honeysuckle Jade Events & Design.

Kim is a wonderful event planner to have on your team! We found her to be very understanding of the type of wedding ceremony we wanted and she asked great questions to keep us thinking. Her years of experience have helped us plan our small, ideal destination wedding ceremony.

Ingrid and Stacy have surpassed all expectations I had for wedding planning services. Initially I was very stressed to even be planning a wedding, however with their help they've put me at ease by going over many items I wouldn't have even thought of. They are always available when I have questions and go above and beyond by verifying contracts with all my vendors. The nice thing is they are also willing to work on custom peices like signs, center peices and even arrangement of flowers. Most other wedding planners dont have the time commitment and money saving ability to tackle do it yourself projects. This has allowed me to have things I would have never been able to afford like a paper flower wall for photos and candy station. When I priced these things through a 3rd party they were completely out of reach. Ingrid and Stacy are a great team and I recommend them to anyone planning any event big or small.

Shelby is absolutely incredible and I can’t imagine how my wedding day would have gone if it weren’t for her! From the weeks leading up to the wedding, to the actual day, she was always so communicative, receptive to my ideas, and just so reliable! My wedding didn’t start until 4pm and she was at the venue at 7am!!! Setting everything up and making sure everyone was on the same page for what needed to be done. Like every wedding day, there were random things that came up but she immediately stepped in and just made the entire day run so smoothly. I truly was stress-free and was able to enjoy my day because of all the work, effort, and love she put in to making my wedding special. I still feel so blessed by her help. Shelby is an amazing problem solver, and will go above and beyond to make sure you’re worry-free on your special day! She even went to the dry cleaners for my husband’s suit and got us coffee! Something she offered to do all on her own- I didn’t even ask!! She is such a professional and reliable person, you can tell she absolutely loves what she does!

Janet was the officiant at our wedding in April 2016. Besides doing an awesome job at the wedding she helped my husband and I write our vows.We told her a little about ourselves and using her insight she put in to words exactly what we wanted to say. I would highly recommend Janet. Jissa

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    What is a wedding planner?

A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

How much does it cost for a wedding planner?

Wedding planning is a full-time job — unless you hire a professional to handle the hard work for you. The cost for a wedding planner will depend on the level of service you desire. The least expensive wedding planner option is day-of coordination, then partial service, then full-service.

The national average cost for wedding planning is between $990 and $1,300. Costs are greatly affected by region, with rural or smaller-town wedding planners often far more affordable than planners in higher-cost cities. Here are some examples of the various levels of wedding planning and their potential average costs:

    • Day-of-wedding coordination: $800-$1,700. Day-of services can include the planner finalizing all details, creating a timeline, confirming vendors and overseeing all setup, day-of activities, and cleanup. The couple does all the front-end planning and contracts all the vendors. Time commitment could be about 15-25 hours, depending on pricing.
    • Partial service: $1,500-$3,800. Here the planner works with the couple from the beginning, helping contract vendors, creating a timeline, and overseeing all details of day-of execution. Time commitment could be about 30-60 hours, depending on package and pricing.
    • Full service: $3,500-$8,000 or more. Here the professional handles all wedding and planning details including working on design, securing rentals, getting the venue and vendors, and handling complete execution of the event. Time commitment could be 50-150 hours or more, depending on package and pricing.
    • Consulting: $50-$150 per hour for design, vendor, reception and other wedding planning consultation.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
