Started going for violin lessons (I'm in my 20's with no music background). Had only a couple of classes so far. I really like the pace and her style of teaching. She is professional and very easy to work with.
I started taking lessons from Toby in January 2017. I am an adult student that returned to piano lesson after decades. I stopped lessons at 13 y/o. Without lessons, I can read music and "play" the song. But now, with just a few months into my lessons with Toby, I can hear the difference. My songs now have the correct timing, tempo and spirit the composer intended for his songs. What a difference! My husband now recognizes the songs I play. Thanks Toby!
Though I have been singing since age 9 in lessons and onstage, working with Stephen in the past year has really launched me to the next level, and helped immensely in the pursuit of my music career. His lessons, fine ear and extensive experience help me to see beyond my limits as a singer. He is accessible and enthusiastic as a teacher, and encourages the same qualities and focus in his students. I have become more technically apt, confident, and excited about my music career thanks to Stephen Bigger.
Ivan has accompanied me and played for multiple groups that I've been a part of and each time I've had the pleasure of playing with him, there was never a moment where I questioned/doubted his professionalism, demeanor, musicianship, or knowledge of music. I have also witnessed Ivan expertly instruct countless musicians in music theory, which has in turn enhanced their musicianship. I cannot give him a stronger recommendation as a musician, an instructor, a professional, and a person!
I know Natalia for over 10 years now. I met her as a piano teacher for my older son, then she thought the middle one too. She is detailed oriented, always predictable and on time, hard working, and excellent quality of teaching. I recommend her intensely. Could not get a better piano teacher than Natalia Pressman.
Brian teaches piano, music theory, and composition to our son. Our son starting working with Brian about ten years ago at age seven and worked with him for several years until Brian went away to go to graduate school. He began working with Brian again this year. Brian has been instrumental in helping our son become a fine musician and is helping him to find his voice as a composer. Brian has a wealth of knowledge music history and music theory. He suggests pieces to listen to and has interesting stories about the composers. It has been inspiring to our son to see Brian in performance playing his own compositions. Most importantly, Brian has shared his love of music with Jimmy and it's contagious.
I had the pleasure of taking piano lessons with Mrs. DeMar for over twelve years, and it was a positive and formative experience. Mrs. DeMar is talented, patient, and kind, and she truly cares about her students. She fostered in me a love of playing the piano, as well as a solid understanding of music theory, both of which continue to this day. She has a positive and encouraging attitude, and I highly recommend her to anyone who hopes to learn to play and love playing the piano.
Patrick has taught my 10 and 7 year old for about 1 year now. They love taking lessons with him and have learned so much - especially my older son who has learned an impressive amount... he's playing pieces it took me 3 years of piano to learn. Patrick has an easy going style and is great with kids. I highly recommend him!
Mrs. Reed has been my child's piano teacher for 2 years. She is a certified music teacher and credentialed (California) teacher. Each session runs for a total of 45mins., it encompasses 15mins. of music theory which may include listening to pieces of music and 30mins. of piano practice. The class is tailored to my child's skill level and moves along at a pace that is comfortable to my child. Mrs. Reed is a professional - organized, punctual and has good communication skills. She is kind, respectful and compassionate to the children. We enjoy Mrs. Reed's classes because my child wants to learn music for the sake of music and is not in it to pass professional level tests that other schools/teachers might engage provide. Mrs. Reed has help develop a love for playing piano in my child.
My son has been taking lessons from Helena for many years now. She takes the time to figure out how keep her students interested and develop the required classical skills at the same time.
I have been taking voice lessons from heather for over two years. When I began I wasn't sure I could sing at all. Heather has helped me immensely with expanding my range, rhythm, carrying notes, style and most importantly connecting with the music emotionally. She approaches vocal coaching with kindness but has gently pushed me to be new levels I never thought I would reach. I often get complements on my voice from friends other musicians and that makes me smile. Learning to sing has been one of the most freeing experience of my life and I am so grateful to Heather for all her expertise and encouragement.
Holly has been an amazing resource for my daughter who has been a music major at UOP. She has the experience to help her in both music theory and technique. She is very easy to relate with also. We would highly recommend her!
Dr. Isaacs' lessons connect students with music in a deeper way and develops their independent thoughts and interpretation with an approach that is unique! He not only teaches music but also gives complete attention to understanding the student and their personality which makes him such an effective educator and mentor!
Excellent lessons in music theory and practice!

He'said very patient and has a unique way of teaching that is easy for a person to learn.

I think my work stands out from others because I care deeply about my students enjoying their lesson and playing their instrument. I strive to get my students to a point that they are excited and wanting to play or learn more on their own.
