Full cleaning 2700 sq ft home - 9 hours. Best brokered or web-led housecleaning experience EVER. Michael is a smart (IQ and especially EQ) and articulate man who quickly became immersed (with a ton of energy) in our tasks with a high level of sensitivity to our particular home stage. He is a totally capable cleaner, sure - used a totally effective combo of his and our own chemicals, tools and methods - got the house lastingly clean (it's been 4 days since now, time to dispassionately inspect) in all the conventional ways, missed only a few nooks or crannies - and he sincerely wanted to know what we catch that he misses (we got the sense he'll remember for next time). BUT - what else? Most cleaners (especially on first time gigs) reveal a lot by how they handle the dusting / knick knack challenge - Michael got bookshelves and cabinets and chests and mantles and all that clean, "picking up" every little item to dust beneath, AND then surprised us by tweaking placement - staging - of MANY of the little precious things we've accumulated over the years and (not making this up) we had to agree 100% of the time that he'd put things back better than where he found them. He knew this was a scary thing to offer - told us some people ask him to refrain and he quickly restores things as they were ... but folks, this guy (he has apparently worked as a professional interior "stager") is genuinely talented - and this one housecleaning left us with improvements we really liked! So in addition to a VERY well cleaned home - we got insight and a freshening of how we live with some of our favorite little stuff. Hell of a deal - his rates are solidly in the middle of the market range for good cleaners. He has a great, informal way of handling scheduling and was totally candid upfront and easy about the business, personal space and performance aspects of a house-cleaning relationship. We'll have him back in a month for sure.

Great experience working with Madison. In the apartment I'm sharing, my space is just 1 room and 1 bathroom, and some garage storage space. I've had stuff piling up for 2+ years in my room and it felt like it was bursting at the seams. I felt overwhelmed with the clutter and it would bring stress to me rather than joy and calm and peace and sense of play. But I wouldn't know how to start getting rid of things and organizing and cleaning up the clutter. Over 3 hours, we got rid of soo much useless paper I didn't even realize I had, and lots of other stuff that I always genuinely meant to get to or use, but realistically would never happen. For most of it I was feeling guilty whenever I would see it, and put it off because it wasn't a priority. With patience, understanding, and some coaching, she helped me release these things so I can focus on what is truly my priorities in my life right now, and identified some patterns I have that lead to the clutter I had. She helped organize in a way that brings some system to my room and my stuff. While I still have some work to do to make my room the way I want it to look, in the 2+ years, I wasn't able to do by myself most of the things we did together in just the few hours she was here. She helped me realize that I shouldn't beat myself up around the level of disorganization and instead get professional help so I can have the result and keep moving forward with my businesses and personal life while having a place I feel comfortable coming to and living and working in. Releasing and letting go of the excess crap I didn't need was an emotional experience because I realize I need to release and let go of things, experiences, and memories from my past that don't serve me in my life going forward :)

Pros: Jasper was prompt in responding, punctual, friendly, and completed the work quickly. I was impressed that he finished this project in one day; whereas other contractors seemed to indicate it was more work and more difficult. I would hire him again. Some areas he can improve: There were a couple of minor areas that were knicked on our kitchen island that I didn't notice until cleaning up. Also, I think he could have done a little better cleaning up the island- wiping down the cabinet fronts that had a light layer of dust (I did this myself). Finally, I gave him a box of stain & top coat that the previous owners left to us. He applied them but I noticed they didn't leave the counter shiny, like the finish we had before he sanded. After Jasper left, my husband realized we were missing the water sealant coat which we had in the garage. So now we are applying this coat ourselves to make the island water- proof and give it the same shine. This isn't totally Jasper's fault since I gave him the supplies but I would have liked if he would have noted that something seemed to be missing or off (or given his recommendations on what he would have stained/sealed it with to make sure the wood stayed water proof.) Overall, I'm happy with the work.

Luana and her helper did a great job on a very dirty rental unit we are moving into. The garage had small animal feces, loads of dirt and spiders. She put on a respiratory, eye protection and just went to town cleaning. She is not afraid to get her hands dirty and really scrub/clean. She also did a great job in the unit. On a personal note she is very pleasant, punctual and easy to work with/arrange a time. She takes pride in her word and strives to do a good job.

