David is a great teacher who isn't doing this for the money but to teach the art of music. He has stayed at my house twice as long as what I payed for and added no extra charge. He also gives a wide range of ways to relate his teachings. (IE. I take bass lessons but we commonly go to the piano to practice and drill) all in all David is a great teacher and highly recommended. Definite 5 stars.

Hafdis is both gifted as a patient teacher and talented with musicality. My middle school-aged daughter and I took flute lessons from Hafdis for many years. Her enthusiasm and encouragement elevated us to perform many times for church worship services. She is an accomplished musician and well worth the investment. Written by Rancho Palos Verdes Mom

Emily is great. She is punctual and a great teacher. My son is a very beginner with no experience in playing any instruments whatsoever, however he enjoys learning and has learned quite a bit already in just a couple of sessions.

Nora is the best music teacher I've ever had. I took jazz flute lessons from her. She is highly professional with a sensitivity toward her students and their ability. I found her responsive to my learning needs and her lesson prices were very reasonable. Most of all, I had so much fun and found my lessons inspiring as I made progress. Nora always instilled a sense of self-confidence and encouragement --- this was very important. The practice assignments were manageable and I liked the consistency with the sheet music. Finally, her own music education credentials from the East Coast are top notch and unusual to find in the Sierra Foothills.

About

My students and parents say I run a tight ship. I am fun and easy going. I nurture discipline, accountability, integrity and creativity. I give them permission to be their authentic musical self. I also teach my students how to perform.

About

With 40 years teaching and playing experience, I know how to listen to each individual person, adjusting to your way of learning and your strengths. Lots of positive reinforcement helps too. I also am an experienced, certified Alexander Technique teacher which helps me spot when a flutist is working against herself/himself. It's hard to learn when we have tension and habits that contract our neck and spine. I incorporate this deep understanding into my flute lessons, and people learn faster and more easily when they are not fighting tension while playing. My office is in downtown Grass Valley on South Auburn Street.
