2. Meredith Yoga
"Having spent a couple of years over-training/competing for triathlons, marathons and crossfit my body was an over-trained mess. My physical therapist (post shoulder reconstruction surgery) recommended that I considered yoga to help with my overall elasticity I reluctantly agreed to give it a shot. Having spent a couple of years over-training for triathlons, long distance running and crossfit competitions my body was a mess. When my physical therapist (post shoulder reconstruction) asked if I had ever considered yoga, I to her that Yoga for me was another workout offered by my mega-gym. I even tried to make it competitive by "out-planking" the dudes around me in class! This is where Meredith entered my life.
I had zero desire to become a "yogi", but I did want to take the post-op opportunity to rebuild my functional movement. Meredith was able to break down my alignment and reconstruct me bit by bit. What I didn't realize it at the time but slowly came to appreciate was that yoga became less about physical strength and more about internal alignment. Without being "preachy" and after multiple 1:1 sessions, I found that I was not only more flexible, strong and open physically on the mat but that the same was showing up for me in relationship to myself and others. Crazy-guess they were on to something 5,000 years ago. I remain grateful for what Meredith was able to share with me. Now I have a practice that I can take on the road with my work travel that is energizing and sustainable. Thanks Meredith!"
