Diana F. says, "Suddenly at first spin, my washing machine (2001 Kenmore, 70 Series, Super capacity, heavy duty..) started making a horrible sound, like a chain being flung wildly around, and the spin had stopped. I contacted repair services recommended by Thumbtack...my go-to place... and ended up with Honey Appliance Repair. I now have a quiet like-new machine and a 10+ rating for Honey Appliance. That’s the short version of a longer story: I shared information I had gathered in my preliminary search for a remedy (see below) with Thumbtack and the services it recommended, as well as a couple of other companies I found on Yelp, but Honey Appliance Repair was the only service that showed respect for me and my input. They responded to emails promptly, giving estimates based on my Just Answer diagnosis and arranging a convenient appointment time. The technician, Alexi, showed up within the time range, carrying the needed part in his tool bag. He confidently proceeded exactly through the steps demonstrated in the YouTube video. Within an hour, he was demonstrating that the tub could now quietly spin. Before he left, he had already emailed the payment receipt (very reasonable). All of this was done with clear communication, courtesy and strict COVID protocol. Honey Appliance Repair is, indeed, a “honey’! *When I contacted other repair services, I got either no interest or boiler-plate responses saying they would have to come for the initial appraisal. I called one who had refused the job to ask their reason, only to be told that they don’t service washers that make noise while spinning because it was the bearings which were too expensive in time & money to fix. But I had already checked in with a ‘Just Answer’ Kenmore expert, telling him through chat (no picture/no video) the same description of the problem as I had put in my Thumbtack description, and he had told me exactly what was wrong, and included a YouTube 8-minute video on how I could fix it, plus links to the parts and cost estimates, and the fact that this machine was considered a war horse, likely to last longer repaired than a new one."See more
