It was about a year ago when I decided I needed something new in my life and considered taking up golf. I have known Christy Erb for a few years, and she had often mentioned to me that I should take golf lessons with her, give it a try, so the decision was made and I started my lessons with Christy and in truth, had no idea what I was in for
Golf, as many know (and remind me) is an unforgiving game filled with inconsistencies, unpredictable outcomes and requires a physical form that is unlike any other sport, in other words, you cant simply just walk up to the little white ball and hit it, because that doesnt work. Not like Frisbee or football, hitting that white ball with a long club can be the most frustrating act and without any means to an end.
When I began my lessons with Christy, I slowly started to realize that this was going to be the challenge of a lifetime, yet Christy has been there to guide me, patiently, where her lessons, starting from the more basic moves of the grip to progression of changes in the swing and stance, are conveyed with clarity, good humor and encouragement. I could be having the worst day with my lessons, where nothing is connecting, and Christy will find that one bright spot in an otherwise dark lesson and help me put it back into perspective. Very encouraging, supportive, just what a student needs.
