David is a great teacher who isn't doing this for the money but to teach the art of music. He has stayed at my house twice as long as what I payed for and added no extra charge. He also gives a wide range of ways to relate his teachings. (IE. I take bass lessons but we commonly go to the piano to practice and drill) all in all David is a great teacher and highly recommended. Definite 5 stars.

Our son has been going to Gaving and Grayson at UpRock for over a year now and loves it plus is making great progress. This is all due to the great instruction and how the staff relate to younger students and they make it both fun and interesting personalizing the songs to the kids tastes and generally demonstrating a passion for their role as instructors. I am very impressed and would have no hesitation in recommending UpRock for your guitar lessons.

Guitar lessons in Roseville California. My instructor was ready, on time, prepared, and clearly knew what he was talking about. Their prices are reasonable, and their studio is clean and well maintained. I think they are a good place to learn guitar.

I highly recommend Bob as a music teacher for beginners, folks who play for enjoyment and professional musicians. He enhances the student's experience by focusing on the music student wants to learn. At the same time he intertwines ear-training and music theory with technique. Bob is a great guitar and music teacher. He was my first guitar teacher. In later years mentored me on how to teach music.

It has always been a musical learning experience beyond the notes on the page for me working with Bob. His knowledge of the history of both the instrument and the music, enriches the learning experience. Bob gives more than just quality music lessons. He shares his in depth knowledge and experience earned over a lifetime of playing and teaching in every lesson.

Bob is the best guitar teacher I have ever met. He's positive oriented, energetic, enthusiastic, student centered, patient, motivating, and a great musician in his own right. Whether you're a beginner or a professional, you will learn quickly and enjoyably from this teacher.

Chris Lee has been teaching my 11 year old son since May 2011. He’s been instructing my son in the following areas: • Electric guitar, • Bass guitar, • Harmonica, and • Reading/writing music. Chris is very patient and keeps my son motivated. The lessons are exciting which keeps my son interested and yearning to learn more. This helps in my son practicing without it being a chore. Chris encourages his students to write their own music using the computer and lined note sheets. He also gives my son confidence in his musical aspirations. I feel that Chris’ methods of instruction have helped my son excel in the musical area. My son is ready to begin taking a Jr. College level Music Theory class because of Chris’ instruction.

I started playing violin about a year and a half ago, learning out of a “How to Play Irish Fiddle” book. Back in July, I found an ad for a violin teacher that taught bluegrass, and Celtic styles of fiddling as well as classical violin, needless to say, I was quite excited. When I first started the lessons, I had many bad habits, from "Pizza handing" the neck of the violin, to bad bow strokes, and Jerry Pajel broke them very well. I’ve learned a ton from him, and my skill with the violin has increased tremendously, over a short period of time. He’s very dedicated to the violin, and is amazingly talented. When he teaches, he makes sure that you actually understand what he’s teaching you, and does it in a fun way. Jerry is quite flexible in teaching, I told him I was interested in fiddle music, and so he chose some Celtic, and some bluegrass songs that had different techniques prevalent in the pieces, we went through them, and I learned slides, flicks, and grace notes that way. I live about an hour away from Stockton, and it was definitely worth the drive there to learn from him. It has truly been a blessing to take fiddle instruction from this man.

Jerry Pajel (Mr. J) is a passionate violin teacher. I have been taking violin lessons for one year now, and I must say that I learned so much in my first month of lessons. While teaching, he communicates effectively and makes learning the violin easy!

Phenomenal guitar player, luthier and human being. Whether guitar repair, guitar lessons, or just conversation, any and all interactions with Kenny are definitely worth my time. He's repaired and/or upgraded a few of my guitars, which I'm VERY happy with, given me private lessons, invaluable to be sure, and has spent a lot of time collectively just hanging out after lessons when time allows. I just wish I had the time to take lessons at the moment and the money to commission a custom built guitar from him. Kenny is truely a talent in his trade and a someone worth knowing professionally and personally.

Kenneth is an amazing guitarist and knowledgeable instructor. I would still be taking lessons from him, but my work life is so demanding that I just could not make his classes. I not only consider him to be a fantastic instructor, but also a great friend. He truly puts his heart into teaching each person at their own pace and abilities. Just as soon as my life settles down, I will be back with him. I loved learning from him. If you want to really learn the guitar, talk to Kenneth. You will not be sorry! Good luck, and happy playing!

Super excited for what is to come with Kenneth! Btw, he is very generous with himself and can leave you forgetting how long you've been there!

Just stopped by to say thank you for the awesome job you did at our recent anniversary party celebration. Our friends are still talking about how much fun they had and how they didn't believe they had ever had that much fun dancing a night away (we couldn't agree more)! From your willingness to locate our (impossibly hard to find) special song to breaking out the guitar at the most appropriate of moments - wow, what a night it was! We really weren't sure it was worth it to hire a DJ - we now know better. Thanks again!

Kevin is a great teacher. He's incredibly patient and encouraging, and explains things in a way that's easy to follow even as a novice. He never makes me feel inadequate or makes me doubt my abilities. His musical talents also go beyond playing and teaching guitar- he can play other instruments as well, knows all about recording, and has a vast knowledge about music in general.

Hello! My name is Jesse Szabo, and I've been playing guitar for almost 10 years and professionally for 3 years. Whether it's theory, note reading, soloing, or just want to have fun learning your favorite song, we can do that. I'm excited to meet you and start learning! If you are learning on an electric guitar, all I ask is that you have some kind of amplifier at your residence because I cannot bring an extra. Other than that, I will determine what materials we need.

I've been playing the guitar for about 8 months and ready to make the jump to taking lessons. I have broad tastes in music but would really like to focus on capturing the early grunge sound along the lines of Alice in Chains as well as developing my fingerpicking/ hybrid picking ala some of Eddie Vedder's and John Frusciante's solo stuff. Basically, trying to help me develop some skills that will allow me to get out and play. I'm looking for an instructor with alot of experience in both playing live and teaching, someone organized who has lessons and curriculum planned ahead of time, rather than just winging it, and someone who is located in SF. If someone thinks he/she fits the bill... Please keep in touch with some info on self, teaching style, and rates. I'm ready to start asap.
