I have been a student with Kimberly for ten years. I have been taking blues guitar lessons from her weekly. Kim is extremely professional. She tailors her teaching to the students interest and playing style. She is very patient and often goes the extra mile to help students progress. I have been a dedicated student because of this. I have had the pleasure of playing guitar with some of her other students in ensemble classes who all give her praise for the way she conducts business and teaches her classes. I highly recommend Kimberly Allison of Starliner music to anyone wishing to develop their skills in music.
I took drum lessons with Damien from the end of junior high school until the summer before I left for college and loved every minute of it! Damien's passion for music is contagious and his enthusiasm in our lessons encouraged me to explore music in a way that I had not expected. By incorporating my personal musical likes into his teaching style he created a comfortable atmosphere where I was not limited by self doubt. I miss our lessons and highly recommend him as a musical instructor.
Frank is a great teacher. I have progressed in my drum skills since working with him.
Nolan is a consummate professional, both with his drumming skills and his demeanor. He is able to be firm enough with my 10 year old son (who thinks life revolves around video games), yet never overbearing. This is perfect for a kid with a short attention span! I appreciate the way he challenges my son and encourages him at the same time. I have been a life long musicians playing guitar and singing for over 25 years, and with all the drummers I know, if I was going to take drum lessons I would want to take them from Nolan!
Ken is an excellent teacher. He taught my son, JT, guitar lessons for about 3 years. Ken is very patient and motivational, which was very necessary as my son was quite young at the time, . He has an incredible way of connecting with his students.. Ken was able to make the lesson fun for my son and focused on the kind of music JT liked to play. I would recommend Ken to anyone wanting to learn how to play the guitar!
My son started formal drum lessons with Steve two and a half years ago. Steve set the bar on professionalism, flexibility, communication, and has the patience to teach music to younger kids. My son went from a kid banging on a toy drum, to a musician that could play drum set rhythms in an elementary school jazz band. We've had other instructors since Steve left the Los Alamitos area but none of them compared to his high level of attributes listed earlier.
Efrain was my guitar teacher for a couple of months and was really helpful. He was usually on time and was really patient when I was having trouble with some chords. He also taught my brother the drums and was pretty enthusiastic and focused.
As a guitar player I wanted to learn how to play drums and Steve provided an excellent intro to understanding the very basic beats, and did a great job building on those beats. He teaches in a clear, interesting way, making complex rhythms seem simple. I highly recommend him to a beginner or advance student. And he's a hell of a drummer too!
Chase is an amazing music teacher. He is so well versed in many instruments which allows the lesson and growth of the student to blossom. He is a full circle educator. High recommended! I love to hear my son play his drums!
Lucas has given guitar lessons to our son (now age 9) for a few years & added drums about 8 months ago. His progression has been amazing. Lucas has been both professional & flexible...perfect for our busy multi-kid schedule. Our son really enjoyed having him as a teacher!!!
Michael is an excellent teacher and knows about many percussion instruments, not just drums. He makes learning fun and engaging. He's also very patient with kids.
I have been drumming since junior high and been playing all styles. I am, currently, seeking students to teach basic drum beats as well as stage performance. I've played in the Hollywood scene in the 80s and specialized in showmanship and performance. My availability is flexible, and will have to come to you for lessons My rate is $30 an hour I currently play for Chasom Rad band . You can google us to check out performances
I have a lot of experience with many levels and abilities of playing, and have taught free lance and with multiple programs.
With over 10 years of teaching experience and over 15 years of performance experience, I will help you get your drumming to the next level -- whether it's drum set, marching percussion or Latin percussion. I will help you not only become a better "drummer" but an overall better musician. I can also help you with music notation because I strongly believe it's a must for any musician.
Before learning from private teachers and attending music college, I was self taught. I have a good perspective on how to communicate with those who are beginners. I take pride in my own creative ways of teaching.
My goal is to enable the students to express their musical ideas on the instrument beyond the impediments of technical limitations. A lot of drummers sadly have to depend on preconceived licks and patterns in order to produce a decent performance. To solve this problem I have created concepts and use famous books/exercises that explore all the possible combinations that could come up in an improvisational or sight-reading context. While the students go through my method, they find out that the gap between thinking something musical and executing it on the instrument will gradually get smaller until eventually disappearing completely. At that point, the student will be able to pretty much express anything he thinks about or hears in the moment on the drum kit.
-I teach a variety of styles including Latin, Jazz, pop and rock, and percussion(such as timpani, mallets, snare, etc....) -I teach with the philosophy of following the path of the student vs. the student following the path of the instructor
I personalize my lesson plans around the individual. This helps the musician stand out when entering a situation where they would be playing with others..
I am a drum and drum set instructor living in San Clemente. I give beginner to advanced-level drum and drum set lessons to anyone with a thirst for such knowledge in the southern Orange County area. I have performed a drum set in many different settings, including marching bands (snare, bass drums, tenor drums, and cymbals) rock acts, jazz, pop/cover acts, etc. I have been playing in a professional setting for 7 years. I have been playing drums and the drum set for 15 years and counting, and I'm loving every minute of it. I pride myself on giving my students a highly personal experience. I intend to lead any prospective student on a path, where they can take the fundamentals of drumming (rudiments and musicality) and use that to analyze the work of other drummers through listening and/or transcribing, and then take that experience and apply it creatively to any setting.
