Mike was a true professional and did a great job on my kitchen backsplash install. He went the extra mile and helped put my oven hood back on that required him to get in the attic crawl space. Thanks Mike.

All the work I needed is now done and I couldn't be more thrilled with how it all turned out. Just some comments about Andrew... His patience was SO appreciated, especially when I didn't like the first color on the walls. His perseverance to get the job done the way I wanted even when things were challenging (the paint color, the outside security lights, the ceiling fan and my sliding door). He was very personable and kind as well. He is such a hard worker, easy to communicate and enjoyable to work with! He was also very professional and respectful. Since I am single and some of the work was being done in my bedroom, I always felt safe! That was huge for me! It can be a little unnerving to have a male stranger come into your home and spend several hours. But with Andrew, there were no worries at all and I have told my friends about him. Thank you so much! I will keep him in mind for next time, most certainly! He is a keeper. Now that everything is put back, clean and organized. It looks wonderful and I couldn't be more happy with the end result!

Over the past several months, I have had the pleasure of working with Mr. Felix on several projects. Mr. Felix is very knowledgeable in all aspects of remodeling. Mr. Felix is realiable and works with the customer to obtain the best result for most reasonable price. Mr. Felix insures that everythig is just the way the customer wants every step of the way. He follows through with what he is suppose to do and does a great job of cleaning up at the end of each day. Mr. Felix has done tile work in a bathroom and fireplace. Both projects have turned out beautifully. He has also replaced a floor with laminate, looks fantastic. Mr. Felix has also done painting, electrical and plumming work. Mr. Felix is a very talented guy, who takes a lot of pride in his work. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I recently purchased a home and had numerous remodeling projects. Osbaldo repainted the interior of my house, installed crown molding, installed new bedroom doors, remodeled the bathroom, converted my dryer hookup to gas, remodeled my closets and installed granite and back-splash in the kitchen. Osbaldo is a good, trustworthy person. He is a hard worker and takes the time to make sure the job is done right. He really has a good eye for what looks nice in a home and had great remodeling suggestions. Plus, his prices are very fair. I will definitely be using him again for any more work I need on the house!

1 review 6/11/2017 Professional, efficient, and affordable. They also have an ingenious billing system that allowed me to control expenses and monitor day to day activities. This was critical to me as I live four hours from the project site and could not check work in person. I received daily reports on status and costs. Buying blocks of time, and paying for materials in real time, keeps the project costs from getting out of hand. My project consisted of 1. removing dry rot from leaking French doors in second floor bedroom and on balcony, 2. replacing subflooring and balcony deck, 3. removing and replacing replacing a wooden gate, 4. removing and replacing garage side door, 5. painting deck, gate, and interior molding, 6. removing French doors, and 7. hauling away debris. I will definitely hire Spectrum again!

Jeff redid the tile in my master bedroom, installed a new tub and fixtures and put tile on the face of the tub. The only thing I wish was different is the width of the "decorative" tile strip. I would have wanted it wider and would have told Jeff if he had asked. Overall, I am extremely happy with the work.

Nick and his crew completely renovated our kitchen, living room, and dining room, including working with an architect to determine how to properly support the new design. We love the new look and layout! He also converted one of our bedrooms into a master bedroom closet, enlarged our master bedroom and updated our hallway with cabinetry that greatly increased our storage. He and his guys were great to work with, always there when they said they would be, and very focused on our satisfaction with the results.

Mark is absolutely amazing! I wish all contractors could be like him. He is professional, friendly, very courteous, and his work is beautiful. I hired him to make custom cabinets for the bathrooms and he walked me through each step to customize my design. When he was unable to find a matching color for the countertop, he contacted a company he works with so I could look through pieces of granite and find a match. He installed the cabinets this weekend and the workmanship is beautiful. Solid wood, matching stain, and soft closing drawers. The price is on point as well. I would venture to guess that something of this size would be about the same price at Ikea, or some other cheap furniture place that uses particle board and laminate. I will be using Mark for all my custom woodwork needs - and there will be plenty.

This project was to remove the cooktop and wall oven from our 30 year old house and install a range, refrigerator and range hood. This entailed reversing the fridge and range positions, building new custom cabinets, moving power, water connections, adding power for the range hood. It was difficult to find companies who would even propose for the job. Scott saw the full job more clearly than the other estimators and, amazingly, possessed all the skills to do the various tasks. His proposal was clear and explicit. He was competent, quick and thorough. He communicated well and was considerate of our time. The remodeled kitchen now gives us more food prep area and looks great. We have added drawers where we had false drawer fronts before. We found Scott through this site we'd never heard of before and are glad we did.

