I am a Civil Engineering graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India. IIT Kanpur is one of the best tech schools of India with an acceptance rate less than that of Stanford or Harvard. I am a global tutor. I cover regular, honors, AP, and IB level courses. I have been a full-time tutor for more than 25 years now. Over this period, I have touched the lives of thousands of students. My students are spread over the USA, Canada, some Middle Eastern countries like Saudi Arabia, and UAE, Europe, and India. They range from six-year-old to sixty-year-old. Some of them are very smart. They come to me to ensure that they do not miss even a single point on SAT1 (Math) and ACT (Math and Science). Some are struggling not to repeat a class and a few face challenges like Autism, ADHD or Dyslexia and hence need special attention. The rest are average students trying to improve their performance. If you are a school, college or university student I can help you improve your grades and also your scores in standardized tests like SAT, ACT, GMAT or GRE. I diagnose a student's deficient areas quickly and focus most of my time and effort improving those areas. Academic excellence has two components. Your learning should be perfect and also you have to do well in exams. To learn a subject you have to master the basics of the subject. To do well in exams, the learning must be exam oriented. Besides you need to have a good practice of questions likely to be asked in the exam. I take care of all these. All you need to do is to follow my instructions. I tutor many subjects. They are mathematics (pre-algebra, algebra, trigonometry, geometry, pre-calculus, calculus, differential equations etc), physics, chemistry, statistics, computer programming using C, C++, python, java, game development and animation using scratch, engineering mechanics (statics and dynamics), strength of materials, structural analysis, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, electrical network analysis, discrete-time systems and signals, digital logic and simulation of logic design using VHDL and robot vision. I always look at a student's problems from his or her perspective. My students are my best friends. I understand the worries and anxieties of the parents. I give them feedback on a continuous basis. I hold myself to an exacting standard. I never charge for a session unless the student is 100% satisfied with it. I have 24 hours cancellation policy. Rescheduling of classes is allowable under compelling conditions. I do not mind traveling to another place if that is more convenient for the student. Tutoring is my passion. I can't get a good night's sleep without it. My success mantra is simple. Sit with me. Get your concepts clear. Work smarter not necessarily harder.
Archie has been tutoring me in college level algebra since March. He is extremely knowledgeable in math and has extensive teaching experience. He can explain the more difficult concepts very clearly. I tend to get frustrated easily and Archie is always very patient and encouraging. He tells me, "yes you CAN!" when I think I can't. He is punctual and always has a smile on his face. He has helped me gain the confidence I need to be successful in math classes. I highly recommend him.
Working with Mr Hua was very helpful! He replied promptly to my daughter's emails and sent her extra material in order to truly stamp in the subject they were working on. Her grade improved and he's very knowledgeable in science.
Outstanding tutor. We couldn't be happier. Our daughter's weakest subject has generally been math. In the 9th grade, she was struggling with Algebra 2 ("C" during 1st semester). After Rebecca tutored her, she finished with an A- her first semester, and has had A- ever since (Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus). Rebecca is very personable, and connected well with our daughter. Rebecca is prompt and organized -- she does not waste your time. You cannot find a better math tutor.
With years of experience working with children of all different ages and backgrounds, I am able to build a strong rapport and connection. This is key to learning as it creates a foundation for a positive and supportive learning environment. I get goose bumps when the light bulb goes on for a child who struggles to learn. I also love to help kids discover what their true passions are in life. If found early on, it can initiate the journey towards reaching their true potential.
We worked with Kat for our daughters both on math skills as well as English skills. She is nothing short of outstanding. She understands the learning process, and she understands kids. The results were clear and successful. We now have successful (honor roll) and independent students, thanks to the foundation that Kat lay for them. I recommend her without hesitation, and send her our many thanks.
I have my AA in mathematics, and I am currently attending Sacramento State University to complete my mathematics degree and teacher preparation. I enjoy tutoring students in mathematics as it gives me the opportunity to get experience as a teacher, and I truly love the feeling I get when a student finally understands what has been so difficult to understand, and they get that "I finally get it," look. I can tutor pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, Algebra II, trigonometry and pre-calculus as well as basic statistics. I can also tutor those in need of help for the mathematics portions of testing, like the SAT, the ACT, CBEST, etc. I am available at any time you may be in some need of a tutor, and I do not charge extra for e-mails or any material I may help with outside of the tutoring lessons. I can teach the same concept in different ways, depending on an individuals learning style so as to promote understanding. If you are interested in tutoring in math and/or other subjects, please contact me. I am willing to travel to you, or you can come to me, or we can meet in between -- whatever is most comfortable for you works for me. So many people I know hate math and think that they are not smart enough to understand it, but that is so incorrect. Everyone is smart enough to learn algebra and geometry as long as they are taught the correct way, and most instructors only teach it one way. I look forward to changing at least some students' minds. I service Sacramento and the surrounding areas. Tutoring costs $30/hour. E-mail me if there are any questions, please.
My daughter just started her freshman year and was struggling in Algebra. My daughter started seeing Mrs. Wong about four sessions ago and my daughterâs grade already improved by one grade. Mrs. Wong is truly amazing! She is very patient and clear in explaining concepts. In just a couple of sessions, my daughter felt confident in Algebra. I highly recommend Mrs. Wong as a tutor for all the students who live in the Sacramento area. Mrs. Wong is not only very clear in teaching Algebra, she is fun too! Mrs. Wong is a blessing!

I've been a professional math tutor for over 30 years. In that time I've helped hundreds of students, from 4th graders to college postgraduates, in areas ranging from the most basic math skills through algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and beyond (including statistics). I have a good track record of success in helping students achieve a better understanding of mathematics, with improved grades and test scores as a result. Many of my students have told me how much they appreciate my love for mathematics, and the enthusiasm, joy, and sense of humor I bring to my work. Some of my best high-school students have gone on to colleges including Harvard, Stanford, and UC Berkeley. References will be supplied upon request. My basic rate is $32/hr for tutoring at my home (near Sac City College). If you prefer I can travel to you, anywhere within Sacramento and nearby suburbs; the rate for that is $44/hr. (Rates quoted are subject to change, but are current as of November 2015.)
Laila is an outstanding tutor and does very well with our 6th grade daughter.
It was a pleasure to work with Ms Buller. She helped me with my pre-algebra lessons. We would meet either at her house or at a place close to both of us. She was always on time and very patient in helping me grasp some concepts I wasn't familiar with by explaining them in a straightforward, methodical way. In the 6 to 8 weeks she tutored me, my class grade went from a middle C to a high B which was my final grade. I am now eligible for Algebra I. I would recommend Ms. Buller to any struggling algebra student.

I also help students who just need someone to study with, and help them think through problems and explore other ways of simplifying and hence, solving problems.
