Before taking piano lessons with Rebecca, my only experience with musical instruction was through elementary and junior high. Rebecca's training and personal dedication to music makes her an extraordinary teacher. We use the Suzuki books, which I love because that's what I used for violin and flute. She supplements those favorites with really nice adult-learning-centered books on theory. As an adult learner, this was helpful, because I could read through these brief books, but then had the terminology to look up my questions online or know what to ask in lessons. The lessons are so fun and well organized. We work on the songs in the books (which included CDs of the songs so you can hear what the song might sound like if you practice enough) and she would help me with songs I brought in too. Rebecca is so kind, and is great with my five-year-old too. Really, Rebecca is an excellent music instructor. Her academic background, many years of actually playing piano and singing, knowledge of the music available and books, and variety of students -- all make her a versatile teacher, capable of helping anyone learn to the play the piano in whatever style they are interested in. Plus, she is an incredible person. I look forward to piano lessons with her.
I am so glad we found Ryan for private piano lessons for my son. My son tried group lessons but never seemed to have enough instructor time and became frustrated with how it was taught. Ryan is flexible with his teaching methods as to mesh with how my son learns to play. My son enjoys and looks forward to his lessons each week. I highly recommend Ryan for private piano lessons- JO
I have been taking flute lessons from Ms. Wilson for close to 4 months now and its been a great experience so far. I had very little idea of music and had no such formal training but wanted to learn flute. She is supportive from day 1 and started to teach me the basics of music and flute. She is very calm, listens to my problems when I don't get some things easily and tries to suggest solutions. She has been very flexible in class timings and adjusts her schedule to accommodate me when I can't make it to the class on some days. I wish I get to learn a lot from her and become a good flutist.
I have known September for almost 20 years and her dedication to teaching music and flute is an inspiration to all! She is an expert in her field and I would highly recommend her school and teaching to flutists of all ages.
I enjoy teaching at B&H because the students and I have a private studio with air conditioning. I don't have to dodge traffic jams on the 5 or the 78 which cause delay in the schedule. There is plenty of parking in back of the store and the parents can do errands while the kids have a music lesson. If the students need reeds or new method books, the parents can purchase everything at the store. I teach all ages and all levels and I believe everyone can achieve on a musical instrument. Terri is a wonderful teacher. I began taking cello lessons from her earlier this year. She is patient, talented, and extremely knowledgeable. I would recommend her to anyone with a desire to make music!
My daughter has been seeing David for flute lessons for a little over a year now. She has learned so much from David from fingering technique, to breathing control, to just giving her that confidence she needs knowing that she is learning and doing better every time she sees him. I cannot be more impressed with what and how he has been teaching her! When she has exceeded what he has been teaching her David will give her a harder lesson to work on.
My 10 year old son, Jaden, has been taking piano lessons from Rick for going on two months now. His lessons are once per week and he absolutely LOVES it! Rick is an amazing teacher. He is welcoming, knowledgeable, encouraging, and most of all, patient.ï Jaden has learned far more in the past 8 lessons than I could have ever imagined. Thank you Thumbtack! And thank you Rick! ï
I currently offer clarinet, saxophone, and flute lessons for all ages and levels. My studio is located at Space4Art, a few short blocks from the new San Diego Central Library and Petco Park. I hold a Doctorate of Musical Arts from UC San Diego and bachelor's and master's degrees in clarinet performance from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University.
It is my goal to foster a lifelong love of music and making music with others. I have been teaching all ages and stages in the communities of North San Diego County Inland for the past 15 years. I have learned to tailor each student's course of study to their individual need. For some, this includes participation in "The Music Development Program", an internationally recognized comprehensive, leveled certificate program. I encourage all my students to participate in our weekly flute choir classes. We do several performances each year. I also coordinate the very successful "Flutesteps Summer Flute Camp" which is now coming up on its fifth year.
I've played the flute for 15 years and have worked with children for 10 years. My experience allows me to understand my students and customize each season in way that will inspire and motivate them Also I was in one of the Marine Corps bands. I can help students audition for a military band as well as teach them the lifestyle and customs of being in the military.
I care about my students and have a genuine interest in connecting with them, so they get the most out of their lessons and will have a love of music for life. I offer a patient, gentle and fun approach and love teaching all ages from little ones to grown ups!