I hired Blaer initally last June and since then he has completed several major projects. I recommend him highly to perform anything and everything connected to General Contracting. Blaer is professional, polite, friendly, with excellent communication skills, from his highly detailed proposals to informing me of any changes to schedules. Texts, emails and phone calls are dealt with in a timely manner. Blaer offers his opinion when one has an idea but isn't sure if it can be accomplished. He has changed a bedroom into a beautiful laundry room, transformed my living/dining room and removing poorly installed tile and re tiling my kitchen. This is just to name a few of his excellent skills. As a woman it's important to feel completely at ease when work is being done in your home. All of the personnel connected to Dynamic Construction have made me feel this way. Thank you Blaer.

Beautiful work, on time, great pricing. This guy knows his stuff! He built a corner of cabinetry to match our vintage kitchen, and I will go back to him for more when we are ready to continue re-arranging our cabinetry. He keeps up with the new trends, but knows the old-school craft, too.

As part of a bedroom remodel, I had decided to trade in a "1980's Oak" bedroom set for something more to my taste, but didn't want to buy new furniture. I was browsing on Craigslist and was inspired by a unique and creative dresser that Danielle had refinished. To make a long story short, I asked if she would refinish my whole bedroom set and we traded notes and pics for awhile. When I delivered the furniture, I knew I had made a good decision because Danielle was clearly inspired and passionate about the project. She is an artist at heart! I thought this might take weeks to complete but she turned it around in about 2 weeks and she checked in with me during the process to make sure she and I were on the same page for the new look. I absolutely love my new bedroom set and so do all that have seen it. I am so glad that I kept the furniture and let Danielle work her magic to transform it into pieces that I plan on keeping for years to come. It is unique and custom and it cost a fraction of what I would have spent on new furniture. Danielle showed me a few of her designs when I dropped off the furniture and it is clear that she has a rare combination of artistic talent, inventiveness, and mechanical aptitude.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

      Do you tip cabinet installers?

In general, home service providers such as electricians, plumbers and contractors are professionals who don’t expect tips. They expect to do a job for you for the specific price they quoted. Of course, they may appreciate a tip for a job particularly well done or for which they’ve gone beyond what’s normally expected, such as completing the project early or under budget. Even better than a tip, it’s always appropriate to leave a positive review online after a good experience.

      How much is custom cabinetry?

Custom cabinets can be built for any room, including bedroom closets and built-in armoires. Measured carefully and built precisely, custom cabinetry can increase storage and beautify any room. The national average for building custom cabinets ranges from $500 to $1,200 per linear foot. The cost is highly variable because there are so many styles, colors, glazes and other options. In general, the linear footage of the cabinets, the materials used to build them, and the cost of the labor will determine the cost. Solid wood costs more than plywood and wood veneer, and costs vary among different types of wood; maple and cherry cabinets are more expensive than pine. Glass-front cabinets can cost more, as can decorative hinges, handles and door pulls, which can cost $2-$45 each; choose carefully to stay within your budget and pull off the exact look you’re going for. Some carpenters also charge for installation, on average $100 per cabinet box. Additional molding and trim, such as crown molding at the ceiling, cost an average of $70 per 8-foot section, and adding finished ends to exposed cabinets averages $100-$200.

How much does it cost to have kitchen cabinets installed?

In any kitchen, the cabinets are the main focus, so you want to make sure new or replacement cabinets are installed correctly. A professional carpenter can properly, securely mount new cabinets to the wall; the national average cost for this service is $7,725, although the cost varies widely depending on the type of cabinets, their material and their size, and the accessories you add. A typical fee is $70 per linear foot to remove existing cabinets and assemble and install new ones; the cost is less if you do the demolition and removal yourself. Stock cabinets are the least expensive to have installed, ranging from $75 to $400 each; semi-custom cabinets range from $150 to $900 each; and custom cabinets cost from $500 to $1,400 each. Wood cabinets are more expensive than those made from plywood or medium-density fiberboard (MDF) and finished with a laminate. Wood cabinets range in cost from $80 to $160 per linear foot. Laminate-finished cabinets cost $35 to $75 per linear foot, on average.
