About

Andi is a really awesome guitar instructor. I started guitar lessons with him with absolutely no experience playing an instrument or knowing how to read sheet music. But because he is really patient, knowledgeable, and at ease with teaching, I have been able to pick up how to play the guitar and reading the tab handouts he gives me after each lesson. He goes at the student’s pace and is willing to change his lessons to teach what new songs I want to learn. After each lesson I am always inspired and reminded why I wanted to take up guitar lessons in the first place. Andi was the very first instructor I met and I’m glad I did. I could not recommend him highly enough as an instructor.

About

I contacted Robert as he is one of the few guitar instructors that I found willing to work with my 3 1/2 y.o. boy. Through the communication process, I ended up wanting to learn guitar myself, and it has so far been a great experience. He's very understanding of our little guy and has been an excellent instructor to for this beginner student. He also gets my little guy even more excited about guitar lessons.

About

I am a bass player who has always played guitar here and there but nothing too serious, and about a year ago decided I really want to know the fundשmentals of guitar. A friend recommended Jacob Light, whom I've heard play before in local bands, and I decided to take the chance. I wasn't dissapointed to say the least. Jacob is a really down to earth guy who immediately understood my musical style and focused mainly on what I wanted to know, unlike other teachers I've had experience with. Even so, he knew what subjects to insist I learn, like improvisation. and scales. all this was done in a friendly, calm, cool yet persistent atmosphere which is just the right blend for learning, in my opinion.Soon enough I started feeling I really understand guitar, and this new kno'ledge even helped me with my bass guitar playing. Ive been taking guitar lessons with Jacon for 6 months and the only downdise I can think of is the fact he moved to California, otherwise I would have still take lessons from him, without a doubt.

About

I initially thought about looking into lessons with Garth after I saw him perform. He's truly an incredible guitar player with a style that is uniquely his own. It's probably why he's been invited to play with legends such as Miles Davis. Shortly after seeing Garth perform, I was playing at a party and happened to meet a guy who said he was a bass player and had only very recently taken up guitar. So when he began playing in an impressive manner, I asked him how he got so good, so quick. His answer was that he'd been taking lessons from Garth. I'd heard enough. I booked lessons with Garth and have been taking lessons with him ever since. Garth's teaching style is very player friendly. He understands that the ultimate goal is to acquire the ability to make great music and to have fun doing it I've had some good teachers in the past, but I've never enjoyed the experience as much as I do with Garth. He's very laid back and able to break down licks and techniques in a manner that is easy to grasp. He allows me to record my lessons and each day I look forward to reviewing the material that we covered. I would highly recommend Garth to anyone looking to learn guitar.

About

I have taken bass lessons from a handful of instructors over the years. Ariane is different. She has explained things to me that I have either never heard or never understood in new ways that help me to connect the dots. She makes the lessons fun and always challenges me and encourages me to stretch myself while giving me to the tools to do so. Do not hesitate to give hear a test drive.

About

I have been taking lessons from Josh for about a year now (for guitar). He really makes guitar lessons fun, but teaches you a lot at the same time. He doesn't make you do crazy amounts of work either. He's very flexible when it comes to what you want to learn: he let's you bring your own music in, and he is very knowledgeable about different genres as well. I always am looking forward to the next lesson. The best environment for learning music is when you can just freely play with your friend or someone you are comfortable with...that's the environment Josh creates in his lessons, a jam session!! I would strongly recommend Josh to anyone looking for guitar/ukelele lessons! Thanks Josh!

About

My name's Jeff Feldman and I'm a guitar teacher in San Francisco, specializing in teaching beginners. I also teach songwriting for guitarists. I've studied music for the past 17 years, including studying music theory, composition, and aural skills at the University of Puget Sound, where I earned my BA. Before teaching guitar full-time, I taught beginning sailing and racing to students ages 8 to adult, and am a TESOL-certified teacher. My philosophy is simple: Guitar should be fun. My years as both a student and a teacher have taught me that making a subject fun involves a personal connection to the material, giving yourself small challenges to overcome, and feeling like you are making consistent, real progress -- all in an environment where you feel safe and free to make mistakes. I enjoy working with students of different ages and backgrounds, and particularly enjoy helping beginners discover their inner musician. No prior music experience is required. For more information on me, my background, and guitar lessons in San Francisco, feel free to contact me with your questions.

About

I create a unique curriculum for each of my students based on their individual interests and needs. All of my students get a strong base in practical theory, technique, and rhythmic awareness. I teach musical styles ranging from pop, jazz, and blues to rock, folk, and funk. Students are encouraged, but not required to read music. My holistic approach to teaching ensures that students get the theory, technique, musical awareness, and aural development necessary to become a strong musician. My students learn to fix and adjust their own instruments and, when applicable, how to use various electronic effects, such as reverb, delay, distortion, etc. I encourage a productive practice routine, and help students organize their time while working on new materials and just playing for fun. Whether you or your child have never played guitar or bass, or you have been playing for years and want to keep learning, I will help you gain knowledge and fulfillment from music!

About

I'm a classical/Spanish guitarist and teacher. I teach in all styles, but have received extensive training in the techniques used for "finger-style" guitar. I love to perform and teach equally, so I'm not one of those frustrated teachers who'd rather be somewhere else. I've performed all over the Bay Area (CA) and specialize in weddings and private events. That said, I often play in restaurants or for tastings in wine country, and I'm good in setting the right mood for any occasion. My teaching style varies per student, with focus on long-term goals, while achieving short-term success. I'm relaxed, but to the point with my students, while emphasizing discipline and enjoyment, not stress.

About

I've been teaching guitar and music theory since 1991 in almost all styles which include rock soloing and rhythm techniques, blues, beginning jazz as well as various finger style genres such as folk, classical and flamenco. I teach beginner to advance students. I often use the student's favorite songs to incorporate theory and technique. I am patient but thorough and always respectful and professional. I believe in trying to pass on my strong love of music alongside essential musical knowledge. To me, music is about joy, passion, meditation, healing and self expression. I've been hooked since the age of 8!
