My 9 year old son started taking piano lessons about 4 months ago for the first time with Michelle. He was a beginner and was hesitant to start lessons not knowing what to expect from them, but he has come to love them! Michelle has been great encouraging him and at times pushing him to do his best when he gets a little lazy. She has been able to recognize his strengths and weaknesses in the short time we have been with her, which I think is a sign of a good teacher. Michelle is professional and tries to be as accommodating as she can with rearranging lesson times when we need it.
Mr. David Thorp has been giving my 10yr old son viola lessons for almost a year now, and in that time I have seen my son's confidence in playing in front of people boost. Mr. Thorp is great with kids! He is patient, encouraging and at the sometime makes lessons challenging and fun.
Ronit is amazing! My daughter and I have been to a few lessons already and we're confident that she'll have us playing great soon!!
My daughter came to Carol for violin lessons when we moved from a school district that offered strings to one that didn't. My goal for my daughter was to keep playing and learn to love playing as a lifelong practice. Carol has not only developed my daughter's commitment and love for the violin, she has helped her develop her skills beyond my hopes and expectations. I appreciate Carol's masterful teaching, passion, and hard work ethic. I also appreciate her ties to the music community and the opportunities she creates for her students to perform at events and to work toward certifications in performance and music theory. And I truly appreciate the affordability that Carol offers to us parents! Carol has been a great find for us.
I started taking violin lessons on January 2017 from Linda Keen and I've been having a blast. She explains everything about the violin, from holding the bow and instrument, to playing it. She has so much patience and understanding on how everyone learns differently. The atmosphere is so comfortable, which helps me to relax and concentrate on my playing. To really add enjoyment to my lesson, she has played along with me, which gives me a sense of accomplishment. She encourages me to take a song and make it mine. That helps to stretch my accomplishments, which is really fun and challenging. With all of this said, Linda is also a professional violinist, which helps to keep her chops up by playing in a local string band. Anyone that wishes to learn violin, I encourage you to take lessons from Linda. She's the best!
I completely recommend Amy as an violin teacher. She is an excellent teacher, is very patient, explains things very well and finds the way around to makes sure the student understands. Especially in my case that I am an adult that haven't had any music instruction since elementary school. She always provides helping tools such as websites and great exercises. You can definitely tell that she really loves teaching violin lessons!
My 10 year old daughter had been taking violin lessons with another teacher for about 6 months before we thought to try another teacher. Nothing was wrong in particular, but I thought that maybe a different teacher would be worth a try. I liked that Erik's first lesson was free, so I tried him first. In the first 15 minutes of them working together, the difference was as plain as day. The first thing Erik did was disassemble her technique and rebuild it in an intuitive and logical fashion. He was able to explain it to her in a way that was not only easy to understand, but also humorous and lighthearted. Despite this, when my daughter would get distracted, Erik was able to quickly bring her back into a state of focus without being harsh or commanding. My daughter visibly enjoyed her lesson and I was happy to know that her technique would be led in the right direction from now on, without it feeling strict or boring. I wish we would have found Erik sooner!
Merilee is awesome to work with...Such an inspiration to my child--taking his first music lessons. He asks, "When is my next lesson?" Teacher Merilee advises music books, how to rent your violin and shows you step by step how best to help your child! Super Teacher!
Rima gives my daughter extra-special attention and has a very kind and patient manner with her. My daughter can't wait for her violin lessons and is progressing wonderfully due to Rima's attentiveness.
I've been taking lessons from Liz for over 7 years now. She knows what vocal exercises I need for developing particular skills such as placement and vowel pronunciation. Her constructive feedback is always given with ways to improve. Liz is happy to work with me on song selections that suit my voice and push me outside of my comfort zone, from classical to modern tunes. When Iâve seen Liz perform live, it reinforces the vocal techniques learned from her instruction. She has a singing ability that I can only hope to aspire to. If you've been thinking of taking voice lessons, I highly recommend Liz.
Skarli is an amazing, attentive and creative teacher. My daughter enjoys her violin lessons. Music choices have been fun and engaging.
I offer violin and voice lessons for all ages and abilities. This is not cookie-cutter teaching. You receive custom lessons tailored to your needs, goals and abilities from someone who is passionate, skilled and educated, and has over a decade of experience.
I provide child music lessons like violin, guitar and piano. My classes are available online, over the phone or at their home.
I believe it's important for music lessons to be fun. I also believe in laying a firm foundation of technique to avoid injuries and problems later on. Often, teachers can come across too demanding, or they have so much fun in a lesson that the student continues their interest in music without developing the necessary skills to play what they'd like. My experiences have gotten me to the point where I believe I've found an excellent balance.
I teach violin and viola. I have many years of experience in both playing and teaching. Please contact me for more information.