A few weeks ago I came to a realization that my birthday was soon approaching, I wanted to give myself a gift.....the gift was to UnStuff my Life. I wanted to enjoy the last stage of life without anxiety after collecting 35 years of clutter. I wanted to be able to spend my days at home in a relaxed and carefree environment. I was overwhelmed with the job of uncluttering and faced the fact that I could not do this big job alone. I went to the Thumbtack website and did a search on home organizers. I received responses and did interviews over the phone. I was very impressed with the responses given to me by Deborah Smith so I felt that I did not need a face to face interview. My home is located about 50 minutes from her home so I was fearful that she would not accept the job. I held my breath until she made an appointment to assess and begin the task if we were a fit.....phew! Now I can relax. Deborah help me choose items to purge, sort and find new homes for those items. It can be very emotional for the homeowner to purge because of the memories associated with the item. Deborah taught me some little techniques to be able to let go. I equated her job to that of a psychologist where she analyzed, worked with my insecurity and made subtle suggestions when I was in a quandary about keeping or purging. She taught me to prioritize and to realize that it is the memory and not the item itself. We were able to work in harmony with each other so the process became much easier and pleasant. I know that I am not perfect, therefore, I plan to have Deborah revisit at times to help with a quick tune-up.

I have worked with another organizer and had a very bad experience. Her helper was great but when the owner came she was terrible. I was very careful when hiring my next organizer and went through a couple others before finding Adjusting Space. Finally a professional who works hard and doesn't leave a mess at the end of the day even though the job is not complete. She schedules and shows up when she says she will and does a great job. I am very pleased with what we have accomplished so far, she is coming back tomorrow to work on a very long project. I will be hiring her for more projects, I have a list that she can do and will do.

The stress I was feeling about moving out of my Hollywood home was overwhelming. I needed someone that was going to hold my hand through the process. After shopping around for the best deal, this was it for me. Having people come into my home is very personal and I also needed confidentiality. Kay and her team were very friendly and accommodating to my needs. Everything ran smoothly and they earned my trust. All my personal belongings were in good hands and it was not stressful at all. I have had the pleasure of working with Emily Lewis on several occasions over the last few years. Emily has helped me with a wide range of organizing projects, from packing and unpacking for moving house, to purging and organizing my pre-teen daughter's room, to helping me get through a massive paper build up on my own desk. Emily is compassionate about the fact that mess happens, and seems to have a magical touch in clearing it up. Tasks that seemed daunting, are suddenly and seamlessly handled with ease. Brooke is an excellent manager. She can see the whole picture rather than the pesky details, she knows exactly what to prioritize, and she isn’t thrown by a challenge. She is patient and walks you through whatever needs to be done. She is no nonsense when it comes to tasks, but is also warm and funny and is not afraid to hold your hand if you need it. She is a FANTASTIC organizer!!! I was referred to Tamah Vega by an organizer out of San Francisco who spoke very highly of her. Tamah is in the east bay which made it convenient for me as I live in San Leandro. We hit it off immediately on the phone and got along great in person. She's easy going and has a great sense of humor. I was nervous about how she would work with me once we got to emotionally charged items. She NEVER made me get rid of things; rather she asked questions that helped me make decisions about whether or not I wanted to keep things. I have 25 years of accumulated stuff and although we're not done yet, my house feels so much better and I am much happier in it than I've been in years. After working with Tamah for awhile, I am able to organize better with all her tips. She makes recommendations for organizing and will research to find tools that work specifically for my needs. She can be as much or as little involved as I want and will give me homework, so I can work at my own pace. Tamah is a wealth of information and has a fantastic website which is a great tool for re-cycling (rather than throwing out) what you don't need. I highly recommend her - whether you have a small or a large project, whether it's about paperwork or things or a combination of them. She moves at your pace in a gentle non-threatening way and is up to any job. Give her a call; it will be one of the best organizational decisions you make.

I am a single Mom, business owner and have (5) rescue pets. My life is busy and messy on the best day. As much as I want an organized house, it is the last thing I feel like tackling at the end of the day. Monique came to my home and helped me make those 1st steps and now I am running! I am an advocate and Pro for Thumbtack and hired Kayla for my boyfriend to prepare his apartment before his family came to town. The tasks were vague to start, but she acted as our personal assistant for 3 days since we have extremely busy schedules. She organized his place, put items in storage, set up the guest bedroom, grocery shopped, and minitored the cleaner. She was able to check in 2 different flights for our visitors and manage their airport Uber pick ups remotely, as well as managing some personal emails. She was able to provide an array of dinner reservation options and book them. The special touches were noticed, such as; putting stemmed glasses for the white wine in the freezer, checking in on our hired cleaner, organizing closet space in the guest bedroom and setting up their Netflix. Kayla was trustworthy, asked the right questions, and was very efficient! It is definitely worth hiring a pro to take the stress off your plate when having visitors, will hire her again in a month before more company.
