Love my new hvac and water heater but was TOTALLY disappointed with the mess the installers/workers left me to clean up! After explaining to Jeff all the mess they left, he promised me that he would take care of it on the back and I am still waiting on what that meant. So make sure if you hire from this company They clean up their mess.

Mr. Khan understood the problem and fixed my water heater. He didn't directly change the parts like other and his charges are very reasonable.

What can I say, he showed up he told how much it was, and he even charged me what he said from the beginning. After all was said and done I couldn't even tell if he did any work(aside of the new water heater). He left no mess. A strait forward no B.S. kinda guy. I'd definitely call him again. He just gets stuff done compared to the other companies that just beat around the Bush with prices.

Mr. Oseguera came in, diagnosed problem(s), provided feasible and affordable solutions for our heating problem. Heater wasn't firing correctly. He replaced all parts necessary and explained each step in the process. I know more about my heat/ac system now than I did before. He's honest and spoke in laymen's terms. Made me comfortable with the services he provided because he wasn't here to "sell" us anything but to give us solutions directly associated with our issues. Highly recommended.

Kevin is one helluva guy to have your work done by. He's a very busy man, and sometimes our time schedules conflicted, but in the end, when all was said and done, the work done was quality, the guy wasn't blowing smoke up your arse, and a plus is his talents, skills, and experience which cannot be surpassed by most of the "run of the mill" servicemen. Kevin is a general contractor and his abilities speak for themselves, making sure safety is primary, the work is done to code, and the rate is reasonable considering his expertise and experience. We highly recommend Kevin for any work you might need in and around your home. He provided the replacement of our water heater, diagnosed the issue with our faucet fixture in the kitchen and recommended replacement, of which we heeded. We are extremely satisfied with Kevin's work, knowledge and expertise. After all, he has been in this business for 25 years. Thank you, Kevin...you are a lifesaver!!! And, an added plus, is he's a dog man and our dogs loved him!

Mike came over and fixed my grandmother's wall heater the same day I posted on thumbtack. He made time for us, and did the work fast and for a reasonable price. My grandmother truly appreciates his hard work and willingness to come help her at such short notice during the cold winter nights. Thanks Mike. (I would have given him a five star rating but there was no receipt or paper work associated with the work he did, and we're a family that likes to keep records and have proof of service. Other than that he was great.)

When you go from a swamp cooler and gas wall heaters to a professionally installed HVAC system, you'll think you're truly in heaven. Advanced Comfort Air Solutions was recommended to me, and I simply can't say enough to show my appreciation. Jeff Jury and his crew are efficient, fast, very knowledgeable and produce excellent results. They worked through some of the hottest summer days in my attic, outside, and indoors. You knew they were there, but they just worked their magic as quietly and quickly as possible. What Jeff did to remove my roof top swamp cooler (with a crane) and take it away along with the wall heaters was just part if it. Jeff went above and beyond to ensure that the roof was patched, and the floors and walls were repaired where the wall heaters had been. From the beginning, I knew I was working with professionals. Jeff worked with me to find the best pricing and system for my home. I loved my heater this winter, and I'm already loving my air. I feel so lucky that Jeff was referred to me, and I have the most comfortable home now.

My air conditioning just happened to be on its last legs of course it acted up when I was having company from out of town . We had several Hvac companies out to give us a quotesit was stressful and confusing with most companies saying I need a new system but not looking at the old system .Brian and his crew looked at the old air conditioner and heater and gave me the option to fix or get a new system, Brian was genuine and honest and we decided to get a new system, which was promptly installed, we are very happy with our new system and the fantastic service provided by Brian and crew!

My family came home from visiting family on Thanksgiving to find out heater stopped working. I called Elite Heating and Ryan came out the next day (a holiday for many) and fixed it quickly. The price he charged was well below what I was expecting to pay and the heater has worked perfectly. He even checked out other things on our system and tuned them up. Top quality work, fast service response, and unbeatable service.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    Who fixes furnaces?

If your furnace needs to be repaired, you’ll want to find a qualified heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) repair technician. Each state has its own licensing requirements; some require all HVAC technicians to have an HVAC license, while others only require someone operating an HVAC service and installation company with employees to hold a contractor’s license. For example, in Alabama, the Alabama Board of Heating Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Contractors regulates licensing, while in Kansas there is no state regulatory body and HVAC licensing can vary by region. For simple furnace repairs like changing out a filter, a trusted handyman can probably handle the job, but a trained professional should be hired for tasks like replacing a gas valve, installing a new inducer fan motor or other critical furnace repair jobs that involve dealing with gas leaks or other dangerous conditions. For more, check out our tips for smart hiring on Thumbtack.

How much will it cost me to replace my furnace?

The national average for furnace replacement is between $1,800 and $2,500. The cost can range dramatically higher depending on the model of furnace you select, any repair work you require, your location and the cost of installation. Furnace installation costs can be more than the furnace itself due to the cost of doing business and the expertise needed to install the HVAC equipment. Installing a new furnace generally requires technical know-how and the proper tools and licensing. It’s best to hire a pro and budget for furnace installation rather than risk potentially unsafe DIY installation. This will ensure your home’s safety. Check to see if your HVAC contractor has the proper licensing to do the job. If you need duct repair or replacement, expect to pay more for your furnace installation costs. The price for duct repair could be an hourly rate ranging on average anywhere from $85 to $150 per hour, with additional costs for parts.

How much does it cost to replace a gas furnace?

The cost to replace your gas furnace will vary based on the type and size of furnace you select, labor and installation costs, and any repairs your HVAC system may need. Nationally, average HVAC prices for a heating specialist range between $1,800 and $2,500. It’s important to select the right size gas furnace for your heating needs. A furnace that’s too small won’t heat your house properly, while a furnace that’s too large will run inefficiently, cycling on and off and likely breaking down sooner. HVAC specialists calculate your exact heat needs by measuring your home and incorporating variables such as the regional climate and your home’s level of insulation. Retail pricing for gas furnaces can range from $650 up to $3,000 and more. The higher the AFUE (annual fuel utilization efficiency) rating of the furnace, the more efficient it is at turning fuel into heat and the lower your carbon footprint and utility bill will be. HVAC installation costs are often based on an hourly rate and can range from under $50 to over $100 per hour, depending on the company and the furnace being installed. Higher-end furnaces cost more to install because they require added labor and expertise. For a typical installation, it might take two HVAC installation pros one day or less to remove your old furnace and replace it with a new one.

How much does it cost to have your furnace cleaned?

To keep your furnace in good working order it’s important to have it regularly cleaned. The national average furnace cleaning cost ranges from $60 to $80, though prices can vary greatly based on where you live in the country and what your furnace maintenance includes. An HVAC company may have different rates for different levels of furnace maintenance. For example, one company may offer general furnace maintenance for $79 and advanced maintenance for $138. Another company may offer a 38-point maintenance check for $89 and a 64-point maintenance check for $178. According to Energy.gov, a standard furnace cleaning and maintenance visit can include:

    • Checking the vent connection pipe and chimney
    • Checking the physical integrity of the heat exchanger
    • Adjusting the controls to provide optimum air temperatures
    • Checking the combustion chamber for cracks
    • Testing for carbon monoxide (CO)
    • Adjusting the blower control and supply-air temperature
    • Cleaning and oiling the blower
    • Removing soot and corrosion from the furnace
    • Checking the fuel input and flame characteristics
    • Sealing the connections between the furnace and the main ducts

How much will it cost me to replace my air conditioner?

If your AC system is in need of replacement, the national average air conditioner installation costs range from $2,930 to $3,670. Costs can vary greatly depending on whether you are replacing a wall or window unit or a central air system. A central air system is connected to ductwork that runs throughout your house and pumps cooled air into your various rooms via vents and registers. A central air conditioning system is far more costly than wall or window units. Selecting a central AC system that has a high seasonal energy-efficiency ratio (SEER) will likely lower both your carbon footprint and your utility bill. The type of AC system you select, where you live in the country, and the regional costs of HVAC work, duct removal and replacement, and ductwork repairs that are needed are some of the main factors that affect the cost of new air conditioner installation. Here are some examples of average costs for installing forced-air systems.

    • Install Lennox 16 SEER single-stage AC unit: $5,743
      • Removing and disposing of the old furnace, moving and reconnecting the water heater, and installing a 3.5-ton gas furnace. The job took 18 hours of labor.
    • Installation of a new 14 SEER single-range cooling system: $4,000-$6,000
    • Installation of a new 16 SEER two-range cooling system: $6,000-$8,000
    • Installation of a new 20 SEER variable capacity cooling system: $8,000-$12,000
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
